I think if I knew about how to change the params I could get atleast 500kh/s but I'm a total noob when it comes to the indepth settings. Right now I'm out of town when I get back I will post exactly how I have it setup. If someone has a 270x 4GB card please share your .bat file with me ! Lol

He is stating that he get around 488, https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/r9-270x-4gb-model-hashing-speed-361041

3x488 consume 450W => 0.3074 w/kh/s. Diff around 20%, that is amazing imho.

Hi Ferris

So a single card pulls about 120 watt given that the MB swallows around 100W (Asrock 970 + Sempron 245).

If you could push the card higher than 400 kh/s it would actually outperform the R9 280X for 710-720kh/s.

As real world experience mentions that the 2GB card can reach 450kh/s, I would believe without any theoretical mumbling that the 4GB at least could perform the same and then some.

My mining rig consumes 800W (undervolted) with 3xR9 280X incl. MB consumption at 100W. That is around 0.38 W/KH/S for 700kh/s/card

If you have 3 cards you would consume 450W => 450/0.38 = 1184 / 3 = 394kh/s anything higher is pure win Smiley

Nice indeed Smiley

Hi Ferris

I've been looking at those card for a couple of days, do you know how many watt they consume from the wall?

I would assume they should at least be hashing with 700 kh/s and watt consumption at 200watt for each card.

A normal 7950 card:
Memory Clock   5000 MHz
Memory Size   3072 MB
Memory Bus   384 bit

Yours:
Memory Size 4096 MB Size
Memory Bus 256 -bit GDDR5
Memory Clock 5600 MHz Effective

Faster memory clock, but not being able to transfer at the same speed - but 1 gb more when it does..  Shocked

I have Gigabyte underclocked R9 280X they consume around 230-235 watt each card and produce 705-710 kh/s

well I got my computer plugged into a backup psu and it's saying 335 watts that's reading the computer with both video cards. If you do end up buying one and end up getting 700kh/s PLEASE tell me how ... I am a noob when it comes to this stuff I don't understand what any of the settings are I'm just copying other peoples setups in the .bat

I have the Gigabyte R9 270x 2GB Windforce and after a couple hours I was able to get it to 450-480kh/s. Using the same environment, W7x64 and cgminer 3.7.2, however I am using Catalyst Drivers 13.1:

Before you change your config, try running these two commands first and then rerun your batch file to see if it works:

setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 800
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1

If not, then try using this:

cgminer.exe --scrypt -o URL -u USER -p PASSWORD --no-submit-stale --verbose -I 19 -w 256 -g 1 --thread-concurrency 15232 --gpu-fan 85 --lookup-gap 2 --gpu-engine 1130 --gpu-memclock 1500 --gpu-powertune 20

Note, I have 2 of these cards, both machines are setup the same yet they do not use the same arguments/parameters. So just keep adjusting, trying, adjusting, trying, etc. until it comes about. Like I said it took me two hours to get the first one just right, not long for the second one. Having the other card can affect it so just try selecting that device or remove the card from the system if in doubt.

what in the hell is the setx percent @ 800??? I thought this was only to be at 100?

anyways to the op, you should get 420 plus easy. khash means little if your WU is not high for that is what the pools see. I been tweeking my 270s for over a month now and to be agitated after few hours... lolz.

anyways your TC seems rather low. Like the guy said under your post, make yourself a .bat .... and I would go as fat as making a .conf too....much easier to work with.
So the bat should be:
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
cgminer.exe

Then go on and make your .conf file

That TC you see is for the HD7770 the TC I'm using for the 270x is 15232 .... I'm new to all this stuff and don't really understand everything. I wouldn't even know where to begin to make a .conf file. But I did manage to make the .bat file . Honestly I bought this card because it was the 4gb card and guys on here were saying I should get higher hashrates with the 4gb rather than the 2gb but I seem to average 472kh/s I was hoping to get 500kh/s consistently . But I don't know much about overclocking and any of the stuff in my .bat file lol I just copied someone's specs for their 2gb card from the litecoin hardware comparison on wiki .

I just got my gigabyte r9 270x 4GB card today and when I try to run it with cgminer is hashes at 20kh/s which I know is not right this should be upwards of  400 kh/s atleast im new to all this I also have a gigabyte hd7770oc which hashes just fine at ~200kh/s please tell me what im doing wrong ive been messing with this for about an hour and a half and am just about ready to give up! I even tried to use the settings I found on the litecoin mining hardware wiki for the gigabyte r9 270x 2GB but when I do that I get a 61 error.

windows 7 x64
cgminer 3.7.2

this is my .bat d-0 is the new card

start cgminer.exe --scrypt -d 0 -o stratum+tcp://yum.bettercoin.org:3333 -u user.1 p x
start cgminer.exe --scrypt -d 1 -I 17 -g 1 -w 256 --thread-concurrency 8000 -o stratum+tcp://yum.bettercoin.org:3333 -u user.2 p x

Even if I disable the HD7770oc in the device manager it still doesn't want to work right.
