ME too like the square design. Bits symbol will get more recognition when btc price hit around $10000 range.

Funny ...so who is gonna use bits ?

Everyone. Who's going to use a bitcoin when the average is half a bitcoin per person and it's worth $10g?

I love the square idea! It's awesome!!!!

Excellent graphic work!

I don't see square coins being a problem with vending machines. Besides, vending machines would never accept physical "bit" coins, (hard to say that as opposed to bitcoins!) because how is a machine to know if the hologram has been removed from the coin and it is valueless? Vending machines would be wired to accept bit payments over a screen, maybe with a QR reader.

Bits really need to be pushed. It's genius. And the name is perfect, Bits of a Bitcoin is a great concept and easy to understand.

I quite like the style of making bitcoin look like part of the periodic table for some reason

The square always seems to make me think it's an element...

I like the design though. Looks quite nice, and it makes me also think about how they're parts of "blocks", in which a "block" can be a square shape.

100 satoshis -> ISO code
I like what Dennis has done here, some smart thinking and design.

Sounds interesting for a variety of reasons, but how this will "square' with the current meaning of bits, which is a multiple of bit=basic unit of information.
there are endless possibilities of getting confused.
"A hard drive holding 2Tbits will cost you half a billion bits"
"Heat"-cool movie from the 90ies with Al Pacino, De Niro and Val Kimer. Much action.
"The Heat"-stupid comedy from 2013 about female police officers.

Bits are already taken.

That symbol and graphics really look very great.

Agreed! This is really nice artwork.

But the letter ƀ just isn't what I'm used to from my science fiction books. Sad
The futuristic currency that will be used in the whole universe, that's always written as Ƶ, not ƀ.

Thanks!
I'm sorry about the science fiction books!  Grin

We should use Ƶ as the symbol for 100 satoshis, i.e.:

1 BTC = 1 000 000 Ƶ
1 Ƶ = 0.000 001 BTC

That would look even better!

I think circle is better.  This is a far fetched idea, but if somehow bits did become physical coins that could be spent, it would be much better to have them round to be compatible with vending machines etc.

Did we just solve the age long problem of squaring the circle?
