I'm not sure what does "regulated" mean here. If you're referring to how government regulate ads and provide sanction for scammers, I don't think that's the case here. Forum members can give negative feedback and so on, but I'd not call it a regulated environment. At least that's my understanding of the moderation policy.[1] CMIIW.

I do agree that you need to follow the forum rules to maintain a decent brand image here. Spamming your service on your post would likely make you end up on ignore list or even a ban.

Considering that he failed to get any merits in more than 5 years, probably it means that he have no idea what he is talking about. If there would be ''legitimate and regulated environment'', then probably scams like 1xbit wouldn't be allowed to advertise here. Actually, with regualtions and similar stuff then probably only exchanges with KYC requirements would be able to advertise on Bitcointalk.

Focusing on platforms like Bitcointalk, which provide a legitimate and regulated environment for cryptocurrency discussions, is recommended to reach a wider and more relevant audience while maintaining a positive brand image.

I do not think that you will find ways to promote the dark web here in the forum. Here campaigns are promoted on the surface internet and you will not find campaigns promoted on the dark web. The reason is that the forum does not want to get into legal problems with the government because the government believes that most of the services on the dark web are illegal.

For mixers most of them have strong signature campaigns here on the forum with great success, however most mixers have a dark web address in addition to the normal web address so you can combine the two types of promotion.

The forum bitcointalk is an entire different platforms from the dark web you're referring to, if you're interested in making an advertisement here on the forum, there's no much demands on that than to finds time to create your offers on service discussion board, if you want to make use of dark web, you will need stuffs like Tor browser while the bitcointalk community does not make use of such requirements before you can join or make an advert.

I don't know anything about advertisement on the dark web (and AFAIK Bitcointalk doesn't have onion address), but in this forum it's pretty straight forward I think.

Last but not least, since you are posting with Newbie account, and your question in this post seems like all over the place, I advice to move/post this question in the Beginners and Help section

@OP to give you an idea on how effective advertising through the forum with campaigns is that the effect might only be visible to your company if you'll run in the long term. Such campaigns that do stay for a couple of weeks or months won't get the best results.

We are also interested in why Bitcoin mixers are advertised here and not on the dark web.
Most people there are already aware of how to keep their privacy thus, you may unlikely see advertisements there from a mixer. And mixer companies are likely aware of that so, the target market could be those that are still unaware of its existence and the brand that they endorse. My opinion could also be wrong about that.

You should not think that the dark web (also known as onionsites) is only for illegal stuff like drugs and money laundering (and murder-for-hire), but it is also a realm for privacy activism. After all the Tor project, which powers the whole dark web, is ran by good guys.

Bitcointalk doesn't have an onionsite, though it should (I've been asking for this for months).

You can ask campaign managers about the revenue from advertising in the forum, and you can get some statistics here ----> https://bitcointalk.org/adrotate.php?adstats

I don't think these stats are relevant anymore ever since theymos pulled all the banner advertising from the platform.

Bitcointalk shouldn't be compare to dark wen in anyways. Whatever activities that happens here is legitimate. Although gambling can be prohibited by some countries but it is general not an illegal business.
Bitcoin does not sell or promote;
1. Drugs
2. Fire arms
3. Human parts
And other such things that could be seen on dark Web.

Why mixers don't go to dark web is why gambling is also not in the dark web. Don't plan to advertise in darkweb unless you want to launch an exchange for dirty deals.

I'll add to the already logical deductions made by Lucius and LTU_btc to: why are mixers advertised here and not on the dark web?

Mixers are a legitimate tool for privacy, so a mixers make a business out of selling privacy. Any marketing agency will tell you: sell to your audience.

Who's the audience for a mixer? Bitcoin users (not Ethereum, not USDT, etc.).

Bitcointalk is the most-viewed forum and first stop for anyone seriously considering using Bitcoin or looking for Bitcoin solutions. You get the most eyes from Bitcoin users here. Also, that means reaching out to a general audience of Bitcoin users who don't already use privacy solutions. This means regular Bitcoiners, not chiefly dark web users, who, presumably, if they're already on the dark web, already know about mixers or are using "privacy coins" that suit their purposes more.

If you're doing legitimate business, I have no idea why you would be interested to advertise on dark web. Especially if your exchange is under regulations, with things like KYC. Then there is no your potential users on dark web. And in general, you will get much less visibility on dark web simply because not that many people are using it. And usually most of them are looking for different things.
About advertising here, some good things were said, I won't repeat. But if you want to get some results, you need quite significant budget, especially if you want that quality posters would advertise your service. And you won't achieve much if your campaign will run just for few weeks.

In general, we would like to know the methods of dark web promotion, and for a better understanding, we would like to know the differences between dark web and bitcointalk promotion (or how these marketing methods can be combined). We are also interested in why Bitcoin mixers are advertised here and not on the dark web.

The dark web is the hidden collective of internet sites only accessible by a specialized web browser. It is used for keeping internet activity anonymous and private, which can be helpful in both legal and illegal applications.

For simple understand  I checked and saw the clear difference, of course if you don't want a shady promotion then bitcointalk is most open for everyone to view your promotions and clicking the links on the signature to get directly to your business site but dark web limits people that will have access to your business using specialized browsers or VPN to navigate through. So a clear mind and legal promotion would use bitcointalk.

For me, it's pretty simple, because if you have a legitimate business, why would you advertise it on the dark web where at least 90% of potential users wouldn't see it? It is therefore logical to advertise where your advertisement will have the highest visibility, and this forum is a good place to start such a campaign.

However, it should be emphasized that it is not only the product/service that is important, but also the approach to advertising in the sense that 5 people in the signature campaign that will last 2 or 3 weeks will not very likely make great results.

Quality participants, competitive pay rates and campaign longevity are, in my opinion, the only possible path to success.

Maybe it will require a completely different marketing algorithm than you'll ever know, the dark web is however a place of privacy and is known to be less trusted. I've explored the place once or twice (that I can remember), but I don't think any user crowd like the surface web's version of social media is worthy of target marketing.

Hello.

We have a bit of a look at the strategy for promoting our exchange here on the forum, but we are also looking at all possible options. In general, we would like to know the methods of dark web promotion, and for a better understanding, we would like to know the differences between dark web and bitcointalk promotion (or how these marketing methods can be combined). I'll be back here in a few days and for the most detailed answer I'll send $30 in bitcoin. Thank you for your attention.

Before thinking about promotion you should make the things sorted out in that exchange first because I saw one of your other thread has issues related to receiving funds from an user and as the one who controls the private keys no idea of what you have to do to get the funds back.

And also I can't relate why you are comparing bitcointalk and dark web about promotions, do you think bitcointalk is related to dark web or what?

The known effective method of promoting a service on bitcointalk 8s through signature campaign for that you need enough funds to hire participants and manager.

Unless a company used a tracker in the sig links and shared that info with whomever was running the campaign, the manager likely has no stats to share.
Even that doesn't give the true exposure a project gets from the signature campaign because the clicks aren't the actual output/exposure but sadly team wants miracle overnight, clicks, and sign up through the tracking link. Most of the projects even don't care about the exposure they get if the clicks on the sig link aren't good. They don't consider the brand image they are creating, they don't consider why people would click in the sig link when they can reach by writing the url lol.

We have a chipmixer campaign that has been going on here for several years and paid a lot but in return got a huge number of users, and almost most of the successful blenders had a promotional campaign in the forum.

Advertising here is not limited to the number of clicks, but to the trust that you gain almost whirlwind.money did not advertise in a place other than the forum, however, they have a good growth in the number of users.
Those ad stats are from when the forum was auctioning ad spots, not from campaigns campaign managers ran. Unless a company used a tracker in the sig links and shared that info with whomever was running the campaign, the manager likely has no stats to share.

Chipmixer is also closed in case you missed that.

@OP, no matter where you decide to advertise, if the product is shit you will get no interest. If the project is good, you'll start seeing slow growth. I would advise you to advertise in as many places as your budget can afford and not to expect miracles in a week.

Do people even promote on the dark web? I'm pretty sure a lot of usage is there, but not necessarily promotion. Most promotions are done in the surface web — obviously because a huge majority of users use the surface web.

As for which you should promote to — why not both?

How did you know this? Is this an assumption or have you interviewed some mixers here? I think the best place to ask this question would be their ANN thread. Most mixers are quite active and respond in a timely manner whenever there is a question about their service.

Most of them are using the signature campaign to promote their services, sometimes review campaigns or some avatar/design contest. I think a review campaign and signature campaign might suit your purpose. Social media promotion is not really worth the time from the participant's perspective which is why you'll likely attract spammers if you do it.

Because it's easier for new user to discover your exchange via Bitcointalk rather than dark web. It's mostly advanced users who will find your tor version of the exchange minus having to go thought the clearnet first

Search engines like Google, DuckDuckGo and Bing might also help display search results to newbies if your website is advertised on bitcointalk rather than on the dark web. They won't show anything from the dark web

I don't know how or why it occurred to you to promote your platform in the dark web. I don't know how to advertise on the dark web, but I'm sure the forum is much better.
I visited your site during my experience to do a paid review at your request a few days ago, and did not notice that it had anything suspicious, and I imagined that it is able to provide high quality services and also obtain licenses from any legislative system. I don't think darkweb is your best choice since the traffic on the forum is much better and the results will definitely be better.

I invite you to connect with Campaigns manager Royse777 and I am sure that he will help you promote your platform and support it with many creative ideas.

Good Luck

I don't know whether Bitcoin Mixers are promoted in the dark web or not and it's because I have no idea how dark web marketing even works lol.
Let me explain to you why people choose Bitcointalk as a target market for promoting mixers. First things first, Bitcointalk is the most active forum for discussion on cryptocurrency. Most (almost all) of the people here are directly involved with Bitcoin. Don't you think it's the greatest place to promote Bitcoin mixers? The forum has a lot of active members. It's easy to understand why mixers want to promote their service here. Besides, this forum is the perfect place for building up a reputation and communicating with your customers.

If you are planning to promote your exchange here, get a campaign manager to ensure the best output from the campaign. Feel free to reach out to me as I have managed a few marketing campaigns here, maybe I can assist you in fulfilling your goals here.

Don't compare the forum and the dark web because you can only access the dark web through the Tor browser while this forum can access in any browser another thing is if you are going to promote your exchange on the dark web it is not the same as this forum that can be index to any SERP(like Bing and Google) meaning only a few people can find your business because only limited people can access your exchange.

What's your purpose why did you like to promote the exchange on the dark web? Is it illegal?
The only reason that I think why you want to promote it on the dark web is because you don't want to involve in government policies.

Bitcointalk is in clear web and for dark web you need an onion version. But I don't think that's what you are looking for here.

Your one is an exchange, as far as I saw from the years of being in bitcointalk almost all cryptocurrency projects have a community in bitcointalk. Exchanges, gambling sites, mixers, even e-commerce sites advertised their project on this forum. Most of them are successful. Obviously, you do not have much understanding of so many things of the forum. Contact with an experienced campaign manager and seek their guidance.
