Another scammer. I think a lot of these people are using throw away accounts that way even if the account goes negative after a claim, they’ve already got the money. Unfortunately for this guy PayPal was holding the funds for 21 days. He kept lying saying the cards were shipped trying to buy time cuz he thought the funds would release after 24 hours. Once he realized that wasn’t the case he ended up refunding without a word. Needless to say, I would stay away from anything this guy tried to sell.

I came to this thread specifically to wish you well, hoping that this transaction was going to go better than the last Scam accusation thread I began and you had to share your story in. It seems a lot of these scammers are pretty clueless as far as their schemes go. They don't think through hold times, reverse searching the pictures they've sent as "proof" or any sort of simple investigations and obstacles that will only make their attempt waste everyone's time. At least you're 2/2 on getting your money back from scammers after they've had it in their hands from what I can tell, that's pretty impressive in itself.

At this point, I'd probably lock the thread, or move it to reputation/scam accusations as that would be where this thread can develop further.  You didn't get your goods, you got your money back and they've proven to send you fake proofs. No more can be said about this in Computer Hardware.

I’m fine using escrow but I’m also fine using PayPal as long as you take the proper precautions.

Glad you got your money back but just ask a simple question, "do you accept escrow from one of the main peole here".  If they say no or dance around it....its a scam 99% of the time.

Wow! I have seen this image originally in a tutorial, they were setting up 7 GPUS for the 1st time. I think it was in ZEN community or something!

F&F makes no difference as far as your credit card company is concerned, it just removes paypal from the dispute process if something goes bad.  I missed where you said Goods/Services so easy enough for you to be protected.  You technically haven't been scammed "yet" since it appears it's going to be up to him whether he ships and gets his money later or has them refund you?   Your money isn't going anywhere in any case and it doesn't sound like he intentionally screwed you but he was just naïve on thinking paypal was going to release funds right away on a new account.  Hopefully it works out for both of you.

I would never send someone money via f&f, that’s just asking to get ripped off. When your account isn’t verified and you try to do larger transactions, PayPal tends to lock down until you get more history behind you. Once I receive the cards I also have the option to hit confirm receipt in the payment and it will release his funds sooner.

Good.  Yeah if it was a lot of money he's going to have a long road ahead of him to probably get it released.  He would have had a better chance had you sent it normal and not F&F because he could have provided tracking information and when you received it, you could have marked it received and it would have released automatically.

I'm curious to see how this goes.  I've made one paypal transaction on this site without any issues.

It got held because he has an unverified account. I always setup my PayPal transactions to be as safe as possible. As long as you do it right it continues to be one of the safer ways to do business. I will keep this thread updated as things play out.

Please say you used a credit card to fund it?

I read his locked thread and he eludes to something about the money being held?

Just making a post for public visibility. Purchased 7 gtx 1070’s Zotac amp gpu’s. His sale thread is locked so I wanted to make a post in case anything ends up being a scam. Paid via PayPal G&S.

I hope it works out. You should never do anything outside of escrow in here. Too risky. Best of luck.
