Take a breathe and step back. First off, what operating system? Second....... cpu, gpu, ram specs? I have this board w/ 6 asus 280x and it was a bitch to get working. I looked at this thread first https://litecointalk.org/index.php?topic=17334.0 , then this one https://litecointalk.org/index.php?topic=11761.0 to get it working. Look at my posts to see if your board can work and if not, pm me for more help. Btw I'm running windows 8.1 and some peeps can get 6 to work out of the box (I'm highly doubtful of their success). I searched for a week to troubleshoot and came across a thread which said to set the pci bios settings to "gen 2" and I tried it and it worked (cant remember where i saw it). This goes to say there is some tricky shit that goes on behind the scenes and in order to troubleshoot you need the exact specs to recreate the problem.

I am trying to do a prescence short with eight small wires cut from a psu->molex cable plugged into the riser, first pin and second to last one. When connected, the power supply won't start.. is it possible to connect the prescence short into the riser, instead of the motherboard? I don't have easy access to the motherboard pcie slots with my case.. so how can I use a prescence short to get 5 cards to work on an MSI z87 g45 board? Thank you!
