Hey miners !

I built my first gpu rig in early 2016 and now I have more GPUs and 3 ASIC on BTC but I still have my first rig 6x R9 290 mining ETC and DBIX a small bit profitably! (I'm from QC, electricity is not too expensive here) but I will sell those gpu soon.

I am looking to up my mining game, what would you buy those days? ASIC and GPU are hard to find at a good price I know...  Undecided
and if I buy GPU what is my best bet ? 5708G or 1660 or newer card?

Sell those R9 290 for gamers on ebay, some are still using old gpu for intense gaming till date, just don't raise price too much if not you won't see anyone to patronize you, after selling buy some Ethereum and hold, you will make profits faster this way than buying rigs right now
Do you really thing that gamers want to buy R290 now? It`s easy to but GTX 1063 for $100 or RX470-580 with 4GB for same price. This is more interesting case then R9.

Buy graphic cards for mining after bull season is over, right now it's best to invest money on altcoin, building mining rigs later will be piece of cake for you because you would have made enough money, you will be able to build the miners of your dream and also have enough money, investing in altcoins is better than investing in miners right now

Yeah, like I already said many other times, gpus are only better if you can buy at msrp price, other than that, forget. Paying $1000 for a 3800 is like paying $1000 for eth, would you buy eth right now for $1000 seeing the price as $611? That is my point, buying eth right now has potential, I don't see potential buying gpus at current prices.

Right now you can buy 3060ti, 3070 or 1660s from VIDIA or 5600XT, or 5700 from AMD. 1660s and 5600XT have only 6GB memory, but they have the best ROI. 3070 is same as 3060ti with mining ETH but 10-15% better with other algos, but costs $100 higher. 5700(XT) is near 3060ti-3070 at ETH(55 vs 58-59) but cheaper, the problem is to use it with other algos.
There is no one answer, choose what is your best GPU.
As for me - the best GPUs are 5600XT and 3060ti.

Gtx1660 electricity costs isn't free in your country, the advantage of rx570 over gtx1660 is they are cheaper, you can also buy fairly used rx570 on ebay at cheaper rate but gtx1660 supports more algorithms than rx570, for future proof its better to choose gtx1660 super or ti

all those card are extremely hard to find in stock here in QC. I will buy some when I see available at good price for sure.

I did find 4x 570 8G and 2x 580 8G at a good price, even those card are hard to find in stock at a reasonable prices now. and I also got a antminer S17+.   Smiley

It's insane times we are living, scarcity of some components, BTC bullrun, pandemic etc, so we can say what to buy will depend of pricing and availability

3060ti is a good choice now, hashing 61Mhs with 120w power consumption, 3070 will hash the same
3080 are beasts, doing 100Mhs with 240 to 250w

But it is extremely hard to find at MSRP, miners and gamers are buying everything

5600xt, 5700 and 5700xt are good choices too, it's easier to find at a reasonably price and have good hashrates and power consumption

Anything below 3060ti will have a 192 Bit interface, so much lower than 3060ti.
For ETH the 3060ti will stay first pick.

3060Ti  - good choice.
But if you take your time, then wait for the tests 3060 and 3050.
Perhaps they will be an even better purchase for mining
