No, the name only is the Bitcointalk Forum, not a website about prices, there are millions of websites about Bitcoin prices you can see, outside, depending on your taste, if you know the true meaning of Forum, surely you don't want to ask this question.

The forum is not a place for trading and investing, Bitcoin has been provided a special place to do it all, people are here just to discuss Bitcoin, and others related to crypto.

There's Bitcoinprice[.]org domain though. OP can just simply replace "talk" with "price" and get it over with

1 Bitcoin = 1 Bitcoin
That's easy to say but quite hard to follow unless you are a true Bitcoin Enthusiast. Have you ever sold your BTC? Then, you yourself aren't following the 1 BTC = 1 BTC rule. I used to think this way back in the day but when I was tempted to sell; eventually I did, I was no more a supporter of 1 BTC = 1 BTC. If you are used to selling BTC, you would rather not compare in that way. As for OP, I guess it doesn't make sense to have one.

That is not a rule but a fact. Whether you are a Bitcoin enthusiast or not, 1 BTC will always be 1 BTC. Unlike fiat currencies, Bitcoin cannot inflate.

we no need to turn the bitcointalk also into a marketplace where profits matters not the community.
I don't disagree that we don't need a price tracking page on bitcointalk. Did you miss my post? It doesn't make enough sense. There is a lot of alternative to it; even in bitcointalk I guess. It's a matter of writing some codes only after all.
This is not the thread to discuss the second part of your quoted post; we both are going off-topic, otherwise, we could discuss.

I am selling and buying on the day to day basis but less often than before but it doesn't mean I am not a true believer of Bitcoin. Yes we maybe tempted in the ups and downs but to bitcoiners the Bitcoin is the Bitcoin and there are lot of price tracking websites are there so we no need to turn the bitcointalk also into a marketplace where profits matters not the community.

It's not possible not until the new bitcointalk software forum is up
Are you working on the new forum software by any chance?  I ask this for two reasons:

1) I find it nearly impossible to believe that Theymos wouldn't be able to slap up a price ticker somewhere on the screen, even though the current forum's software probably came on a 8" floppy disc, and
2) If you are one of the worker bees contributing to whatever it is Theymos is doing with the new forum software, could you tell us if a price ticker is going to be a feature?
Unfortunately, no, I would be glad to contribute if I have the knowledge of the stacks they are using.

My answer is only a guess that it could be possible to add such feature compare to the current one which is too out of date more particularly the looks.

1 Bitcoin = 1 Bitcoin

Enough?

I don't think Theymos will be interested in comparing the price of Bitcoin with USD or any other Fiat, and its not really that harder to find the current market price of Bitcoin in your local Fiat. Just use Preev which shows real time average market price.

OP, obviously everyone has made you aware that you're not the first person to request this, but nor should you feel stupid for asking.  Personally I think it's an excellent idea, and the more threads that pop up asking for it the better.  That way maybe Theymos will take notice of what some of the community members want.  And frankly I think it'd be helpful in some ways--like when writing posts in Speculation or whenever you need to know the price of bitcoin for a post and don't feel like leaving the site to check preev.  It's not a massive pain in the ass, but it'd just be a nice feature.

It is boring for me at times to use another site like exchanges to check the price of bitcoin, it will be easy if I use this forum to check the price of bitcoin. If this is bitcoin forum, why is it not possible to check the price of bitcoin anytime we are posting or doing anything on this forum. Admin can make a very small area on this forum for the display of bitcoin price aggregation average of few exchanges. To make it look good, the size can be small and barely noticeable at an upper edge corner if

I don't know if there is a package software that can upload to SMF script but it will take more load on the bandwidth with many members posting and busy traffic, it's possible but it should be customized and modified for SMF original script, it will take time and money for this to integrate, honestly I like the clean theme of Bitcointalk no clutters and every additional package are made to enhance member's experience like the merit system

Dunno what happened to the last thread that had my reply as it just disappeared but I would just re echo that I usually use Chrome Extension like Bitcoin price ticker and it would just pop-up in the right corner of my browser beside the address bar after I pin it. Even outside the forum, you could still the price of Bitcoin.
It uses the CoinDesk API if you're curious by the way.

It looks like this:

A lot of thread similar to this has been made already for this proposal, you can check the links below. There's an even older proposal that been made way back 2013, yet, we haven't seen it yet. Moreover, I think the only thing this may possible is when the epochtalk site is up and running, nothing more.

Automatic BTC price indication on Bitcointalk threads
Adding bitcoin price ticker.
Add real-time Bitcoin price in the forum.

Is it really hard to make a simple google "btc to usd" or your local currency? Google even have a ready made converter on the search page. That will not take 5 seconds actually.

Upon your request, you're not the first to request it and probably will not be the last. It's not possible not until the new bitcointalk software forum is up
