There's nothing wrong with profit. profit should never be a dirty word. If you make good money in crypto, never be afraid to sell to realise that cash. Keep on earning... keep on cashing in. It's great fun crypto at the moment as it's still the Wild West. Fortunes can be made and lost. And there's still higher highs to come so make sure you are ready to move on it.

Hey guys,

In order to benefit, will I have to cash out bitcoin when it gets high? That would mean i would have to sell it for dollar or other currency.
When i am buying online with coin, if it says the shirt is for $25, will they calculate how much $25 is worth in BTC at the current market rate or
how much it originally started with? If its at the current market rate, then whats the point of bitcoin if i am not profitting?

This is the nature of bitcoin. You have to cash out for benefit. Buying in low price and sell it in high can only gives you profit other wise hold them until you get the reward of holding and patience. Actually there's no point of holding bitcoin for Forever, Hold bitcoin is good but you should not be greedy if you feel the price is up you have to sell on that time. The store should accept the bitcoin or you have to exchange it with fiat for buying.

"whats the point of bitcoin if i am not profitting?"  Maybe because bitcoin didn't exist to make you profit?? Bitcoin is invented to replace fiat, or at least to go together with fiat depending what your views are. BITCOIN IS NOT A MONEYMAKING SCHEME.

You are absolutely correct. Let's be honest here, however. We all know Bitcoin is only as popular as it is because it's being used for profit. It doesn't even have a shot in replacing fiat as things currently stand.

I'm very optimistic about where Bitcoin can go in the future, both in value and utility, but it can't be denied that at the moment, what it does best is storing and multiplying your money. Granted, it's not a moneymaking scheme per se, but it can be used to make money all the same. It sucks, yes, but it's the truth.

"We all know Bitcoin is only as popular as it is because it's being used for profit". I agree, not entirely, but I'm pretty sure majority of the people are only in it for the money; I mean, even grandparents are getting in on bitcoin for the profits. Though I think it has a shot in replacing fiat, but the chances are quite low. Though I can see bitcoin surviving as a payment method along with fiat.

I agree Bitcoin can survive along side of fiat. For Bitcoin to thrive, I believe it has to gain more of a mainstream appeal. It's really upto to each of us to become an ambassador in the support for and growth for bitcoin and crypto currency as a whole.

Well, you would make a profit if you sell your BTC at a higher price, yes. Transversely, if you buy a $25 shirt online with BTC, it's better to buy that shirt when the BTC price is LOW, so you save money. The shirt is always $25, but it's worth in BTC will be changing.

Hope this helps Smiley

If you feel like you have gained from your investment then do the cash out. Everything is for you to decide whether or not you sell or you hold. At the end of the day, your decision will make you feel like you really own your investment. Just remember that every decision you make, just don't regret and always monitor on the price to prevent your trade to a loss.
Exactly, as decision is in everyone's hands and there is no way you can absolutely know what even the future holds for any of your holding. Anyone looking for a benefit in this market asides holding should be able to understand how the market fluctuation works than just trying to make some blind mistakes of trying to trade the market fluctuations without some knowledge. It makes a lot of sense trying to increase your position in btc from it, but you will be reducing it when doing it wrongly.

Yes, you will need to cash out Bitcoin to make profit out of it. That means to sell Bitcoin for fiat.

As for your question about the $25 shirt, the calculation will be based on $25 worth of BTC at the current market rate. You are still profiting if you bought your Bitcoin at a lower rate than current market rate. Take this as an example, if you buy BTC at $1000 and current BTC market rate is $7000 when you want to buy the shirt.

$25 worth of BTC when you buy at $1000: BTC 0.025
$25 worth of BTC at $7000 (Buying shirt timing): 0.00357143

Hence you spend BTC 0.00357143 for the $25 shirt and have balance of BTC 0.02142857

There is no profit unless you cash out.  If Bitcoin went to 50m per coin and you didn't cash out anything you won't have made a profit.  There is a time to buy and a time to sell.  And sometimes a time to hodl.
This is the reason why some exchanges have a way you can hedge your funds and benefit from the huge fluctuation or volatility in bitcoin. Sure, it is either you are holding or you are trading either short term or long depending on your pattern which most long investors always use the trend following to benefit from the market and to do that, fiat is always the best means to hold and buy back at the bottom.

Everyones loves to have a profit.
Bitcoin is there to help people to have a good
profit to have an investment but you need to
work hard for it.
This is not even about working hard; this is just simply about being smart. Normally, an experienced investor always know what to do and moments like this, they tend to buy more when people are scared of buying.

Yeah, if you do not have much to invest, you may work for it, which the platform has given the chance to help some acquire that but in all sense, you have to be smart when investing in cryptocurrency and not end up joining the band wagon of FOMOs and understanding the reason why you are investing in the first place.

BTC uses for payment is compared with USD value in general. so if BTC value rise over USD, the price of the shirt will be lesser BTC.
but for the future, i think BTC value won't be compared to USD value anymore if everyone use bitcoin in daily.

When the price of Bitcoin reached a certain amount that you want to take your profit, of course you will need to cash it out before you can say that you made a profit because if not, it is still on a risk of dropping its value. When buying online using Bitcoin it is automatically calculated by the software or wallet that you use for sending Bitcoin, every wallet has its own source of exchange rate (some have options to change the exchange rate source), for example the wallet you are using use the exchange rate of coinbase that wallet will base that value of current exchange rate of coinbase.

To make profit you would have to buy low and wait for the price to go up which is when you should sell. Prices online are calculated according to the going rate of bitcoin at the time of purchase so the price of the commodity would be it's equivalent in bitcoin at that point. If you want to make profit then selling in a bull market is what you should do but you just have to be patient.
Yeah, most especially for those who are looking for the short term benefits rather than the long term but I always insist that anyone who wants to thread this route should always know what they are doing because that is more or less trying to thread the path of a trader which requires some knowledge, understanding of the market and experience.

Most especially when it has to do with bitcoin and those who tried without knowledge only ended up messing up badly at the end as they get fueled by emotions that the market generates since they are busy making emotional decisions and gambling their positions in the market.

If coin replaces dollar, then what will coin base its rate on? Right now we can convert dollar to coin and know what that dollar is worth.
Yes of course it will give you a lot of profit. The risk of loss is very little bit because many people nowadays are investing money in bitcoin and taking advantage from it and it’s changing the lives of people and you can definitely earn more profit by investing in bitcoin or any other crypto currency. A long term investment may help you more in this way, you will be able to make your future bright and can lead a very happy life.

In my opinion, profit or no profit is depend how you have done with your bitcoin and the way you earn it. There are many ways for you to invest and earning money from your bitcoin such as trading or exchanging. Basically, buy in when with the low price and sell out when the price become higher is the usual option which many people doing now. As you can see that bitcoin is cryptocurrency, a thing you cannot touch or feel so exchanging bitcoin to money will make you feel profitable if you just want to feeling safe about your investment, it is a good option some way ! However, holding and having detail strategies will help you invest effectively.
If you have bitcoins in your wallet and you hold them for some time then there is no doubt you will get profit because as we see the price of bitcoin is rising day by day and I guess that till the end of this year the price will be more than 20000 dollars. I have never heard that one who bought bitcoin and lose his investment because the price is consistently increasing. It was dropped once when china banned ICO but soon it gained its price again and jumped up more and more in the previous 3 months.

Yeah in bitcoin the most important thing is holding of bitcoin and if you will hold bitcoin it will give you profit. In past bitcoin was good but it was not being use at high level but now bitcoin is helping a lot of people like me. It is good to secure bitcoin even If you are buying at low level and holding for long time you will see bitcoin growth even in very short time and saving of bitcoin is all time beneficial.

Personally I think bitcoin is not just about making profit out of the coins that you have. It is also about working and making some effort to generate the bitcoins you pull which in return will be the fruit of your hardwork online. If we look on the side of trading bitcoins, then it will not be a wise decision to just simply buy and sell your bitcoin without learnibmg and observing its trend.

You can make a profit by selling your bitcoin. But if your bitcoin buying price is higher than the selling price, you will incur loss instead of profit.
that's right, with we sell the bitcoin we have, of course we get big enough profit, with note that bitcoin price that price is going up, not down. then the coin price rises it when we sell must get a profit.

The trick is for the long run. Imagine if you managed to get in an held btcs from last year? Your investments would've been almost 10 times its original value. For me, if you really nees it, then withdraw what you need and keep everything where they are
Still it will be a good decision if we can hold our bitcoin. No doubt that people have got more than 10 time profit as compare to the origional value of bitcoin but i think that still it can give us a good profit if we will mange to hold our bitcoin for some more time. Because bitcoin still has the potential and its price will continue increasing for a long time and even those people who will invest money in bitcoin right now they will also get a good profit after some time. Therefore i think holding bitcoin will be a good decision in present time.

Bitcoin even though the value is high is useless until it is cashed out for fiat in the process and for you to profit with bitcoins after buying, the value has to rise so that we can make some profit, when that doesn't you are just not profiting at all.

Yeah I think you should cash out when you have got enough of profit and expecting bitcoin's value to fall. That would be profitable for you. Also they calculate the price of online things as in the value of bitcoin currently of course. Or no one would actually buy those things with bitcoins. If you had invested earlier in bitcoin your money would surely have increased alot as bitcoin has grown alot lately, so you will gain alot of profit of course.

A lot of the profits that people have right now, are the same profits that you're describing. It's the paper profit, something that a lot of people mistake for real profit as they think that they're going to be able to sell at some point (I'm talking themselves being allowed to sell, facilitated by THEMSELVES PSYCHOLOGICALLY)

So profit is only realized when you fully sell for Fiat and have the money in a safe place, be it your bank account or some other safe spot for you.

The trick is for the long run. Imagine if you managed to get in an held btcs from last year? Your investments would've been almost 10 times its original value. For me, if you really nees it, then withdraw what you need and keep everything where they are

The profit of the bitcoin depend upon on your investment in the bitcoin and also it depend on the time for how long you hold these bitcoin. If you make high investment and hold your bitcoin for a long time then your profit will be definitely high. If you invest low income in the bitcoin and hold them for long time then it will also generate a good benefit but if you invest a low income and hold fir a short time then you profit will be low or may be not profit.

You can make a profit by selling your bitcoin. But if your bitcoin buying price is higher than the selling price, you will incur loss instead of profit.

Don't you think you are expecting something which is irrelevant in terms of market trading. You are buying something today and you want its prices to be of last year, this not business. If you want profit from bitcoin you have to do what every body does that buying in low price and selling it in high price that's the only way to make profit. Not just with bitcoin it is same with every cryptocurrency. You can decide whether you want to sell your btc to get other alt coin or in fiat.

Your bitcoin amount would still the same on how much you put in your wallet, if you want to buy something online then the amount of that stuff will compute on how much is that stuff in your currency. If you already gain profit in your wallet with your currency it will still there as long as you are just spending the amount of what you are buying.

Bitcoin is full of profit there is no chance of any lose here what is important here that is its price always check the price f bitcoin because bitcoin price really matter if you will not check the price of bitcoin then you can less lose here otherwise bitcoin is only profit two months before I did a mistake and one day I did not check the price of bitcoin and I sell all my bitcoins and as a result I lose in bitcoin and know I can’t forget that moment because that was my own mistake.

Exchange of BTC to dollars happens at the current rate with BTC. so it is worth buying when BTC rate increases , so you can buy shirt or any goods or any item with lesser BTC amount . It is always best to buy BTC at lower rate and sell it at higher rate. so when you buy any goods it is beneficial for you because you are buying items or shirt at  lesser BTC rates . now BTC rate is increasing rapidly day by day.

Its not a trophy that when you earned it all you have to do is display in a good trophy case and that's it. You have to use it so that circulation of Bitcoin will continue but of course make sure that what you will spend is already the profits/fruits of your labor from you capital. You have to enjoy and your profits or else whats the purpose of investing in it.

- Yes if you need to pull out profit you have to exchange bitcoin for USD or your local fiat wit bitcoin ATM near by you.
- It depends upon on the merchants from where you are buying those tshirt or any other items, mostly they will set price in fiat and bitpay like third party payment processors will automatically show amount of bitcoin equal to that amount at the time of purchase.
- Bitcoin was worthless when it was first mined so virtually its price started with zero $ per bitcoin.

Yes you would have to sell your Bitcoins for fiat when the price of BTC gets high. You can also hold it for more profit but if you want to take the profits out then selling it for fiat or any currency is the only way.
The purpose of Bitcoin itself was to be used for peer to peer transactions. So the price has to be the current market price for every thing you want to buy. You can make profit while purchasing things since then it will act as a mode of payment. If you want to take the profits out then you must be trading BTC. There are differences in these things which you should understand.

I think you should have confidence that Bitcoin can be profitable, you can sell Bitcoin when it suits your condition. besides that when you already have the advantage then I suggest to immediately take action. Do not wait too long because it can hold you back. Bitcoin is very different compared to other investments, Bitcoin offers a much bigger and more profitable thing.

The day you decided to get involved in this platform, i think you did the research that BTC is not an investing company. It is a decentralized cryptocurrency which were just used to invest and make transactions quicker than the fiat because it is digital.

Of course you will have to cash out your Bitcoin to be able to get the profit, if not your money is still in danger when the price drops but also possible to gain more when the price increases. If you buy an items using Bitcoin, for example you will buy a shirt worth $25, you will pay that amount Bitcoin in the current price in the market. How can you profit from using Bitcoin to pay for goods? lol. I think you are missing the point, to be able to make profit you must invest money on Bitcoin and wait for the price to increase then cash it out. Bitcoin is supposed to be a currency to buy things online but now people are taking advantage of its volatility to make profit.

The crypto currency financial system is only being created. It is not even ten years old, in contrast to the system of fiat money. I am sure that 2018 will become a stone on the grave of fiat money. Many issues are not legally regulated.
The important thing is how your country's tax service will answer your question.

If its at the current market rate, then whats the point of bitcoin if i am not profitting?

two things:

1. you are using a decentralized currency unless that means nothing to you, then why have you even bought bitcoin in first place?

2. imagine you bought $25 worth of bitcoin 1 months ago at $5000, that is 0.005BTC and now you want to buy that shirt for $25. and with current price which is $19000 you have to pay ~0.001316BTC (ignoring all the fees and assuming you can buy $25 worth of bitcoin!)
do you see the profit or not?

Typically in order to see if you really want to see if you benifited or earned a lot of money in bitcoin is to sell high when you bought it a low specific price. And in order for you to feel or realized you have really earn on your investments you have to cash it out to check what returns you gain, because remember bitcoin price is not stable it changes from time to time.
yes, I agree with you, that the price of bitcoin traffic always shows fluctuations quickly. and I used to do, if I already benefit from the purchase, then I will immediately sell it.

yes, surely how will you benefit if you do not sell it at a high price? will you hold for a long time? i guess you will not be able to.
you must have good calculations and observations, otherwise you will incur losses. At least you have a slight advantage of the altcoin you buy.

Obviously, you have to cash out, otherwise, you'll end up being a holder.

If the store accepts Bitcoin but the price is in fiat , then it means they will only take in account the amount in fiat currency, not how much $25 is worth in btc. But just to be sure, it's better if you contact customer support.

how much it originally started with? If its at the current market rate, then whats the point of bitcoin if i am not profitting?
Not sure what you meant here but, the point of Bitcoin isn't to make you gain profits.

If coin replaces dollar, then what will coin base its rate on? Right now we can convert dollar to coin and know what that dollar is worth.
This will never happen so need to worry about that.

Of course. You don't make profit(in fiat) in trading if you don't cash out.

You got it mixed up. If you bought bitcoin at a lower price, and try to buy an item for the current price(higher) with the bitcoin you bought, then of course you bought that shirt for less bitcoin than the past price. Hence, saving significant amounts of money, depending on how low you bought your BTC and what the current price is.
