Cool, That makes more sense, Effectively the SATA 12v is split between 3 pin outs, And a SATA to Molex converter just combines the 3 back into one, Continuing the same supply without degradation?

You are right. As long as amps on the rail are within limits you are good. Go for high-end unit to be sure everything is adequate quality and materials. I prefer OCZ and Thermaltake but any high-end will do.

Hiya, As I am after a psu with lost of molex (https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/need-big-psu-posted-to-uk-out-of-time-222792)

It got me thinking about voltage on the SATA connectors, If a unit has 9 sata (3 lots of 3) can I use 9 adapters and power 9 Molex 12v devices and still be safe?

I can easly get a psu with 10x molex and 10x SATA but could this power 20 molex drives without burning the cable?

I'm guessing as long as the wattage is there and enough amps on a single rail all is good?

Am I right?
