The importance of AMA series cannot be over emphasized.  Whenever I join an AMA series, my mindset is tilted towards gaining more crypto knowledge widening my understanding generally and most importantly an understanding of the project in question

I want to assume that not everyone in the crypto space knows what Cryptocurrency AMA is and that not everyone knows the importance of this great tool called AMA.

Simply put, Cryptocurrency AMA means Ask Me Anything related to cryptocurrency..
So when it comes to the AMA section for a project, it simply means you can ask the team of the project anything related to that project and you can sometimes digress a little to ask on general cryptocurrency questions just to truly test the knowledge of the team, if they understand why they have decided to bring blockchain technology on their project.

AMA should be an interesting and interactive section which is very much anticipated for, both by the team of the project and the crypto community, which could be in form of live video chat on social media, such as Fecebook, Wechat and the likes. It could also be in form of live text chats, such as that done on telegram.

However, I have discovered that not every project team does AMA. For some who manage to do it, they sometimes wave off important and technical questions. I spite of that, there are some project team, who are bold and proud of their project. They have the full knowledge and understanding of their project and their knowledge about cryptocurrency, blockchain technology and its market is not a wash. These are the set of people that crypto enthusiasts look forward to.

What I am saying invariably is that, if a project team cannot hold a good AMA with her community, such project might not last long and might be a scam project. Conversely, a good project team will always embrace any question related to Cryptocurrency and her project, without mincing words. A team that is ready to do this will surely have a product, even though it is work in progress. Such project is what investors will like to join.

In Conclusion, Cryptocurrency AMA is a great tool when it comes to decision making, as related to Cryptocurrency investment.
Thanks.
I agree that AMA is necessary for investors to get a better understanding of the project, but nowadays some team members who have been in this space for so long will answer any technical question whatsoever during AMA session even though they are not legit. I usually prefer live AMA done on YouTube , it creates more confidence in investment seeing the team reply to questions live. I once asked technical questions during an AMA session done in a telegram group to know how legit the team is and I was removed immediately, that gave an instant red flag for that project and I also informed my group members to back off.

This is interesting way to know if developers and their projects are scams or not. I remember back in 2017 or 2018 I asked a cryptocurrency "developers" few technical questions concerning his/her project, his answer was quite disappointing and I stopped visiting the project telegram group due to this.

I don't think the video chat is necessary... except maybe for developers who are OK with revealing their identities.
if they are asking for investors to invest in them they  should not be affraid making AMA and revealing thier true identity. In that way investors will trust thier project. And most of the project right now is given thier true identity unless the project is scam and  They are afraid of being themselves because they are afraid of being charged if they make a fraud investment.

AMA is a great tool for the team member to interact with their community but it can not be used as an indicator to see a legitimate of the project.
usually the team member holds AMA to educate their community about their unique technology that can not be searched randomly on the internet or explaining their current situation if some problem occurs internally. So using AMA when it comes to decision making in investment is not a good idea, what you need to invest is not their AMA but their technology.
AMA does not prove anything but technology proves something.
I have seen a project that likes doing an AMA and I do not think it is a good investment, RVN if you are asking me.
In addition, besides functioning as an educational media, indirectly AMA also has functions as a promotional media for their platform. This is proven after or before the AMA ends, the price of their tokens on the market always goes up.

The more it could help if the team uploads the AMA video to their youtube channel for it will prove how much confident they can face their investors and not just the text base chat AMA. There are projects who did this in the past actually but some of them still wind up to be a scam. Investors may believe them it as proof they can stand up criticism and defend their stand but its all just for the show. What investors really have to see is the product that works already not just fill with words and this is why I'm strong to projects like EOS, ONTOLOGY and TRON for we already can see with such a period of time, they provided results to their hard work and not just AMA.

Some scam projects like gonetwork and swissborg ever created AMA in the past and many more scam projects have already used AMA but they are all ended as scam projects right now.

AMA can't be a good indicator if such a project can be considered as a scam or not just because the team has already revealed its face to the public. Remember scam is not only about running away with the investor's money. But some projects are doing bad job through changing their roadmap as what they want and they have forgotten the agreement that has already made with the investor.

I have followed several good projects at the early start which has already turned as a scam project right now. I remember when I watched iconomi AMA and it's also a scam project right now.

Currently AMA is an almost mandatory condition for each project to increase confidence & ability to raise capital from investors. However, some projects with good AMA, such as TIM (blockchain 1M tps), have suffered heavy failures in ICO.

AMA is a very interesting and good event. We follow AMA can add insight from their project deeper. Not only that we are also given a quiz and we ask and will be rewarded in the AMA event. AMA will be a popular event today. Almost every day there is a project making the AMA event. This is a new breakthrough that exists on crypto, in assessing a good project or not.

AMA is very important for those of us who want to find out more about the project to be launched by the developer. To be honest, I prefer projects that do AMA. So I know to whom I put money and what they are doing. Indeed, for the future, no one knows what the project will be like. At least they show seriousness in developing their projects and want to be open to their investors. It's better if the AMA is done continuously according to the updates they make to the project. So investors understand in detail where they stand.

AMA builds confidence and trust between the team and it's investors. I've been to some project where the team conducts AMA for investors to meet the team, get updated with the project and inquire any questions about the project. It is indeed a great tool to gauge the legitimacy and future plans of the project.

It's great to know about that kind of project "Ask the team". Honestly, this is my first time seeing a project that can answer questions about a certain project. But i don't think this can be useful in a long run. They may give wrong answers, not that i doubt it but reality is that it may ruined the AMA's reputation if they answer the wrong info.

Given a situation that they are helping one by just answering questions but isn't more fair and convenient to ask the "real team" behind the project we are being ask for?

"Asking the team anything"is wonderful, there is no doubt that it could be a way of understanding more about the project as well as what they intend to do with their product, it's promotion and use.

Aside from this AMA not being a guarantee for a successful project, I think the investors and hunters of most altcoin bounties asks the wrong questions when they are giving such opportunities. I've been privy to participate in such session and the majority of the questions were on when the project would list, how many exchanges do they plan on listing, How long would it take the project to get to the moon etc.

Such irrelevant questions aren't supposed to be asked, questions on use cases and how the product would operate on the blockchain network is what I expect people to ask when this opportunity is presented to them, this way the team is tasked and it'll be known if indeed they have any plans.

We can say that the AMA is a good thing for us to know how widely the team members knows about their own project or their knowledge about cryptocurrency and blockchain technology but never rely your judgement on AMA only because sometimes people are only good at sweet talk.

The ANN thread would really be enough for anyone to ask anything to the team. The old teams who posted an ANN thread are brave enough to expose ones self for questioning but other teams just created bounty threads and that's it. All other questions you can post it on telegram channel which are going to be buried when. I can't even find my question whether its answered or not in the chat channel. Team who does AMA aren't all legit though, we've seen it all in before.

i compare these new projects to how Satoshi did it
If they are soliciting money, they should do AMAs, NOT be Anon, basically Dox most their team for investors to be VERY transparent
but, if they are not asking for a penny and just saying "heres what we built if you wanna try it, its open source" (like Satoshi), then they dont NEED to do AMAs imo

I do like projects that does an AMA. Aside from educating their community members, teams can also use it to attract more investors. Binance has been lending their telegram channel to these teams to conduct an AMA and some marketing also.

Just be careful though because not all teams who does this are 100% legit.
