You're right not to trust me. However, you really should trust me.
His wording may have been a bit poor there Roll Eyes
I'd have worded it as:
"You're right not to trust me without thinking about it. However, there are a number of factors that speak in favor of me, such as…"
Or something like that.

This.
You know what, screw it.  This game is ended "due to lack of interest." Wink
However, you WILL be seeing this on bitcoinduit soon.

Hi everyone,
You're right not to trust me -- one of the first threads in the noobs forum, after all, says Trust No One.
However, I've handled large amounts at Bitcoinduit before, and paid them out promptly.  In addition to this, several people can vouch for my character...

Note:
1. Multiple bids of the same size -> earliest one wins.
2. Late transactions are returned to senders.

Alright, please post some successful trades and I'll hand over my bitcoin.

Are you being serious?

Alright, thanks for trolling this thread. Ignored.

This address unfortunately shares a wallet with Bitcoinduit, which has many obligations to fulfill.  Because of this, I may occasionally withdraw from this account as I can't really "lock it down" when I type bitcoind sendtoaddress.  If a more trustable host is willing to host this game with a completely separate wallet, I will end it promptly Smiley
To BitMagic: Thanks for assuming right off the bat that I'm a scammer.
edit: If  you want to check the balance of Bitcoinduit, head to http://bitcoinduit.com/game/checkBalance.php

I'd be happy to hold the wallet.

Further edit: Yes, the address you send with will be judged according to CUMULATIVE deposit.  1+1 counts as 2.

So maybe I'll take into account that I don't trust the op 100%.
Maybe I'm just asking questions to the op without planning to join.
Maybe I would only join with a small amount of money.
Maybe I never actually touched anything related to mybitcoin.
Maybe this is just a fun game for me, where I don't mind a 50% chance of getting scammed.
Maybe the discussion about expected returns could actually have turned interesting, if you took the chance of the op walking away into account, with this chance increasing as the address received more and more money.

But no, you rather felt the need to call everyone an idiot, patronizing people without any cause.

I don't need your arrogance, and I don't need your opinion. I've put you on ignore. Have a good life.

If you can't discuss without ad hominems, then stfu and fuck off.

Oh, I don't think you're going to fail because you're an idiot. That would be ad hominem. It's that you're an idiot, and your bitcoin free market is really just scam central.

I don't need this example to prove my point, though.

I really, really hope this happens. Then maybe you idiots will learn what your "free market" is about. Wait, nevermind, you already learned that with mybitcoin and are still here.
I don't care for your condescending tone. If you can't discuss without ad hominems, then stfu and fuck off.

Not actually true. If you own less than the current maximum deposit, obviously you should deposit 0. Also, if you expect that someone else will deposit more than you own, later on, then you shouldn't deposit either.

Yeah, you're right. The important point: Incentive if you trust the owner of the wallet is to maximize your input. Incentive of the wallet owner is to walk away with everything you own. Therefore, the incentive of the wallet owner is to maximize trust, and walk away with the contents.

Winning strategy in a fair game: put as much as you own in. Winning strategy for an unfair game: put 0 into the wallet.

As for the holder of the wallet: He also runs bitcoinduit, which lends him a bit of trust.

Another question about the game:

If I deposit 2 times, both times with 1BTC, will this count as a 2BTC deposit?

That seems to be it, yes.
Who has the deepest pockets?

And the most trust for the holder of the wallet. Winning strategy in a fair game: put as much as you own in. Winning strategy for an unfair game: put 0 into the wallet.

Where do you think this falls?

Few questions:
Why did you remove the 1BTC?
What happens when in 1 week there is a transaction queued, but it hasn't been confirmed yet?

Atlas, can you please just post these threads in the gambling forum instead of shitting up all these forums with your ponzi schemes and whatever this is?

So the person who sends the largest amount of BTC to that address gets all of the BTC that has been sent to that address over the week?

Yep, this is the only rule of the game.
