By the way, on the other hand ninjastic.space and loyce.club also didn't record this guy's post properly (current post#21).
That's not a bug, it means the post was edited within 10 minutes.

~

I've read it and noticed your post is visible. So this problem will prone to occur in the top post on every new page.
By the way, on the other hand ninjastic.space and loyce.club also didn't record this guy's post properly (current post#21). My post is still recorded there.

It looks like your "proof of authentication" post is currently post #1929, which is on page 97 of the bounty thread.

Post 1918 of a thread will be on page 96. There are 20 posts per page.

I think it's similar to this? It happened 2 years ago to me LOL.

What about the lost post? When I checked my post (the post before this one), I thought the op case had happened to me too. I can still see it (even in logout mode) in my post history, but it doesn't exist in the thread itself and there is no notice that my post was deleted. Bug?
Just click [All]. Somehow your post will appear as #21, though #21 in the single page mode is not your post.

This is "normal" when posts get deleted and the page numbering still needs a recount. However, what's not normal is that I've seen a few topics in Meta about this just recently. I guess it's caused by the recent spam run with thousands of posts being deleted per month.

All we can do is report as many of them as possible. Every post that doesn't get deleted is profit for the scammer.

Does it work for you?!
I tried and yes it brings me to the wrong page. I tried to click some recent posts on that thread and it works. Just the posts on that page with the post of op have something wrong. I guess there's something to fix there or just cache error just what mentioned above.

The fault is not from the user but most probably a cache error. When posts are deleted the forum system needs to recount and correct reply arrangements on the thread, this may take a while especially in mega threads but would eventually be fixed and during this period replies would likely be misplaced.

So chances are you just copied the wrong link with msgID

There was a thread on this recently, and the user testified that it was fixed after a while, so OP just needs to wait a bit;
I see. Anyway, it's fixed now. Just took a little bit of time.

Actually if you copy yourself the link and then try to go there it doesn't work (sends you to wrong place).
I also thought at first that OP is mistaken, but also for me the link, even if I copy it myself, doesn't get me to the post.

It's not a bug, so there's nothing to solve there.

It's normal that a post before yours can be deleted and your post will be moved from page 9 to 8 or so. And a post with msgID didn't change even the posts before yours got deleted.

So chances are you just copied the wrong link with msgID (msg55797508#msg55797508) if that's your main issue.

[Edit] Okay, seems clicking the post with msgID won't bring you to the exact page.

This "Proof of authentication" is not a forum related thing. Is something certain bounty manager ask. So there's no such thing as "Proof of authentication bug".
Now, this is a discussion forum and posts in a forum can get deleted. Probably this has happened in your case too. Some deleted posts shifted yours to another page.
So this is not a forum bug either.

Edit: the actual possible forum bug is that the link to your actual post doesn't go to your actual post.
So the actual bug is:
"If posts get deleted hence shifting my post to another page in a long topic, the direct link doesn't get me to my post."

Okay you’re right. Because if this “bug” still can’t be resolved, of course there’s a good chance that the bounty manager would reject my entry because of it (but I may get a chance if they allow at least a week or a few days for us to submit complaints). It’s just that I don’t wanna “double post” or having a “duplicate proof of authentication” entry that’s all.

Has anyone experienced this before?

My original proof of authentication link was suppose to be this: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/--5288737

However, I just realized that it moved to a previous page: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5288737.1900

My number is 1918 on this page. But when I click that, it redirects me to Page 97 where my post wasn’t there.

Is there any way that we could solve this proof of authentication “bug”? Please advice. Thanks!
