Bitcoin FTW!
If you run two power supplies combined powering one 741, they're probably not going to be near the peak of their efficiency curve. One advantage of server PSUs for mining is that not only are they usually platinum and at least gold rated to begin with, but the higher power units also provide you the best efficiency. By not maxing out the PSU and keeping it below ~80% or wherever the peak of the efficiency curve is you get optimal power consumption from the PSU as well.

Are there advantages to using ATX PSUs? Sure, but IMO it's better to just use plain ol' server PSUs.

I've had my Avalon 741's running off EVGA 1300W Gold PSUs for about 5 months 24x7.  I also have Antminer's using Bitmain PSUs but that's mainly because they need so many PCIe connectors.  I run the Bitmain PSUs off 220V circuits where I can and otherwise I use them on 115V circuits. The 741's only require 6 connections which the EVGA 1300 can provide.  If you only have 115V power outlets than the EVGA is a good choice in my opinion (plus it only takes a few days to order one online).

ATX power supplies are not meant so supply their max power 24/7/365. Go with a server psu wat was built to do just that.

Do not waste your money on PC power supplies. Get a solid server PSU with the correct voltage and wattage and save yourself a ton of money. Check out parallelminer.com for several good options.

Hello folks,
I know that usual way is Sorcerer or simmilar "factory look" PSU, however I would like to try for one miner also computer PSU/s.

What do you think, what is better?

1x EVGA 1300W - gold 90% - 290 EUR
2x EVGA 650W - gold 90% - 200 EUR (100EUR per 1 PSU)
2x EVGA 700W - bronze 85% - 140 EUR (70EUR per 1 PSU)
2x EVGA 750W - bronze 85% - 170 EUR (85EUR per 1 PSU)

Is 5% of efficiency worth to buy EVGA 1300w ?

Thank you for your experiences and tips
