In LL automatic update means the fresh  notification about available update which  is  turned on by default,  so to proceed with update you need to click "Download update".
Oh, you mean that thing. You are right in a way, I guess you can call that automatic compared to downloading and installing the software from their official website or GitHub. When you said automatic in your previous post, I thought the app does it somehow in the background without requiring the user to do anything. But the user still needs to approve by clicking on the update button.

I didn't know there was an option to turn on automatic updates for Ledger Live. Is it turned off by default? I can't remember turning it off when I initially set up my Ledger wallet and went through the settings menu to see what is on offer. Regardless, OP was experiencing issues with the firmware update, not the Ledger Live update process.

I am glad you got it fixed in the end.
Just for reference in case someone else faces the same problem that you had, which registry cleaning software did you end up using, and what is your operating system? Maybe not all of them work equally well, so it's good to know.

I was using ccleaner which has a standard cleaning procedure for cookies and stuff but apart from that it has a registry cleaner that, as I can see, cleans the remains of unistalled programs and I don't know if something else.

My operating system is Windows 10.

Hi, thanks!

I tried something else and it worked. I uninstalled LL again but this time after that I used a registry cleaner because when you uninstall an app there are still remnants of the app. Then, I reinstalled LL and this time it worked. I don't know if it was a coincidence or not.

First I upgraded to firmware 1.6 and then I had to upgrade to 2.0. I must have missed the last update because I have been using Electrum lately.

Since it's already solved, I thought about locking the thread but I think I'll leave it open in case something similar happens to someone else and in these boads there's no danger of the thread getting full of shitpost replies.

Well. I may try that later on but the point is, I don't have any apps installed AFAIK. I mean, not extra apps. I just have bitcoin and I don't do transactions often, I mainly HODL.
You might as well try to update the Bitcoin app to the newest version (if it isn't already) and see if that fixes anything. Although it shouldn't have an affect on the firmware upgrade, but who knows.

The other two possibilities is to contact Ledger support and explaining in detail what is happening.
Resetting your hardware device to factory settings, recovering from seed, and trying it all over again.

But check with Ledger support first. Be prepared to wait though, they aren't exactly the fastest to respond.

What app are you installing/uninstalling?

Ledger Live.

He got it fixed by installing the latest VeChain app on his device. Try and uninstall your apps manually before updating the firmware, maybe that will fix it. Or updating them to the newest versions.

Is your Ledger Live updated to the newest version which is currently 2.35.2?

Yes

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app and I get the same error.
What app are you installing/uninstalling?
I came across this reddit post where another user had the same error on the Nano X while using VeChain. He got it fixed by installing the latest VeChain app on his device. Try and uninstall your apps manually before updating the firmware, maybe that will fix it. Or updating them to the newest versions.
There are several threads where people complained seeing that error in connection to their Litecoin, but like you said, they fixed it by installing the newest firmware and LTC app.

If I use electrum, it doesn't matter if I don't update the firmware? I guess it is better to update, isn't it?
Yeah, you should still be using the latest firmware for various reasons such as vulnerability and bug fixes, stability improvements, etc.

Is your Ledger Live updated to the newest version which is currently 2.35.2?

I too saw the fixing of the error

If you look at it, it is not the same. I am talking about the error: 0X6d00 whereas that is error 0x6b00. Changes one letter. Although that is the only result that appears in Ledger's support page. On reddit there are several posts about the 0x6b00 error, but they didn't help me.

I am not a Ledger user, but the firmware update would be necessary because it is good to update to the latest version, especially during vulnerability fix which will require firmware update.

I too saw the fixing of the error which you implied to have already done but not fixed, or maybe you are still not getting something right. Let us see other people's opinion and experience about this.

I am trying to update the firmware but an error message appears:

"Something went wrong. Please reconnect your device.
Ledger device: INS_NOT_SUPPORTED (0X6doo)"

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app and I get the same error.

I have searched google and there are some threads about that error, but curiously, in some of them the problem, which was another one, was solved by updating the firmware. The problem is that I can't update it.
