The draw we expected the match to turn out to be, ended up being a win for Liverpool by 2 goals to nil against Arsenal. The Arsenal team really missed many chances in the first half as they dominated the match. It was in the second half around 80 minutes of play that Liverpool scored their first goal by an own goal from an Arsenal player and their second goal came around extra minutes of stoppage time.

It's unfortunate to see the Arsenal team leaving the FA Cup competition at this early stage, and they don't have any match to play in two weeks. They should use the two weeks, they won't be in action to fix their defense lapses so that they will be in full preparation when they play against Crystal Palace in two weeks because it seems like they no longer have that winning mentality to win a match
If before normal time ends then don't expect a draw and in this match Liverpool were able to score a goal at the end of the final minute of normal time. Well, Jurgen Kloop troops were able to bury the Arsenal players dreams of advancing to the next round because Diaz et al managed to beat Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium. Arsenal have been in their worst phase recently where Saka et al were unable to win the 3 matches they played. So, for Arteta, he has not succeeded in bringing Arsenal into their best form in this match because the defeat in the Premier League also had a big impact on their game in the FA Cup.

Even Liverpool were not strengthened by their main player, namely Salah, in this match, but Diaz et al managed to show a good game by beating Arsenal with a score of 0-2 in today's match. Liverpool is not only strong this season but they are very consistent in every match they play. They deserve to progress to the next round and I think they will be ready to become champions in the FA Cup Competition.

The schedule is very busy for Arsenal and Liverpool because at the end of last year they met and only played a draw, but today they will still face each other in the FA Cup and also at the beginning of February they will still meet again in the EPL. This will definitely be an exciting battle for both teams and it is hoped that in whatever situation they will both be able to give their best performance.

But considering that previously both of them only played a draw, I am curious whether one of these teams will win or not in the FA Cup match later. I am quite sure that this time both of them will not remain silent and will want to play again in a draw like before so this will be a prestigious match for the two big teams to finish the previous match. For betting predictions, I recommend the BTTS option or over goal results only because it is very difficult to determine which one of them will win.
Maybe a draw will happen again, but if you remember the appearance of Arsenal lately, it looks like Liverpool is more likely to have a chance to win this match.
This is the FA Cup which is actually not more prestigious than the Premier League, but there is prestige that they will keep, especially they will also face each other in the Premier League later. Arsenal also don't want to lose again in a row, they will try to get the best possible results.
On the other hand Liverpool are also in good shape at the moment and they are better than Arsenal. Maybe this will be determined by Arsenal's own performance, whether they will play well or not, because it cannot be denied that their defeat in the previous match will damage their mentality.

It was a huge win for Liverpool and I feel sorry for Arsenal for their early exit from the tournament. Arsenal are lacking a good stricker and they need to get that settle immediately if they are to change their fortune anytime soon.

Arsenal loss to Liverpool in the league cup today says alot about who Would be at the top of each other between this two teams at the end of the season, Arsenal nemesis has caught up with them, that persistent issue they have always had has still remained and that's inconsistent.
I think they don't have a team with depth and the current players aren't as lethal as they were at the beginning of the season.
They have the players, but fatigue has started to deal with them, together with Arteta's choice of players to start on a regular basis. There are some matches that deserve some certain players in order to be able to win the match; for instance, the match Arsenal lost against Aston Villa at Villa Park, I was expecting a quick substitution to bring in Nelson that scored the winning goal for them against the same Aston Villa last season at the same Villa Park, but they waited till the final minutes before bringing him in the match.

Arsenal has now been eliminated in FA cup, they only have to face the EPL and the Champions League now, they should try and win any of these two trophies if not Arteta's effort will be wasted because even Ten Hag won a Cup last season for United.

Manchester City defeated Huddersfield Town 5-0 at home.It wasn't a very difficult game for City because their opponent was too easy for them. They didn't need to push too hard considering it was a cup tie.
Leeds United, on the other hand, beat Peterborough 3-0 away from home.Although the opponent was in good form, Leeds were expected to win because of the quality difference.
One of the more surprising results was West Ham's draw at home to Bristol, which I think most expected West Ham to win.

West Ham played a truly surprising match. I'm sure no one thought Bristol would score or draw in this match.
While West Ham are performing quite well in the Premier League, I would expect them to play much better against a team in the lower league. But the skills or strength of the teams are not always sufficient, sometimes we can see such surprising results Smiley
That's football for you, it's full of crazy things and that's why one cannot be too certain of any team. On a normal note West ham are supposed to win that game on paper but when they played out the game the result was actually different. In the premier league and European competition West ham seems to play very well but when it's comes to cup matches or games outside these competition they tend to have some limit to their good performance.

Actually, with the current performance of Newcastle, in my opinion, Eddie Howe should feel threatened because in fact they are currently experiencing problems and crises in performance.
Newcastle have spent quite a lot to make their readiness in a good position and are considered one of the dangerous clubs in the last 2 seasons so it is certain that when the conditions are not in accordance with the desired expectations, the coach must be ready to bear all the decisions because it is certainly the coach who will be targeted because he is considered unable to advance the club.
Howe can get out of this trap if he is able to improve Newcstle's performance but if in the end he cannot do that then he must be prepared to leave.

You are right about almost everything but one thing is wrong. You said that Newcastle United spent a lot to get the team ready for the fierce competition in the Premier League, but that is not right and it is something I criticize. Newcastle would have had the money if they wanted to, but they spent only £130.8m and their net spending was £88.6m.

They are pretty much in the middle when it comes to their spending and I think when a club qualfies for the Champions League and has played such a great season, they should make sure that the squad is competitive the next season. That's where they saved too much money in my opinion.
I don't know the data you provided in the picture is from one season (summer transfer this season) only or talking about the last 2 seasons since Newcastle tried to revolutionize their club for the better.

But for the spending issue I said in my previous post I said that they spent quite a lot of money in the last 2 seasons meaning not just this season alone.
We can see some of their purchases in the last 2 seasons to make the club better such as the purchase of some players who spent more money including when they brought Harvey Barnes for 44 million, Tonali for 64 million or even Isak who was bought for more than 70 million.
Even if this price is not as big as the spending of some big clubs like Chelsea, Arsenal or maybe some other big clubs in the EPL but it is big enough for Newcastle to overhaul their players to try to do their best to make them one of the strong clubs after the acquisition of investors from the middle east.

I think Chelsea is never a good example to see how other clubs are doing because literally every club is doing better than Chelsea no matter what they do or how much they spend. Cheesy

But to be serious here, I still think that Newcastle should and could have done more than that. This was for the transfer period 23/23, so the winter transfer window + summer transfer window in 2023 I think. If somebody here knows better, please let me know. But they haven't really been targeting a superstar, a player that is ready to go for it, who can easily be integrated into the team and is good enough to win it all. But I am not actually blaming them, it is good if some clubs act in a reasonable way financially.

Klopp is not too serious about the FA Cup so far. That's what I felt after watching today's match. In the first half we saw a very good performance from Arsenal. Arsenal players dominated the match till 75 minutes. Liverpool played defensively today. But Liverpool stepped up their attack after Jakub Kiwior's own goal in the 80th minute. And after 90 minutes they scored another goal and won the match 2-0. Arsenal's performance was not bad but they failed to win. Liverpool went one step closer to winning the FA Cup title.
Conceding 2 goals injury time in the second half is not what Arsenal sign up for, alot of things changed for them because they failed to tie their knots on the head, instead they settle for lesser results. While Liverpool brought in their very best to suit in the necessary targets. Top goals are the ultimate targets for Liverpool in the FA Cup. Jurgen Klopp doesn't look serious with the game clash towards Arsenal but he still managed to win matches. As for the Gunners, they had the golden opportunities but failed to utilized them into resourceful baits.
I don't understand what you meant by Klopp is not interested in the FA cup and yet he was able to eliminate a good club like Arsenal from FA cup. If Liverpool actually is not interested in FA cup the best opportunity for them to quit was in the hand of Arsenal. If they were able to win Arsenal which is among the good clubs that are in Great form this season that means they are even prepared to go to the finals because Arsenal is among the hardest opponents that they would face in this FA Cup. You should also understand how important FA cup is to the England clubs that it is not a minor cup that someone would say that they are not interested about.
Every club in England must surely be interested in the FA cup because it is among the major cups of the season.

Arsenal's overall performance has deteriorated badly. Coach Arteta is now under a lot of pressure with his team. They have won just one of their last 5 matches in the Premier League. Lost in all three. The team failed to win the FA Cup match today. The Arsenal team is facing a lot of problems to score goals lately. They must look for an experienced striker in the winter transfer window. Arsenal have scored and conceded only 5 goals in their last 7 matches. 9 It is easy to guess that their main weakness now is their attack. If they don't bring an experienced striker in the squad, they probably won't solve this problem.

It was not a problem for City to beat Huddersfield, for them it is a weak opponent with whom there were no problems. The positive news was the appearance of De Bruyne in the second match, this guy returned to the game and this will be a significant strengthening for the team.
City are slowly getting into their best form, and it is at this time in the season that they start playing with a lot of purpose and more often than not, it fires them on to go and win as many trophies as possible. Huddersfield was never going to trouble City today, at least not in the Etihad, it was always going to be a comfortable victory for Pep and his boys, and that's exactly what was achieved.

The win will help them pick up the pace even in the EPL, they have a tough game against Newcastle in a week or so, and City will be eager to continue their winning streak, and continue extending it until they are top of the league. KDB and Doku are both back, Haaland should be available for the next game, good times are definitely ahead for City.

This is Arsenals second consecutive loss so far in recent time, their performance tonight in the FA cup was really unstable and without a good pattern, in the first half of the game they were able creat multiple chances and opportunities for them to scare a goal but they were really unable to convert the attempts to goals.

Liverpool had the second half balanced and we're able to secure victory by the end of the second half and I must comend their performance as it was a well organized one and they deserved the victory they had at the end of the game. Looking at Arsenals performance in the FA tonight, o honestly doubt their ability to be able to win the premier league by the end of this season, they may even literally struggle with the champions league because they don't have the solid form they did had earlier at the beginning of the season,. Liverpool did perform very well even in the absence of their star player Salah,  this showed they had little dependence on him because in his absence they were able to defeat an elite team.

I was expecting this match to be tough after their last encounter that ended as draw but it seems Arsenal are locked in rabbit hole this second leg of the Premier League we are right now. I didn't expect them to win but I expected a goal from Arsenal atleast because of their recent performance, nothing good so far about their games. Forward is not given, midfield is weak and defenders weren't properly organized. Arteta is beginning to look like the old Arsenal, it's early to start this drama with the way they have come so far.

Klopp has not been making noise, I hardly see him make any strong comments that send a message but lowkey, he is winning and Liverpool are stronger every match with good performance. Arsenal was ahead of them with 6 points sometimes but now, the table has changed Liverpool leading with 5 points from Arsenal and I'm sure if they are going to leave that top of the tree anytime soon.

This December Arsenal is very unstable. In fact, they seem to have no energy at the end of the year. It seems Arteta is still very frustrated that early season transfer plans fell through. This is because Jurrien Timber and Thomas Partey were injured from the start of this season. They can't be a second choice to make the game different. In fact, it happened this December. It seems that Arsenal do have to be patient and they still have a chance to improve the team. Maybe Arteta can take advantage of this transfer market moment.
The team should not suddenly lose their breath in the absence of only two players like Jurrien Timber and Thomas Partey. Once again, Arteta started the season perfectly for the team, and when we come to December, we see Arteta's Arsenal becoming stagnant.

For Liverpool today's win was very reassuring, for Arsenal it was a confidence and demoralizing result. Liverpool are playing better with each passing game and are defeating their tough opponents one by one.

The main thing that Arsenal should not be knocked out on the back of this defeat and not continue to lose in the EPL, because the statistics of their games does not look comforting, 4 points in the last 5 matches. This is terrible for their position in the table, as a 5 point gap from first place in such a difficult season is quite a big deal

It seems like there is no other choice for Arteta to stabilize Arsenal performance going forward, I think Arteta really needs to add one or two players to add depth to the squad. Liverpool defeat was very painful, because it happened at the expense of their own supporters, I thought previously the match would be a draw until the two rounds were over. Jakub Kiwior misanticipated Trent Alexander-Arnold free kick while the second goal was scored by Luis Diaz, Liverpool won dramatically even though Arsenal appeared to attack.

Arteta has a lot of work to do to bring Arsenal back to winning ways, their chances are still good enough to compete in the EPL and Champions League even though they have just been eliminated from the FA Cup. On the other hand, Liverpool are still unstoppable so far, I think Jurgen Klopp squad deserves to be favorites for the season in all competitions, in fact their performance is more stable than Manchester City.

Arsenal are likely to lose 1-0 against Liverpool. In the 80th minute, defender Jakub Kiwior mistakenly put the ball into his own net. Such a mistake was not desirable in such an important match. I would say Arsenal were very unlucky.

Arsenal players performed well throughout the match. It would not be wrong to say that Arsenal dominated today's match. But in the end they won't win. Liverpool played a bit defensive in today's match. Because the Liverpool coach will not want any important player in his squad to face injury in this match. Because their main goal is to win the Premier League title.
Liverpool's victory was quite good even though they were more defensive but their attack was quite lethal until the final two goals in the last minute by Luis Diaz.

Jurgen Klopp is always careful when playing in this tournament, usually they lower the second layer but this is different because they know their opponents are not low teams, but throughout the match Arsenal dominated the game but it was a defeat for them at home, maybe this is the second time they have lost at home.

If Klopp can, the EPL, FA cup and Europa League they should get but I know getting the treble trophy is difficult, so the important thing is the EPL trophy.

I think the performance in the FA Cup really depends on the squad's depth. Look at Chelsea, they got a very good squad depth coming from their academy. From their academy players like Armando Broja and Gallaghers were produced.  Look at Manchester City, they destroyed the other team.

In this case, I feel that it also depends on the intention and the target you want to achieve in the end.
Indeed, the depth of the squad is one of the strong benchmarks but on the other hand if in the end their targets and goals are not there then there will definitely be some rotations made because they don't really expect anything more for the FA Cup.

I mean when they are faced with some big competitions (for big clubs) like the Champions League competition, EPL and FA Cup sometimes for some big clubs it always tries to eliminate one of the competitions so that they are not too messed up with a busy schedule and so that players are not compelled to work harder and of course if something like that happens then the FA Cup is an option for them to eliminate the competition because after all they will not push further on this matter so that the depth of the squad can mean nothing if their goal is not in this competition except indeed for Chelsea where they have nothing to gain in the EPL then surely they will try to focus more on the FA Cup.

Yes, Manchester City are back on their track and this is the proof. Yes, I know Huddersfield Town is a very weak team but you know Manchester City had been struggling recently and they have shown they have come back, right?

Actually, FA Cup Matches usually depend on the squad depth for the big teams and Manchester City has shown that they are not rotten, they have good players on their benches.

But I didn't think Arsenal would lose. Both teams were playing their best available 11. Arsenal had good numbers of shots on target and had created more chances. But in the last 10 minutes of the match, they fumbled and that cost them the match.
It was not a problem for City to beat Huddersfield, for them it is a weak opponent with whom there were no problems. The positive news was the appearance of De Bruyne in the second match, this guy returned to the game and this will be a significant strengthening for the team.
Liverpool beat Arsenal with a score of 0:2, I won’t say that I expected such an outcome in this match, but nothing unexpected happened, Liverpool is now in excellent shape, and Arsenal’s last games show that they have problems, so everything ended as expected.
