But according to ledger FAQ, it can operate on MacOS 10.10(OS X Yosemite) quoted below
Huh. I was reading from this page (https://shop.ledger.com/products/ledger-nano-x), which says Big Sur / Monterey / Ventura, which are 11 / 12 / 13 respectively.

Another thing to try would be running Electrum with root privileges.

Does the error includes any "Debug message" below?
The always identical debug message is "No exceptions occurred". Thank you.
Then it indicates that Electrum doesn't know the cause of the issue.
May be caused by interference in the connection like previously mentioned by others.

The error didn't tell much.
How about the answers to the questions given by o_e_l_e_o? Ledger Nano X's Firmware & Electrum version?

Non-custodial BTC Wallet
according to their website, this is straight foward.

You need to unlock your device and select BITCOIN app to use it on electrum

Quote
Connect and unlock your Ledger device.
Open the Bitcoin app.
Launch Electrum from your applications folder. The install wizard opens.
Leave the default wallet name and click Next.
Select Standard wallet and click Next.
At the keystore screen, select Use a hardware device and click Next.
Select your Ledger device and click next.
Choose the right derivation path for your account and click Next:
Legacy for an account that has addresses starting with a 1
p2sh-segwit for an account that has addresses starting with a 3
Native segwit for an account with addresses starting with a bc1

Block halving is coming.
Yes, but Ledger state that the Nano X is only compatible with macOS 11, 12, and 13. If his OS is older than this, than that might be the issue.

Can Ledger Nano X operate on its own?
Ledger Nano X requires either a desktop computer (at least 64-bit Windows 8.1, macOS 10.10 or 64-bit Linux) or a smartphone (at least iOS 9 or Android 7) to install apps, to add accounts, to check account balances and to manage secure transactions.

Unless they remove support on the latest version?

@OP have you tried to check if your Nano X will work on other devices or in Windows OS?

If not, there is a possibility that your Nano X has a hardware issue it's either the USB cable or the USB port, or possible if it's brand new and came from Ledger it might be defective you can send them back to Ledger for warranty or replacement.

Can anyone help me? Thank you very much.
You don't need to use Ledger live for anything that than for firmware update, but if connection with Electrum is not working than I would reinstall both Electrum and Ledger live.
If Electrum is not working after that for some reason than you can try installing alternative Sparrow wallet that works perfectly with Electrum.
Maybe it's something related to MacOS but I can't help you with that.

What OS are you using? Are Ledger Live, and the Ledger Bitcoin App both up to date? Are your USB drivers up to date?

Unfortunately, I cannot establish a connection between the Electrum and the Nano X.
I always get the message "No hardware device detected".
Does the error includes any "Debug message" below?
If there is, enable logging so you can see the full error in your debug log.

The always identical debug message is "No exceptions occurred". Thank you.

If there is, enable logging so you can see the full error in your debug log.

You can enable it in: "Tools->Preferences->Misc->Write logs to file" (requires an app restart)
Then you can access the logs in electrum data directory, "logs" folder.
If nothing works, it might be an error worth reporting to the developers or Electrum or Ledger.

Make sure you only have either Ledger Live OR Electrum open, and not both. They can conflict with each other if both trying to access your hardware wallet at the same time.

Go through this link and see maybe it could be of help https://support.ledger.com/hc/en-us/articles/115005161925-Set-up-and-use-Electrum?docs=true

Probably grasping at straws here, but have you tried:

1. Restarting the computer... DO NOT start Ledger Live, just start Electrum and see if it detects the device
2. Plugging the Nano X into a different USB port (windows should detect it as a "new" device), then see if Electrum can see it

I have installed the latest versions of my ledger Nano-X and Electrum for Mac (4.4.5)
and "Ledger-Live" finds the Nano X as well.

I have also opened the BTC app on the Ledger, of course.

Unfortunately, I cannot establish a connection between the Electrum and the Nano X.
I always get the message "No hardware device detected".

Can anyone help me? Thank you very much.
