* Don't enter your details any phishing site. Check your address bar https://bitcointalk.org  before enter your account details.
Why would someone will enter their details if you know that is a phishing site. Prevent getting phished is to bookmark the trusted sites example you add to bookmark bitcointalk.org but before bookmarking the trusted sites or the sites that you mostly visited you have to check the address bar to prevent bookmarking the phishing site, so in future accessing the website is through bookmark tab.

Thank you. I have never deeply thought of it before finding your recommendation.
For now, I understood that setup secret question is one of the most risky way to secure BT account.
* Setup your secrete question on your Bitcointalk account profile.
Don't do this! As it says on your Profile page: "Using this feature is not recommended.".
Social engineering makes this insecure, it's very likely somebody else can answer your question too. And for that reason, your account get locked if you try to regain access by using the secret question.

A little bit additional suggestion:
- Never using same password on different services, platforms, etc. Especially if someone use same email on different places.

Good advices, but sadly we can't be 100% safe on bitcointalk.
You said that hacker can edit or delete staked Bitcoin address. Yes, he can. But if you will post Bitcoin address with signed on that thread, other users will quote your post for verification. If hacker will edit or delete your post, quoted post will still remain. Additional, you can save that post on websites like archive.is.
Hiding email from public souns like a good idea, but I can't do that because I keep it in public as my contact email.
Also, I can add few more suggestions. First - secure your email with strong unique password and 2FA.
And avoid phishing websites. Never enter your login details on websites other than bitcointalk.org.

I really want to emphasize the comment several posts up on this thread.  Staking and Verifying your BTC address also protects against a hack of the site database.  Theymos runs a decent website but even that can be hacked.  If YOU do everything correctly but the site gets hacked, then the staked account BTC address is the established sure fire solution.

You can not avoid those hackers they are too smart/genius in doing bad things to others.I don't know that is the best thing to do to prevent them.

We know hackers are very smart. But we can reduce that. Bitcointalk almost protected by security. But we need take care about our own mail , account and password.
Yes, we can always be a step ahead of them in terms of our security.

As @LoyceV stated that using security question is not recommended, I would like to point out that users who had set the security questions had their accounts locked due to security reasons as a way to reduce the damage from hacked forum database, I think it's still so.

Stay away form forum clones especially when you search google because a lot of times the fake forum site gets higher ranked and users end up giving their login information to them.

Why are the moderators or global admins here in the forum does not regulate a more secured forum? Just like implenting the sMerit, they should also set up a more secured forum, they also have the benefits for it. It will lessen bct members sendkng pm's to admins.

Your tips are just fine but hackers are awake at all time watching our movent waiting for an attack.

Yes like a 2FA for logging on forum could be a security improvement.

Hackers are smart people, and I do not think these tips will prevent from being hacked.
As prevention is better than cure, do not click any link.[Verify site twice and then visit it].
Do not post your contact URLs, your sites or your address publicly.[only one to verify your account].
Do not use the email address associated with your account.

Thanks sir, you are right.I will edit my thread.
Also, add staking bitcoin address in this thread. Prevention is not enough, you should also get the cure ready and set up in order to recover your account in case it was hacked. If you will stake your bitcoin address on that thread, remember to stake only btc address that you really own and control via private key(not btc address from exchange and web wallets that doesn't give you access to private keys)to be able to create a signed message when needed.

Prevention is better then cure

I think there are many similar post same as my post. But I haven't seen. So I just share what I feel, about secure our bitcointalk account. It's better if we can prevent our account from hacker/scammer rather then recover. After happened something It's too difficult to get back. Specially It's very hard to recover bitcointalk account after hack. So better protect it before happened. We have spend couple of year to build our account for good reputation. Hacker / scammer coming and hack our account for sale to some one other or himself. Only best way I have seen to recover your account post your Bitcoin address here. And you have to save your this Bitcoin address and post link in order to recover you account. Then you have to contact with admin theymos include your evidence. But problem is hacker can edit or delete your post and can change email address. So there is very low chance to prove that accout owner is you. Finally you will loss your account forever.

So I think it's better to try prevent your account. We can do some change on our profile and mail in order to prevent our account.

* At first please hide your email address from your bitcointalk account profile. So hacker will not find your mail. Because he will try first hack your mail.
* Use  2 FA verification for your mail.
* Don't use same password that you use before another site. Keep your Password strong. Mix your Password with numeric, alphabetic and symbol.
* Don't enter your details any phishing site. Check your address bar https://bitcointalk.org  before enter your account details.
* Don't share your Password any other people.
* Don't buy any bitcointalk account from scammer. All account seller are scammer.
* Stake your bitcoin address in Here to prevent loss account by hacker.

Hope we can minimize hacking if we follow that.
If you have any more suggestion always welcome.
