So my beloved Reds go clear at the top of the table. I was delighted that Man City vs Arsenal was a draw, both dropped points which was perfect for Liverpool.
~snip~
That's a loss for both clubs and very profitable for Liverpool. An incredible game for Arsenal as they just waited without much possession. In fact it was very boring to see Arsenal park maybe 4 buses. But this strategy successfully made Arsenal bring 1 point. Gabriel and Saliba managed to ruin Haaland's game. Haaland could not move freely, in fact he did not seem to have much contribution in this match. The Man City players were frustrated by 4 buses parked in front of the goal. LOL

Exactly, Arsenal really relied more on their defense in this match. Their target means actually preventing Man City from scoring goals. And they used a quick counter attack system to attack, so they only had a few chances to advance into the Man City area and couldn't win more balls. But, even though they are quite defensive, Arsenal's shots on target are actually more compared to Man City. This means that Arsenal's game is actually working quite well, but it cannot be denied that Man City's defense is also strong, their goalkeeper is also strong. And Draw could be Arsenal's worst target for this match.

Guardiola was so pissed about gunners defence line at a point he wanted to break it aggressively. Arteta played the game quite well since he counted a lot on his defence to not receive any goal while trying his luck in counterattacks.
That result was the least damaging one for both teams but definitely it helped Klopp a lot since Liverpool and after winning yesterday's game against Brighton and Albion Hove has become the first with 2 goals above of Arsenal and 3 points away from Manchester City

I guessed we can say Arteta really went for the best strategy, the match wasn't any kind of match they could risk losing and they know if City was given space at the defense it will really not tell we'll since both team were looking for a win or at least a draw while the draw is what Liverpool really wanted.
IMO, Arteta has applied the right strategy in the match against Man City. In that match, Man City only got 1 shot on target and the total shots was 12 shots only. It was not like the stats of Man City attacking in the usual matches. It indicated that Arteta succeeded to make Man City attackers have very limited chance for scoring goals. A draw result was a good result for Arsenal, they could stay in 2nd place at least. It will never be easy to steal points at Man City home, so the draw result is enough for Arsenal.

Let's see how the remaining games goes though Arsenal has more tougher fixtures remaining than City  and Liverpool with fixtures including Chelsea and Man United though Liverpool still have Man united while the 3 has Spurs in their coming fixtures
In the remaining matches, Arsenal still have some big matches. Arsenal will play against Aston Villa, Chelsea, Tottenham, and Man United. It won't be easy for Arsenal to keep getting full points (3 points) in each remaining match. However, they can make best effort to ensure getting the best results. Basically, I think Arsenal is much better from those teams. Although it won't be easy to win against them but there is surely a chance to win.

Manchester City failure to achieve maximum results at the Etihad Stadium left Arsenal with an impressive record. Previously, Manchester City had always scored goals in 57 consecutive matches at the Etihad Stadium, but this fantastic record stopped when they faced Arsenal. Arsenal really showed their class in front of Manchester City, they managed to build a strong defense which made it difficult for Manchester City to break down their defense in this match. It was recorded that Manchester City was only able to get one shot on target out of a total of 12 attempts, a very bad figure for the defending champions.

Of course Liverpool greatly benefited from the draw achieved by their two rivals, the victory over Brighton made Liverpool return to the top of the standings. Liverpool will continue to maintain a safe position by getting full points in the next match. This season's competition is very competitive, meaning the top of the standings must always consistently maintain their performance every match so they have the opportunity to win the title at the end of the season.

Every series has an end. Manchester City may have had a good run, but it's no surprise that it ended against Arsenal. Arsenal are proving how good their defense is by finishing important games with a clean sheet this year. Arteta made it his priority not to concede a goal and he did it. If they had scored they would have gone home with 3 points but this result is certainly not bad for them. Arsenal can take over the lead if Liverpool falters in one of their next games. At the moment all three teams have very close chances.

Even though the match was quite boring when not a single goal was scored, it was also worth appreciating the two teams who didn't want to give up on each other in a big match. Both Manchester City and Arsenal have done their best to maintain their consistency and although in the end both teams shared one point but that is better than not getting a single point.

It is clear how both teams also guard each other's goals so as not to concede and here Arsenal can always thwart Manchester City's opportunities with their strong defense. Overall, Manchester City controlled the game but they were unable to create gaps in Arsenal's defense. One thing is certain, with this draw, Liverpool will benefit greatly because they are still at the top of the standings with 67 points and they will still be at the top of the standings if they still win in the next match.

Yes Arsenal was more of defensive because they can't play an attacking football with Manchester City because that would have cost them the game since City has more possession of the ball, one important thing i noticed about Arsenal in the game is that they allowed City to have more control of the ball but they kept them away from their post because City did not have the opportunity to shoot shots like they used to do when they play against other teams. The game wasn't that boring just that most people expected to see goals in the match but when they were not seeing goal attempts they became angry watching the game.

I think you are wrong, Manchester City tries to score more goals than Arsenal, but the number of shots on target is less than Arsenal. Manchester City played offensive football from the first half, but they failed to penetrate Arsenal's tightly guarded defensive wall. There were some good moments to get Haaland and Nathan Ake to score, but both completely failed.

Arsenal was too defensive in that match, which made the game a little boring. Arsenal didn't make many attempts to score goals, that's because they only did so when counter-attacking. Meanwhile, Arsenal were busy building their defense and closely guarding Manchester City's players, so they were really satisfied with 1 point at the Etihad.
I saw that Manchester City had far more opportunities than Arsenal, but Arsenal's solid defense meant that Manchester City's players did not get a chance to score a goal. Arsenal managed to prevent Haaland from getting many opportunities to score goals because they knew exactly what to do when Haaland got the ball. In terms of tactics, Arteta was much more successful in making Pep Guardiola's men have difficulty in finishing because he really focused on defense.

As far as I have observed, Arsenal managed to frustrate Manchester City in scoring goals because if they play openly then I am quite worried that Manchester City players could score more than two goals. Manchester City played at home so they were much stronger with the motivation to win so Arteta had to find the right strategy and I think he succeeded in that.

The match between Manchester city and Arsenal  was a tough match, that made the both teams to used all their tactics to score goals but there was no such opportunity for both teams that made the match to ended up draw 0-0. Despite the match ended up draw 0-0, Manchester city still displayed some things that made people to believe that Manchester city will still be among the teams that will win this title, because in ball possession Manchester city lead through out the match and Arsenal really feel the strongest of Manchester city in this period. It was a great performance for Liverpool to defeated their opponent 2-1 to embraced the three points to remain in the first position but any small mistakes in their next matches will make Arsenal and Manchester city to take over the position from Liverpool, because they are using little points to gap Arsenal and Manchester city.

And the way Arsenal was keeping tabs on our players and not giving them breathing space, especially Gabriel Tacker Haaland I was so angry because we do not need too many chances before we can score, and since they did not give us that chance, they were also unable to score and that is what gives me joy the most. and we need to start having the right mindset about winning We still have the chance of defending this season's premier league, and there is nothing any club will do and I can argue anywhere that we are winning. And from the stats, we had 4 blocked shots and from the ball possession, it shows that we played Arsenal well, and all they were fighting for was to stop us from scoring.

Yeah compared to other teams Liverpool are the most consistent teams  and they have only recorded 2 defeats so far also won 20 matches out of 29 matches this record is better than the other 2 competitors it's just that Liverpool is lower in goal difference than Arsenal, Liverpool 40 and Arsenal 46 but I think it's not a big problem because the winner is determined based on total points unless both teams have the same points. Liverpool's closest competitor is Arsenal but for some reason people think Manchester City is the main competitor, maybe they think that Arsenal are usually inconsistent at the end of the season as happened last season Arsenal missed 2 important matches at the end of the season, will Arsenal repeat it again this season?
I would say that Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City are the three most likely champions. All the three teams are in good form now, and their performances are quite stable. Three teams have the potential to become champions.

I see no chance of underestimating Arsenal this season. They will not make the same mistakes as last season. We are consistently getting good performances from Arsenal players. I think Arsenal will take the top spot in the table if Liverpool drop a point in any match. If Liverpool drops the points I consider Arsenal as favorites to win the title.

Even though Liverpool is leading the standings with a 2 point advantage over Arsenal and 3 points over Manchester City, it is still very possible for these three teams to take turns at the top. Liverpool has a better chance than Arsenal and Manchester City, but Arsenal and Manchester City also still have a chance to thwart Liverpool. Everything is still possible because there are 8 more matches waiting for them, but after Manchester City missed two big matches with a draw, I am sure Liverpool will win this season.

I was a little disappointed with the results of Manchester City's matches against Liverpool and Arsenal, I think this is a sign that Manchester City is no longer strong enough to defend its title this season. On the other hand, a draw put Liverpool and Arsenal ahead on points, while Manchester City had to fight hard to regain it in the next 8 matches.

Who will doubt Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City to become the title winner of this season. It's obvious to even a non football person that with the points these 3 teams has one of them that will win this trophy and I personally think Manchester City will win this one again no matter what. Liverpool is currently ahead of everyone but they are not far, it's easy for Manchester City to win their remaining matches but I don't think it will be that easy for Liverpool to do all of that without any loss.

Arsenal are good but I'm not sure how strong they will go to finish this season but number one place I doubt it, I don't think Arteta will have logic to finish number one. My prediction for lineup table is Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool or Liverpool second and Arsenal will go third place.

Yes, there is not much left to the end of the season and I think Manchester City are out of the title race because neither Arsenal nor Liverpool will allow themselves to make a mistake and will fight amongst themselves.
You hate Man City that much? I doubt any sane football observer would consider them out of the title race this early. It's only natural to think that Arsenal and Liverpool would not want City to catch up but neither of them could guarantee they could win all the remaining matches.

As for the Manchester City vs Arsenal match, it was pretty boring, I didn't expect the match to end in a rout but MC had 72% possession of the ball which is huge but in the end they couldn't score, lol....
It seems you just don't appreciate quality defense.

I adore Manchester City but am not an ardent fan of them, but that doesn't matter. I certainly believe that they can still catch up and come out on top, but let's face it, Liverpool and Arsenal are unlikely to make any mistakes as the title is up for grabs in just a couple of matches and they are ready to make the most of their upcoming clashes, so in my opinion Manchester City don't stand much of a chance

I'm slightly disappointed in Man City and feel like they wasted great opportunity to prove they're the best in the league. They played against Arsenal too carefully, almost as if they were satisfied with a draw.
City dominated in possession and in shots on goal, but something was missing. It was not half as exciting as everyone expected it to be.
Now the Liverpool has moved to a position of a favourite to win the league with odds of x2.20. But there's still a lot of games to play and anything can happen.
What surprised me in that match was that Arsenal even almost scored several goals through Gabriel Jesus. But Man City were lucky because somehow Gabriel Jesus was quite bad at taking chances. As if that wasn't the usual Gabriel Jesus. If Gabriel Jesus had better accuracy, maybe Man City could concede a few goals. Haaland also wasted opportunities unlike usual. This shows that both teams played very carefully and really treated the match like a final as Pep Guardiola said. Liverpool is now ranked 1st because they managed to beat Brighton and also because Man City and Arsenal only share 1 point.

Liverpool are currently at the top of the English Premier League with 3 points more than Manchester City after winning their last match against Brighton. Liverpool have certainly been steadily moving forward this season and they may well continue their consistent performances until the end of the season. If Liverpool can perform consistently like this until the end of the season, then surely Liverpool can win the Premier League title this season. The reason I believe that Liverpool can win the English Premier League title this season is because of Liverpool's consistent performance especially in the matches where they are supposed to get full points and they are not missing the opportunity. If it goes according to plan, it is possible to win the English Premier League title by defeating Manchester City or Arsenal.
Third top standings premier league awhile has the same become the winner in this season although Liverpool manage two points left from Arsenal but both of them will face each other and opportunity for Arsenal cut off their difference points if can beat Liverpool. Can't predictable who will be the winner this season still has many difficult matches for three teams as strong candidate for winning premier league.
Liverpool has advantage with the draw result between Manchester City vs Arsenal and if can perform well in last 10 matches later will be the winner but loss points in any one match give opportunity for Arsenal or Man City lead top position standings.

I think all three teams still has 50% opportunity for winning premier league regarding difference points standings awhile, I can't favorable Liverpool is near close become the winner because Arsenal and City still get chance to make Liverpool drop to second of third position place.

Because this match was really like a final, therefore both teams played very carefully and didn't want any mistakes. However, Arsenal is in their best performance this season, in the three meetings between Man City and Arsenal this season, Man City has never won against Arsenal. It could be said that the mentality of the Arsenal players is now stable and strong. Managed to steal points at home and away even though they only drew at the Etihad but overall was better than last year. And it's true, from this draw there is always another team that benefits, after the Man City vs Arsenal draw, Liverpool temporarily took over the top position in the EPL League which made the fight for the title even more fierce.

However, my prediction is that if Arsenal is able to win head to head against Bayern Munich in the UCL league then Arsenal's mentality will improve, but if they lose, the percentage of Arsenal without a trophy will be higher this season. On the other hand, Liverpool vs Man United will determine where Liverpool will go in the race for the EPL League title this season. Man City seems to be more relaxed about retaining the championship title, if they could become champions of course they would be happy but even if not, that's okay, just think of Pep Guardiola as giving a farewell gift to the toughest rival in his coaching career.

That Arsenal match was puzzling. Parking the bus against City? That's hardly title-winning thinking. Although they held out for a draw, they seemed to leave points on the table. The fact that City couldn't break them down was equally puzzling for a squad that regularly scores.

However, these squads are crumbling under strain. Their injuries are disrupting their flow, forcing them to play safe. Don't underestimate Arsenal's tough schedule and 'easier' City matches—upsets happen. This title contest continues. Anyone who wants it must adjust their game and endure this hard stretch. Finding those solutions quickly is key.

They rather don't want to take risks because they know their midfield lost yesterday's match so why try to take risks by compensating for the performance of Manchester City which is clearly difficult to do so it's better for them to play it safe because in the end not everything can be determined by playing to compensate and trying to survive considering they need to be aware of the situation if it cannot be forced to play attacking then it would be better to survive.

They may not even be able to get a draw if in this match they force to attack and compensate for the game played by Manchester City so in my opinion what Arsenal did in this match was very correct.

Indeed, sometimes this is considered a cowardly act but on the other hand, in my opinion, this action is an action that is indeed concerned with strategy rather than just forcing the lust to play to compensate, it is better for them to use a strategy so that the benefits in front of the eyes are not lost just like that.

Really hard to tell, but I put in some effort and write down the remaining schedule for all three teams.

Liv - Sheffield
Manchester United - Liv
Liv - Crystal Palace
Fulham - Liv
Everton - Liv
West Ham - Liv
Liv - Tottenham
Aston Villa - Liv
Liv - Wolverhampton

I think this is quite doable, but Liverpool has 5 games away from home, including against Manchester United and Aston Villa. But still it is not a horror scenario here.

Arsenal - Luton
Brighton - Arsenal
Arsenal - Aston Villa
Wolves - Arsenal
Arsenal - Chelsea
Tottenham - Arsenal
Arsenal - Bournemouth
Manchester United - Arsenal
Arsenal - Everton

5 home games for Arsenal and same here, hardest games against Manchester United, Tottenham and Aston Villa. Quite equal except for one more home game than Liverpool.

City - Aston Villa
Crystal Palace - City
City - Luton
Tottenham - City
Brighton - City
Nottingham - City
City - Wolves
Fulham - City
City - West Ham

Same thing here, hardest games against Aston Villa, Tottenham but that's it from the top 6.

It's really hard to tell whether one of these teams is more prone to making a mistake than the others. It is not impossible for Liverpool to win every single game. The same counts for City. Maybe the goal difference could become important, but my guess for now is that Liverpool and City will collect more points than Arsenal in the last 9 games. What are your thoughts here?

Arsenal would have been win if Jesus wasn't there, he didn't have a good shooting skills.

Both Raya and Ortega played very well in this match, even though they're a goalkeeper, but they blocks and saves from crucial shots. Congratulations for Arsenal to defend from Manchester City's domination.

This draw result really benefited Liverpool lol, I think they will win on this season!
That's where Arsenal need a complete striker to finish the job, the Gunners played very well and is not easy to play out a draw at the Etihad Stadium, for the first time in the second part of every season Man City have been dominating I saw Arsenal played with so much confidence but the problem they had in that encounter is they didn't convert those chances (all thanks to Gabriel Jesus).
A City fan came out to say that the Gunners was defending and they never came out to play, City on their bad day would have won that game but the Gunners was up to their standard that's why City couldn't get a goal. The game is over but the title race is still on.
Liverpool on the other hand still have something shocking (in a negative way) to give to the fans, things went well for them yesterday with a win against Brighton and the draw at the Etihad Stadium but it doesn't mean they're going to win the league, I still see the Gunners topping and winning the league.
I have to say they do have a pretty good striker already, and Jesus there too, I think it wasn't really lack of striker that made them miss their chances, it was just unlucky. City has Haaland, arguably one of the best strikers in the world right now, maybe the best but he failed to score that game too.

Sometimes it doesn't come down to strikers, it's just that both teams had great defense and midfield so they played as well as they could there and both team denied the other side to attack too much. Not only both teams had some chances, but both teams had fewer chances than they are used to. This game was a good "equal powers" type of game. One thing I realized, City usually won these big games, but this season they had some ties with Liverpool and Arsenal very recently.

This is exactly what I mentioned in another post. I was really looking forward to that game because I thought this is going to be like one of the biggest highlights, if not the biggest, of the season. The Liverpool vs. Manchester City game was one of the best games ever. It was back and forth, attempt after attempt on both sides and none of teams considered for a second to be ok with the draw. Dangerous situations until the final whistle was blown and the questionable referee decision in the 96th minute to not give the penalty.

I am saying this not because I want to discuss the penalty situation in the Liverpool vs. City game again, but it was damn nice to watch that game. Man City vs. Arsenal was a catastrophe and there is no way that Arsenal's game plan ever was to win that game. It seems that Arteta told them to not lose at all cost. Too sad.
