This is a good idea, I have seen a similar suggestion sometime ago. It's a good tool when you are quoted and you have nothing to reply again, but you want to show the person you have seen his message to you. So, just a thanks button, to show some respect and attention back. Or of course, when you like someone's post.
Man,why would you want to do that to the strangers ? lol You sound like a real attention seeker.

Really that you are asking me why should I have some consideration for those who spend sometime reading my posts and performing a reply over it?
It's just intuitive for me...

I just don't think when a post receives a "thanks" it must become highlighted or something like this. The "thanks" feature shouldn't affect this way. That was one of the reasons why many people didn't like the idea before...
According to forum rules, posts like 'Thanks' are spam.So on stackoverflow. Moreover, you can simply thank all the posters in one post instead of making a new post for each of them.

I'm not saying about thanks for help that I received from someone or for a doubt answered.

If there is really a new forum concept being developed, would be nice to have it added there.

You would have to wait a year,or two or forever.

Ok.

Thanks for the replies. I didn’t know there was a new forum going on, I will have a look at the section.

As for moving the post, I’ll leave that option to moderators.

I don’t know why some of you are so against the option as I use it in other forums, it has nothing to do with spam and it is quite useful.

Moreover, my understanding is that the trust button has more to do with lending money rather than with quality posting.

Its been a long time that there are other people to are requesting to add thanks button but until they are still not adding it and stay as normal as before.. the really important here in forum is the security of every account and there is trust button where you can know if the members is trustable or not  and we can say thanks for someone who help or reply to our thread so thanks button is not really needed.

I’ve realized that this forum doesn’t have a “thanks” button unlike other forums.

I think it would be a good measure to put it because it would be a good way to measure good-quality replies and also because you could thank someone for their answer or comment without having to write a proper reply.

I don’t think it will be something difficult to implement. I hope managers take this into consideration.

Basically,it's pointless to come up with any recommendations with respect to the current forum unless it's a server-side/security issue.I'd ask you to open a thread in the New Forum's thread but I have no clue if that forum is ever coming to life and your suggestion will actually matter.
It isn't difficult to implement but not feasible as it is not a necessary functional component.
