Most people have been disappointed with the market conditions today.

If he bet on his prediction, he could be very profitable in year 2018.
I hope he doesn't bet while buying bitcoin and holding him back this year.

$3,000.00

Looks like this guy had it.
If he bet on his prediction, he could be very profitable in year 2018.
Most of the prediction last year were wrong because price was crazy going down, but another year, means another hope.
Can you make another prediction thread like this, I would love to put my prediction, just for reference and I'll go back in a year.

I don't like the logic that "since it went up a lot this year, it can't go up a lot next year".

I think the opposite is true - it will go even more next year.

Still, due to banking coins and government regulations, I am setting a conservative estimate of only 90k.

I have never been close on these predictions so I will just throw out a number (that will be wrong):
I'm going to do the same. $50,000. Very common prediction of $50k, but there is good probability of it happening. From beginning of 2017 to end we saw bitcoin becoming roughly 15 times. The question is will it happen again? Probably not 15 times the value, but 2x or 5x isn't that possible.

Perhaps that would be settled or even greater than to that price. Some says that maybe this year could be for some altcoins like Ethereum, Ripple, Litecoin, Monero and Dashcoin but I never back down on believing that bitcoin would sore high too. Many are on crypto now and demand will be greater and greater as well as demand in Bitcoin. Bitcoin will be the King as always.

It's really interesting as you always get into prediction thread and be able to maintain it every year when the time has come, refers to this thread: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/predict-the-price-january-1-2018-wrap-up-of-last-years-predictions-1734516

Back to the topic,
Why you choose $25,000?
Bitcoin price in South Korea ever reach over $24,000 few months ago, don't you think it will be easy to recover to this price?
Current price is $13,890 on preev and $13,965 on coinmarketcap. If wee look at the chart in last year, bitcoin could doubled its price ($2K) in May 2017 and increases significantly in October-December after financial institutions starts accepting bitcoin or at least listed bitcoin in trading futures.
The game changer in bitcoin are scale solution be implemented and acceptance such as in Japan and Belarus, after all things set in place, I guess bitcoin can reach $50,000 in January 1st, 2019.

My thinking is along the lines of McAfee's prediction of $500k in 2020...I figure the price will jump 10x after the halving to hit that number which would put the price at $50k at the beginning of 2020. So I would have to choose something between now and $50k for 2019. The default guess should always be guessing that the price will be today's price since it is a known number. So I just threw a number between $13k and $50k that is closer to $13k.

Then again, who the hell knows. random(1000,1000000)

Wow, so you are expecting a growth of more than x20 from the actual price? That is kinda risky, but i respect your opinion after all.

Looks like throwing dice seems to work out best.  Ok.. here goes..
$287,038.22

I will throw my dice too.. I think that the price will be nearly to $50,000 by the first day of the next year.

I know that there is a full year left, but it is never bad to try to make some predictions right?

For me, that price is very possible.

Everything will be always possible in bitcoin and for this month of January 2018 to January 2019, this will be a good point that we really hit the best price that is more than $20K. That's a good opportunity for the new incoming investors to grab the price right now while it's at low value, because their profit might be doubled up soon and in less than a year that is very possible to obtain the best price ever and $30K is good visionary to overlook for this year and so on.

Since historically speaking January has always been a rather red month for bitcoin I'm going with $35,000 to kick 2019 off (and an all-time high at around $50,000 a piece). I feel like 2018 is going to be a year of altcoins so the growth won't be as drastic as last year but I still think we will end the year off on a pretty decent run before correcting back to the mid 30,000s.

It's nothing more than throwing with guesses, but I'll aim at an increase of 100% from current levels till that time ($30,000). If we look at certain events that we have ahead of us, then each of these events should stimulate the market to move forward over the major part of this year. I however like how people in general have lowered their predictions massively after the 'decrease' from the all time high. Instead of aiming at $30,000 in 2017, people have changed their predictions to have that price level be the target for this year. Grin

The price of the bitcoin last year ago is very high and they already reach 20k dollars and many people earn a lot of money once bitcoin reach that price so they sell it to make a lot of profit. Price of the bitcoin this january 2 , 2018 is 14,600 dollars at coinbase and for sure it will increase again and possible the price of the bitcoin in the month of january 1, 2019 will be 30k-50k dollars and I think that really happen so better to buy bitcoin now and you will gain a loy of money once you have a lot of bitcoin.  But even the price increase more they have possibility the price again decrease if the market crash. So invest only you can afford to lose.

I have never been close on these predictions so I will just throw out a number (that will be wrong):

$25,000

I predict the price per bitcoin to reach $50,000 by Jan 1 2019 due to the news about the Bank of America winning patent for crypto exchange and things were said to be different this year cause G7 central banks will start buying cryptocurrencies to bolster their foreign reserves.

I suspect a price around $50000, I think we may go higher in 2018 but 50k is about the average of where I think we can go to. It's really not much more than plucking a number out of the sky though! For sake of being more accurate let's say $50847.

I prefer not to calculate the level of growth based on how the market has gone up in 2017, because that's what others are already doing. It's basically impossible to experience the same level of growth this year as well.

I am going to be a bit more conservative with my prediction, and say that without lightning network, we'll probably hover around $25,000 next year, give or take $1000-$2000 in both directions.

If we manage to get lightning network up and running, I am more hinting towards a prediction of $35,000 with a failed attempt of breaking through the $40,000 mark prior to that. Either way, we should be up way more.

This year the bitcoin price won`t follow any stable trend. It will move between 12000 and 14000 USD and all the speculative investors ,who want big and short-term profits will run away, searching for some altcoins to pump and dump. The number of countries that will regulate crypto will increase and this will make the transactions more expensive.I would predict a price of around 14000 USD.
Well, my prediction will be somewhere around $18,000 even though it is too early to predict the bitcoin price by the end of January. We shall see who is right, then. Smiley

The price  prediction of bitcoin will go up high at the end of january or maybe by february the price will climb again because of highly buying of bitcoin.
It is still depend but there is always a possibility. Hopefully it will happen but we must still consider that bitcoin will still drop because of some altcoins that are coming and investors are having an interest with them.
It is still too early to predict the price of bitcoin for 2019.

I think bitcoin will actually end up a little lower than that due to the surge of altcoins on the market. My prediction comes in at 20,000.

The reason for this number comes from a couple of my opinions. I think that altcoins will be able to get most of the crypto market because people have started to realize that they can choose the coins that they want to put their money into rather than stick solely to the original coin. Furthermore, I feel like people will start getting more hesitant about the bitcoin transaction fees and such (this won't happen if the lightning transactions come into play).
