I think it'd be more cost effective to buy a commercially available li-ion UPS than it would be to pay somebody to do this for you. If you were doing it yourself and utilised a UPS with dead lead acid batteries, then it would make sense.

I'm in the UK, so the cost of shipping counts me out, but I'm interested in this kind of thing and 18650's in particular.

Edit - I somehow glazed over that you already have a UPS. Apologies. You're looking for a battery pack to connect to the UPS. Got it Smiley

Edit 2 - This is the official external battery for that model. https://www.cyberpowersystems.com/product/ups/bp72v60art2u/ and you can use up to 10. They're made up of 12x 12V/9AH lead acid. I'll have a think and play with a calculator.

Looking for a hardware expert, and a DIY expert. Li-ion batteries are much more efficient in comparison to lead based for UPS.

66.1 Pounds for this UPS, and only gives 47 mins for 300 watts. The person in above managed to do 2 hours and 30 mins for 300 watts.

Project Concept:

-Using efficient compact Lithium ion batteries.
-Build a device that is superior in battery life, for example 500 watts last 2-4 hours instead of 30 mins.
-incorporate safeness into the build
-Have an LCD screen with status, battery life, wattage usage, etc.
-A nice case, preferably black
-Write a nice logo on this device called "Blue Power"
-Lighter then 66 pounds if possible, and of reasonable compact size.

Quote the BTC cost, for the labor, parts, and device.
