Out of interest, can pools take requests and manually include TXs, as you describe?
If so, maybe an automatic service could be set up whereby we can add TX fees at a later time, by getting all the major pools to subscribe to a list of fee free Txs that have had a bounty paid by the user to get included in the blockchain. Which ever pool does first, gets the bounty.

That's an excellent idea.

The person providing the bounty might not necessarily be the person who sent the transaction. It might be the recipient, or even a third party who has agreed to do so just to help someone out. A system like "send your BTC amount to to add a bounty to this transaction" might be the cleanest solution... though of course that particular transaction would need to pay a fee...

Scrolling back 7 posts on this same page . . .

Is it possible for a miner to manually accept a certain transaction for confirmation?
Yes.

....

If he sets up his bitcoind (as mentioned), and then rebroadcasts the TX, that might work, and be free.

Give it some time, it will eventually confirm.

That doesn't seem like very helpful advice given the request being made.  OP essentially says, "I'm in a hurry, I can't want to wait, I need this quickly," and you pretty much respond with "don't be in a hurry, just wait, it'll happen eventually"

Huh

I need this to be sent ASAP.

There are some miners out there that do confirm no fee transactions; you can also patch your bitcoind to always connect to these miners.

Thank you for your reply.  How can I contact theses pools?  Are you talking about like btc guild? ... I can only post in newbie section sadly.
Yes that is what he talked about. Slush's pool, BTCGuild, 50BTC and the like. You should by now be able to write PMs, so you could just lookup the threads under Mining->Pools and try PMing the original posters who usually are the persons running the pools.

I'd suggest trying to contact (via PM) the people who run the following pools:

  • BTC Gulid
  • BitMinter
  • 50BTC
  • Deepbit
  • Slush
  • EclipseMC
  • Eligius

If you can get any of them to attempt to confirm the transaction in exchange for a fee, you'll probably have it confirmed within a day.  If you can get 1 or more of the larger pools to attempt to confirm the transaction in exchange for a fee, you'll probably have it confirmed within an hour.

Please... Does someone have a solution?.. I don't want my transaction stuck for days.

You could try sending a PM to a few of the operators of the larger pool and asking if they'd accept a bounty in exchange for confirming a transaction for you.  Due to the manual nature of the request and the effort/inconvenience involved, you may find that the fee they require is significantly larger than the normal fee that would get a transaction confirmed quickly.  I doubt anyone with the ability to help you is going to see your post here in the Newbie Forum though.

Canceling initiated transactions is not possible per definition with Bitcoin. That's why every good BTC client warns from not including a fee and tells you that this could lead to your transaction standing uncornfirmed for very long.

About your second question I am curious myself. Is it possible for a miner to manually accept a certain transaction for confirmation?

Hi,

I was sending some BTC through BlockChain App for android. I pressed cancel for miner fee and my transaction is still unconfirmed. How can I cancel my transaction and resend with a fee? I need this to be sent ASAP. If any miner would like to confirm this, I can pay them the fee. Please help.
