I have participated in Facebook live demo of proxy card looks promising. I thought how it different from tenxpay and Monaco then demo clarified my doubts . It's not converting cryptocurrency to fiat on the air and sending to merchant. It's good project hope ICO will also success .Atleast this guys having prototype is ready before going for funding.
Yes having a working prototype is necessary because it tells about their ability to execute the project and also gives confidence to investors.

Hey guys,

Proxy card is a plug and play solution for Ethereum transactions.
It's an NFC based card, which uses NFC technology to authorize the transaction.

So, how it works-

They have developed an app through which you can send, receive Ethereum and can also pay at partnered online, offline shops, merchants.
After filling the details of the transaction in the app just tap the card on your NFC enabled smartphone and voila your payment is done.
They have enabled 2fa(2-factor authentication) so that only you can access the account in case card gets lost or stolen.

According to me the pros and cons I feel about this card is as follow-

pros-

1.Those who are not much versed with cryptocurrency will feel home as they can use this card as debit, credit card which they are already familiar with, so instead of using private key, mnemonic.keystore file, trezor, we get a conventional simple method to access the wallet and make payments
2. Can be used for payments with partnered vendors so no need to convert the crypto to fiat(saves conversion charges if any)
3. Better security as your key is encrypted in card and all the communication is encrypted
4. Comes with backup card in case primary card gets lost or stolen

Cons-

1.A person having already 3-4 credit, debit cards have to keep up with yet another card
2.NFC is must on your phone

If you like this project and want to support and invest, you can participate in the ICO, which is scheduled to begin by 1 October.

I think this project will take one step closer to make Ethereum mainstream.

All the best to Proxy team.

Let me know what you think of this project, if you find any similar projects share that too.
