The only con I can find in gambling is not due to gambling itself but rather to some individuals that get addicted and are not fully in control of what they do or that extend their play beyond what they can really afford to loose and beyond the point in which the fun stops. Other than that, it just fun and excitement and you can even enjoy it with friends or make "a match more interesting" as they say. So nothing wrong with gambling at all, just with people.

That's right, because in gambling everyone is aware of that. But the question is why if you already know the level of defeat is greater than the victory achieved? as gamblers we are more aware of it for alternative entertainment and not following ambition to win. Despite all that, we will still find it difficult to control the condition that most of us want to be ambitious to win and don't care about the value of the relationship in it.

I believe that gambling pros and cons depend upon the outcome of the games which you play. If you are winning most of the gambling games and earning a lot of money, you will find that gambling is a most profitable thing in the world. Otherwise, if you are on the losing side, you will find gambling the first thing in your life.
So basically, luck determines whether gambling is profitable for us or not.

There's a lot of advantages and disadvantages gambling has to offer. This has been talked to several times already here in the forum. It just depends on how a person will permit gambling to influence his life in either a negative or positive manner. Gambling can be a source of income and entertainment for most people. For some people, this is their one way to generate income and is a way for them to bring food to their table. This also serves as entertainment and ease of boredom especially to those people who don't have other outlets to release stress and to have fun. Gambling brings enormous joy to those who are very much used to it. This could also bring job opportunities in a certain place which could result in boosting the tourist rate and eventually the employment rate. Later on, the boosting of the employment rate could then proceed to boost tax revenue by the state because there are more establishments now that are obliged to pay taxes back to the government. This could cause a positive effect on the economy of a country may it be only a little.

However, gambling has its repercussions as well in which could totally negate the good things out offers which is addiction. I think this disadvantage of gambling is one of the major reasons why some countries are still holding back from letting gambling be legal in their area because the citizens' welfare is at risk in this kind of scenario. If the government won't really organize and plan ahead, this could be big trouble. Hence, maybe some just don't have the energy to talk about it yet and give it a chance in their place.

One of the pros of gambling for me is the temporary rush of dopamine one feels when he or she allows himself or herself to engage in the activity as a way to escape the harsh realities of one's life's problem. That brief optimistic feeling that you are going to win just before you lose. The cons, when you on tilt, you either end up in debt, lose your girl/ wife/ family and end up suicidal.

Money is the first thing for those who really inside these activities,

entertainment is just part of it but most of them are aiming to earn a decent amount of money.

Most of the people who keep playing either get into addiction or turned into a pro gambler. The chance is slim though for someone

to be pro gambler as emotion always plays the big role. If you can't control addiction will bring you down, but if you know how to manage

Cons is that it can bring depression when money has been lost. Another is addiction which can be time consuming and resulting to sleepless night. It can affect health if someone is gambling too much.

But as for me, I just like to be among my friends during the weekend to discuss on the football matches and the ones to bet, it brings pleasure. So the real reason is that money can attract people to do many things, including spending more money to get money in gambling.

If I were to judge gambling based on what OP has mentioned, I would right away conclude that gambling is bad. Despite its pros and cons, if people are losing their life savings because of it, it must be bad. It would definitely outweigh the fact that others are making money out of it. I’d rather not have gambling and people making money, if the other side of it are people losing life savings which would mean everything to their families.

I am a gambler myself and enjoy it a lot, but if I were to choose whether there is gambling or not, black and white, I’d rather not have it. I have seen how it makes people smile and laugh and have fun but I have also seen how it could make some people crazy and destroy families.

That's why either side is possible, managing our bankroll is important which comes from experience but until that someone has to keep the money alive or else they will go bankrupt. In my opinion the main pro is that gambling industry is big and wealthy, creating jobs opportunities for many people where it is well established, being it land based or just virtual model like the casinos we have being promoted on this forum. Many people here have an income through signature campaigns thanks to the gambling industry, so they can feed their families, make their investments and thrive their financial life, while others have a gambling income promoting casinos at youtube or at their own reviews' websites, earning from general ads or directly from the casinos they promote. Moreover, there are those who work for the gambling platforms on the management, support, marketing or technical sectors to keep the sites working clean and competitive among their competitors.

But keep in mind it always depend on you if gambling is going to have a positive or negative effect on your life.

You can make money and you can lose your money that is the both sides of gambling, there are other issues we can name but money is the main factor when it comes to gambling because there are lot other entertainment sectors are there but nothing isn't addictive as gambling.

One of the main upsides of gambling is the entertainment it brings as people get hooked by the feeling you'd get from winning and the uncertainty it brings, no matter how the odds are usually stacked against the gamblers there are still a lot of people that still go and spend money.

Making money in gambling is possible but this kind of job is not for everyone as only a few are chosen to possess the skills to be successful. The only thing that I could see is that gambling will please someone who has been tired/bored from their job. There's so much a lot of things needed for you to have that description of being successful there. It takes a lot of courage for one to be called successful in gambling and the reality is that, not that many sees that success.

Gambling depends on completely on luck. If you are doing business with risk, the outcome will depend totally on how you to the business. You have control over the risk. But in gambling you don't. The cons of gambling is way more than that of pros.

I'd say that there is a certain type of gambling that can be very beneficial to a small set of people. While thinking about the pros of gambling, I also ended up with this result, it looks like gambling has more negative impact since your profit will always depend on luck and of course, you can’t be so lucky every time you gamble. Pro in gambling in my opinion is a game of Chance and for fun or hockey betting, and winning is luck and I play it when I have free time when I feel tired from work.

I do think everyone knows the major pros and cons of gambling. The worst being the addiction, which is to be taken utmost care for at the end of the day people gamble, during the pandemic, during the economic instability the numbers have risen above the normal ones, there are countries who were against gambling, they are the one's making it legal now to earn more taxes. See the thing is, this is the time when people are not financially stable and this is also the time that they are gambling the most. I do think we have to realize that Gambling sometimes is an escape, people wish they would win lotteries and live their life happily. But that doesn't happen and they end up loosing a lot over time. It's a sport, meant to entertain you, should be left at that.

If you want to make money out of gambling then you are already putting yourself at a disadvantage because it's rare to really make money from gambling, you will end up miserable with everything gone because the house edge always wins, you don't need to experiment or try to prove it, but if you want to be entertained and only spend allocated funds that you can afford to lose, you are safe and you can enjoy the game more and if you are lucky you can bring home a good winning.  

Well to make it short, the biggest pro is definitely that, if you are lucky, then you can make money with, depending on how lucky you are or how much you are willing to bet you can even win life changing amounts of money and that is probably the reason why a lot of people are attracted to gambling or to sports betting. As the first sentence already implies, you can also be unlucky and lose your money. That means it is up to you how much risk you are willing to take. Going all in and risk it all for a life changing win but risking it also that you lose your life savings, or just play with small amounts here and there and if you lose it doesn't really matter. The only pros from gambling that person can get is to test (or improve in some way) his math skills, train memory or logic. This wont turn you from basic math skills to being scientist, because there are only 52 card in blackjack and poker deck. But you will start calculating to 21 very quickly   But if we put stress, becoming nervous, addicted on the scale as cons, then gambling is not the best way to train math, memory logic thinking.

In some way, gambling helps to socialize. As all the players behind the table are like your friends, with who you play against a casino. But the price of this socialization is really high.

If you take it as an entertainment, then have some advantages. But if you take it as a earning source then lots of disadvantages you have to face. Patience is the key to success in gambling. I will start with a lot of cons if you don't manage to control yourself or lose control of yourself.You risk addiction,can't think clearly and all you think is gambling,if you get these symptoms it means you are ill and need a really quick treatment in order to be healthy again.

You have listed some of the pros and cons in gambling already as losses and profit are part of it. What is more is that both the negative and positive both have effect on the player. If the gambler is consistently losing and his life savings is gone, it can lead him or her into depression and depression can lead into other forms of habit that will further worsen the already bad situation, excessive taking of alcohol can be developed , smoking hard drugs also and other illicit dealings of frustrated personality. Also with profiting in gambling, the joy of additional money depending on how much is involved could lead you on euphoria of uncontrollable action that may cause accident especially if you are driving. It is better to do things in moderation.

Aren't it was always cons outweighs the pros? Well, that's how I put it, most of the time even if we say we are just into it for the leisure we can't deny the fact that we sometimes get hooked on it. The most prone cons are you gonna bury yourself with loans and you don't find any way to pay it back just because you lose it all in playing overnight or a week. Gambling is not pure evil but it has more cons than pros. you need to be careful and have complete control of your emotions when you lose your money in a single play. because when you start to spend the money that should not be used for gambling, that's the start of the problem and only a few can stop themselves when something like that will happened.

I agree with you that most of the regular gamblers are probably near the breakeven point. They didn't win much and they didn't lose much either. Many casino games are close to a 50% win chance. There will be swings in between but on average most gamblers will be in the center of the distribution. As for the tails, the number of people who got rich through gambling or lost it all is small. That's why I wouldn't count becoming rich as a big pros argument for gambling. For me the pros are having an opportunity to play games in the evening now from home. I am not so much into shooters or other traditional games anymore. Gambling provides a nice alternative.

i have some friends that turns addicted and now their lives changes and turns from soft Bed to Flooring .

I think everyone already knows the pros and cons of gambling isn't? even teenagers also know that. Especially if they live in country where gambling is illegal or taboo, they will got teached by his parents or his teacher. If someone worried about the cons of gambling, just stay away and never try even using demo account. Gambling will more likely to cons than pros and the most outlined effect from gambling is being an addicted and ruin people life so that's why gambling will always be consider as bad behaviour but i will see it from my personal view that gambling fun as long as i can enjoy every games i played and while gambling i won't think about other people's opinions because there always be cons from it

While we are on a losing streak the adrenaline will combine with the frustration and being consistent in that way will make us addicted to it. But I am talking about the adrenaline while losing or spinning, the matter of seconds will keep us on the edge of seat which I lose especially.

agreed and the main thing for me? that is the adrenaline rush in which make me enjoy my gambling experience specially when I am winning constantly

Pros: Playing gambling -> get many rewards from winning and others -> having much money -> being richer-> having a good life and economy financial (of course with some T&C)
Cons: Playing gambling -> Being addicted -> bad in gambling -> always losing in gambling -> losing much more money -> being poor -> crimes -> getting money to  play gambling again -> lost again (the cycle is continuing)

Well, I believe the cons of gambling are very clearly outlined and quite universal for everyone. You lose your money, your house, your car, your families respect, your own dignity and so on... The pros? Well the pros are that it is fun if you can control yourself (which is harder than you believe). But other than fun, I would not think there are any other pros. The tiny chance of making big bucks is not a pro in my book.

If you dont have that good control towards gambling activity and spending then you would

With that experience of yours, we can say that it's one of the pros of gambling upon experiencing a shortfall from it. You become more responsible and you're taking care more of yourself and money when you've lost a lot from it. But, on the other side, there are more people that can't stand after losing a lot of money because they don't know what to do and where to start again. It's normal for us to spend on things especially the things that we like but for the second time around, it had taught us to become more responsible.

most disadvantages in gambling are rooted from excessive playing or addiction of the gambler. but if you are just a regular gambler who is using extra funds to gamble, you can definitely experience the pros - like enjoyment or fun, social connection and of course, earning extra money without expecting it.

At one point in my life, I lost a large sum of money several times. It has taught me to manage my own money responsibly.

I'm not sure that's exactly what you mean, but in my opinion, the biggest risk and cons of gambling is addiction and its consequences.

It's a joke I guess. I don't think many people posting here play gambling in reality. But to answer your question I would quote an advantage : gambling helps you to understand what chances/risks and probabilities represent in real life and it helps you to evaluate them in a more accurate way.

I don’t see a lot of benefits of gambling. For me, it’s only entertainment when you have nothing to do at all. I was quite active in gambling in the recent lockdown while these days, I barely play any games; only a few sportsbet.
On the other hand, cons; you are wasting your time which you could use properly to do something productive, you would not lose money & less stress.

Everyone here plays gambling. Some win a lot of money, others lose their life saving and most of us are in no profit no loss situation. We win some and lose some and keep on enjoying the game.
