Hello. I use dogecoin core for save my dogecoin but i have lose all my file with my wallet.dat .

I have find one very olde same wallet.dat in a old computer that i use 5 years before.
But when i try to open the dogecoin core with this wallet I cantot see the correct amount of dogecoin that i really have in my wallet.
I really have 8000 dogecoin in my wallet adresse, but since i restore the dogecoin core with the old wallet.dat i see only 0.01 dogecoin with the same adresse.
When i open the dogecoin core with the old wallet.dat i wait very long time for rescanning

Can I do something for fix this please ?
Wallet need complete synch to show the actual balance left, so you have to wait until the scanning completes. Dogecoin core wallet supposed to be similar with the bitcoin ( I guess though).

As others suggested its better to export the keys to other wallets than waiting for the Doge coin core wallet to respond because it seems like it may need forever for full sync.

I've tried it and you actually can't download the Dogecoin's block chain. I searched for nodes, but none of them was sending me the blocks sufficiently. I was getting connections like 1KB per second which is obviously not enough to cover the whole chain in one man's life. The whole situation with Dogecoin is ridiculous, none of the people that found in the internet cares about that part.

If you have dogecoins and you want to spend them, you can dump the private key and then import it to exodus, although I don't tend to recommend closed-source wallets. That's what I did. The developers have abandoned (?) the development of Multidoge and I couldn't even set it up.

I don't believe that there's a more centralized fork of Bitcoin than Dogecoin. Still there are believers of this ponzi.

As for the main thread, you'll never get a proper response except if you wanna find out about the price or when SpaceX will send it to the Moon™ for no reason.

For dumping your private key, open Dogecoin Core and click onto the console. You should enter that:
Code:
dumpprivkey [ADDRESS_HERE]

Did you say "same address"? Means that you're not spending them and just using the same address since 2016?
Then seeing it when you restored the wallet.dat is a good sign, means that the private key of that address in in your wallet.
If so, you just have to finish the rescan, that will take a while but it wont cost you any internet bandwidth.

In comparison, it could take hours to a day or more in Bitcoin Core.
