Everything is possible my friend but 50k usd is too early. I can say that 10k or 20k USD is a realistic prediction. The $50,000 might happen maybe after 5 or more years. Judging by the spikes of bitcoin, it's really impossible on the year 2018 to reach 50k USD.

Don't think 50K is possible, the figure seems too high and you are talking about more than 10 times the price increase of bitcoin for it to reach the figure. But who knows, maybe it will be possible and we will be all rich.

I think 5K will be a more realistic figure, especially if a dump happens soon and we lose quite a bit of money and we need some time to recover from loses. At the end of 2018, 8K would be a pretty reasonable figure.

If we are talking about possibilities, then reaching 50k USD by 2018 is possible. However, in practicality, that price is very absurd. It would be great if our Bitcoin gets a huge increase, right? However, I think that Bitcoin cannot sustain that price. A huge dump will certainly occur.

Although it can possibly happen in a decade or so but not by any chance in this year.

There are some speculation that bitcoin price will reach 50K. Why not? This is a good vision, but going back to reality we can never expect it to happen on 2018, possibly 8-10 years from now. And that too near, a good time to invest. But sad to say, bitcoin is really unpredictable in fact we can never tell what will be the price on the coming days. So what we have to do is just to be Hopeful, hopeful that bit coin will not crash but soar instead. This is whats sure for 2018, bitcoin will still go crazy.

There is obviously no guarantees of where the bitcoin price would be at next year, but i really don't think that 50k USD is very likely at all just like you think. There is a slight possibility IF a major economic collapse happened overnight with the fiat economy but imo that's probably not going to happen this decade.

However if you lowered the figure to $10k next year, there is a real possibility that might happen.

That could be possible. I do think that bitcoin is likely to hit $5k at least by the end of next year, i'm just not sure whether it has enough fuel left in the tank to triple in price in one year again, repeating this year's phenomenon. Undecided

I strongly believe that we'll be touching the $4000 level this year, but there is no way we can keep it there without knowing what will happen in November. In an ideal situation, we'll likely see the price go to the $5000 level this year. If the market reacts negatively in the run-up to November, we'll be hovering just above the $2000 level again. Wow you looked so good in prediction of bitcoin fluctuation in the market. Me too I'm just looking for $3500 to $4000 before end of the year, however I know it hard to get $4000 but we need to believe to the potential of bitcoin. Also we need to looked forward for any possibility.

Now already price is around 3700$ and above now. Before segwit 2x activation price was seems around 3200$ only. After activation price bump more 500$ in the price chart. We need to more adoption or any upgrade implementation happen on bitcoin to see this price.

Congratulations to those realistic predictions, we had hit $3,400 - $3,500 very soon. And it's more possible that we will be seeing it add another 20% before the end of the year. By 2018, I guess we have to see bitcoin very well at $10,000 and this is going to be the start of bitcoin seeing it at 5 digit value dollar.

Ha nice! I was just laughing reading these posts about $3k-$4k by the end of next year being predicted like 9 days ago and now we're at $3400.

No way in hell btc will be $50k in 2018. I'd say absolute earliest it could reach $50k is 2020, but probably more like 2022. $10k is a great doable goal for next year though.

But is $3500 not high enough for you? Bitcoin price is really a very difficult task for even a experienced market analyst and I haven't seen a market that will have a bullish run for a year specially bitcoin. So I don't believed that bitcoin will be bullish in 2018.

Well BTC is the most unpredictable currency in the world, one can't say anything with 100% belief about the saying, as we all know that it is widely volatile so sometimes the predictions go wrong but one of the prediction that have been made about it's price up to 50k in near future is not possible. Slowness doesn't belong to Bitcoin. We are talking about one year, let me tell you what could happen in one year. Segwit gets activated, leading to 2MB hard fork. This will split into two major Bitcoins- out of which one is we are speculating now and other Segwit one. Segwit Bitcoin will be backed by >90% miners leading most of the users to switch over to it. Afterwards, in three-four months, Segwit bitcoin will take over Bitcoin Core's empire completely. Owing to small fees and fast confirmations, merchants will start accepting Bitcoin largerly.
So in broader frame, after one year, BTC (core) would be $500-600 something whereas BTC (Segwit) would be $10-15k.

$50k? I guess all the above replies made it clear that it's MOST PROBABLY impossible for bitcoin to reach $50k in an year.
If the forks go well, we get more investors (highly likely), more people shift to using bitcoins (highly likely) we can take bitcoin to around 4-5k USD.
I won't be surprised if an outbreak occurs and suddenly a lot of banks and institutions start accepting bitcoins it may even reach $10k+ in an year.

If you are expecting USD50000 for the price of 1 Bitcoin, forget it. Of course, many changes like Segwit is occurring. This should place upward pressure on prices and slowly nudge them up. Especially when transaction fees and confirmation times are slashed, prices would expectedly rise.

Moreover, currently, Bitcoin is highly underrated. Not many people use it or understand its full potential. I don't think bitcoins will be 50.000 USD/ BTC in 2018, that is too fast although there is chance for it but it is a little chance, bitcoins will be 50.000 USD/ BTC about couples decades later, bitcoin's price in 2018 i think it will be hit around $3000 up to $5000/BTC that is because the activation segwit on bitcoin's network but if the activation segwit is fail bitcoins will be down.

I highly doubt that it would take "a couple of decades" for Bitcoin to reach $50k. In fact, I would be quite surprised if Bitcoin didn't reach $50k before 2030. That would mean that another coin has technologically surpassed Bitcoin so far, that everybody jumped boats to the new currency.

Some speculators say bitcoin will reach 50K but not next year, more like 10 years from now i think it could reach 4-5K next year.
But to be honest we don't even know what will happen to bitcoin in 2 days from now Wink

Bitcoin has potential to rock the price of 5K or 50K but not in 2018 for surely. Price bitcoin is sole dependent of market situation and looking at current market happenings such as Hard fork da after tomorrow and soft fork in the month of November are ripping its strength. It will take time to recover from this the scene and would start moving up once the market capitalisation for bitcoin itself increases.

Plus you don't know exactly what is aftermath when the hard fork and soft fork comes in action.

Considering the pump experienced this year already I think 3-3.8k is too conservative, I think a 5k bitcoin sometime before the end of next year easily.

i think it is impossible to reach $50k this year, more than 2000% in a matter of 4 months, it is not possible.
But $3,5k - $4k is a little more realistic, by the end of this year.

If Segwit2x is successfull and bitcoin transactions become cheaper and faster(or even instant),BTC
will rise to 10K USD.Reaching 50K USD is doable during the next 5 years,if there are no major hard forks and no dirty government and central bank tricks(no attempts to destroy bitcoin).

50000$ is impossible to reached by next year. Were only at 2700$ and 50k in matter of months is very impossible. My prediction on bitcoin is it will only hit 4000$ for the year 2018.

5K would be the highest we get in 2018. I don't see it hitting that or going higher. I think we will hover around 3-3.5k and it will be a solid year.

In 2018 Bitcoin will very likely not end up becoming anywhere close to $50,000 USD. You're looking at maybe somewhere around $5,000 maximum if the market is in a good mood and the fork goes well, but otherwise there could be some issues when it comes to cracking some of the goals for the market. $3,000, $4,000, $5,000 is a big number right now and we probably saw a lot of the new money come in during the pump from three-digits to four, and now we have to wait for either a new wave of money or a lot of people holding and refusing to sell.

$2,500-$5,000 will likely be the story of 2018, maybe a bit higher up if the investors are generous.

Everything can happen, but no knows what will be the track of bitcoin this 2018.
Some think it will go down ,others predicted it will hit 5000$. But only one can happen ,and its up to us to find out.
