I am surprised that Ledger hasn't fixed the problem by because of how many updates have been released since the version that worked.  Makes me wonder why.
Ledger is major crap for just about anything more serious, so don't expect them to fix this any time soon.
They don't care about Bitcoin or full node support, they are more focused on adding new shitcoins, nft, partnership with watches, celebs and other mambo jumbo like that.
If you want to run full node with your hardware wallet go directly with Bitcoin Core software.

Thanks Dave and NeuroticFish,
The old version of LedgerLive did work and the Satstack software seems to be working, it found my transactions.  I am surprised that Ledger hasn't fixed the problem by because of how many updates have been released since the version that worked.  Makes me wonder why.

NeuroticFish I'll definitely take a look at trying the Electrum/Bitcoin Core setup.  Thanks again.

It was mentioned somewhere (reddit? github? blog somple? don't remember)  that it's on the to-list but it does require a lot of work AND very few people use it so it's not high up on the priority list.

Honestly except for the few people who did discuss it on github and the one thread on reddit, and you  Grin there has been very few complaints so I do see their point.

Anyone else experienced this problem?

I've tried very shortly some months ago use my Ledger with Bitcoin Core. I pretty quick gave up and instead I've installed locally an Electrum server (well, also a block explorer, but that may not be important here) and since then I use Electrum connecting to my local Electrum server connecting to my local Bitcoin Core. And it's a setup just fine for my Ledger.

In case it interests you, here's what I've done (under Windows + WSL). If you have a Linux it should be even easier.

You have to use an older version of the software, this has been a known issue for a while:
https://github.com/LedgerHQ/ledger-live-desktop/issues/4473

There are some discussions out there about other issues about connecting it to your own node it's not always painless.

Hi All,
Trying to connect my Ledger Nano S to the blockchain to send transactions through Bitcoin Core full node so I don't have to use the Ledger explorers.  I put rpcpassword and rcpuser in the bitcoin.conf file so I was able to connect to the full node.  But the next step is to get accounts from device to add to the node configuration file and i get UNKNOWN_ERROR (0x6a82).  Anyone else experienced this problem?
