I have a duo core 3.6Ghz CPU and a 1gb AMD GPU :| and I don't really have any intention of buying a new one or upgrading this one since I don't really need it. I was just asking about alt-coin mining to see if I can make something while I'm away from my pc.

You will just burning your GPU on mining since your PC is a low end setup. That settings will not be profitable since you have a slow processor and old GPU. Don't risk your PC on mining.  It will just destroy soon once it overused on it. Just buy a ant miner.

Well not quite, depending on you PSU could get a 1070, 1080 or 1080 ti - the CPU doesn't really matter... As your computer stands, it's not worth mining anything

We need all your hardware specs in order to provide an answer that is even remotely useful. If we know the hardware then we can direct you towards the apt profitability calculators. Wink

What low end coin would be best mined if you only got 1 GPU (970 gtx)?

yup they need more info , some low end PC can't handle any thing coins wise  and some Low end PC can mine some coins, pretty good .as far as I'm a ware, you can't mine coins without using some kind of hardware and software  unless the coin is meant to be mined for so long and then the only way to get it. is trade or mine it thu the wallet, I forget what that is called,  some coins you can't mine at all and have to be bought an traded but if you like mining you need some nice gear to get any were, even if it's a hobby . Mining confirms the old saying: you have to spend money to make money .

I'm thinking about mining some altcoin but I'm worried will it be profitable at all. I was thinking of a coin like Orbitcoin, low diff seems good for me, but I wanted to ask someone from personal experience if there's any coin that's worth mining without a miner.
