I didnt expect any pump today and felt bitcoin is already price-in, i also felt traders will be watching than selling and more activities for miners, it was a very busy day for miners who want to take their share from the last period of 12.5 bitcoin from each block. I dont think bitcoin halving has ever caused this pump, it caused more dump in short term before a gradually movement. Due to the global market condition I cant predict the movement of altcoins.

I'm sure traders will be looking at bitcoin price against what altcoins they are hodling or buying. I predict that this bitcoin halving will favour more of altcoin because unlike in last halving, the numbers of altcoins now have increased and some nice project are existing.
At the current price of Altcoin I am sure it will tempt whales to enter, because if they enter and the pump arrives they will get more Bitcoin, and if Bitcoin PUMP then they will get more money  Wink

There is no reason for bitcoin to go up or go down, right now it is doing super fine and that is enough. Why do you think that halving would make it go up or down? What has happened with the bitcoin? There is about 900 bitcoins mined per day right now, it used to be 1800 bitcoins per day. Which means there is 900 bitcoins mined per day, and that is about 8 million dollars per day, that is a lot of money for a day but it is not really life changing isn't it? The market wouldn't really feel it on day one.

However when you make it 100 days, that 8 million becomes 800 million dollars over time. When you make it 300 days that is 240 million dollars, as you can see we are not even a year right now, in a year we are talking about 3 billion dollars give or take. THAT  will make a change.

So guys, im not sure if today btc is going to pump, stable or dump
What do you guess and why?

I guess this halving gonna be diferent, cause lot of people is knowing about it has stabilised on near 9k usd,  and wall street whales speak about btc. So i can also see a 3billion mcap grow... ..guests? Open til 24:00

Halving effects can be seen either on earlier, actual or long term aspect and as you can see on this current situation the price do stabilizes or playing around 8-9k which does shows
or break out expectations of those people who do long for immediate halving effect expecting to break 5k digit barrier or hitting up all new highs without even thinking on how
the price behaves in last halvings. For future price, then we can say that we would surely go up but it would really be in a gradual phase which is somewhat preferable than
seeing huge pumps.

11k in 3 months, maybe.

It will not be a sudden pump but it will happen.
There are not much small buyers since we are still in lock down because of the corona virus.
Savings are also being used just to survive and to avoid having bad medical condition. Just to be safe.

Recovery will be after that when people go back to their jobs if there is still one.
So I am guessing that is the point we will see a lot of movement.

Who are these WS whales and where did you get the idea about $3 billion market cap grow? Maybe you think about $3 trillion? That may happen one day, but that much MC would mean a BTC price of approximately $150 000. I don’t mind it happening as soon as possible, but let’s be realistic, we’re still a long way from that.

It went down as low as $8500 but it seems it has recovered along $8700. Everybody is expecting a huge price increase, but I think post bitcoin halving is already price-in so it didn't went as high as 5 digits.

Not everyone expected the halving to magically launch the price into the new ATH instantly. But as with the last halving, there are a lot of those who don’t understand what halving is at all, and who have very successfully fallen into the bull trap and now wondering how it is possible that the price was almost $10 000 before halving and is now lower than that. Halving has the potential to affect the price in the long run, so we should wait at least 6+ months.

^ Probably there will be no changes in bitcoin's price in this halving but like the ordinary days, the price may go up or down in every single minute because this is a world of trading where everything is subject to changes. Speculations are always there for there is no assurance in this industry so we always expect or think of what will be the next after every minute of trading. Nevertheless, it may not have a big effect but being in a $9k price is not bad at all let's just hope that there will be mo huge dump after the halving like what happened the previous first and second halving.

The price of bitcoin usually pumped after halving so today it is either we can see the price of btc to be stable at $9k or it will go down. Well not sure about that but thats  what speculators were claiming though. As much as I wanted to speculate, too but this is my first time to see how btc's price will react to bitcoin halving. Others also say that few more months before we can finally feel the bull run.  But then if it will gonna hit $12k then maybe it is possible after halving.

Obviously, the attempt to reach five digits again failed, although bulls really push hard before the halving to at least reach that level, but it didn't happen, but it doesn't mean that we can't achieved it post halving, it's still doable, IMHO.

Nowhere Bitcoin is going to stabilized, maybe what you mean is that we might see it trading sideways for the time being until a new breakout occur. Until there are still FOMO just waiting in the side in the next couple of days post halving.

it remains nothing as if Halving is not happening ,so the answer is stable to dumping lol,but anyway this is too early to expect and maybe there are something that may happen sooner.

I early predicted a dump and still standby it just like most other community members assumed judging from their comments so far from other price speculation threads. Never thought the corrections will come few days prior to the halving, but like other I too assumed it'll come after the halving has ended successfully. The last correction has taken out some fudders so the market is unlikely to dump harder like I earlier expected but that doesn't mean it won't get some correction coming it way.

FOMO contributes majority to the previous upward thread of bitcoin and that means, when that dies off the corrections will follow and this might happen in couple of days from now or maybe the next minute (as the market always has a way of surprising us either with impressive price gain or decline).

So what happened after all the speculation, nothing much. I was expecting the price to go up for a while during the time of halving as there was interest from different sectors but the market went down a bit and nothing much happened and the price is still around $8700 even though it went down below $8400 for a brief moment. The growth is inevitable but it might take a bit longer than anticipated and it depends upon the economic situation globally.

So it's a new era now with this halving, at this point there is no break out, maybe we can climb to $9k-$10k, but I'm not seeing a massive price increase. It will take time again to see another bull run that we all have been waiting for. Yes, growth is inevitable, but I don't anticipated that at the end of the year we are in a new all-time-high.

The trend died out and the price didn't rise like what we hope to. Maybe the big traders can still really suppress the price even when the media keeps the trend worldwide. It may really dump hard after the halving and could take months before it could go up again. Last halving I believe took another year before it goes up.

I just think that the only ones who take some profit of 7.7-9k are ob good traders, and especialy whales, and y think whales they will kep the price this way expecting people to buy at 8.9 hoping moon and they will do it till halving goes out of mind.then they will become bears before they turn to bulls.

Tomorrow price spec; 7.7-9k

Yuup +10 xD can somebothy move the post where it belongs? XD dont want to putit in 2 places. ^
Not sure if Newbies are able to, but in the bottom-left corner of the thread you might see a "Move Topic" button. Grin

I personally believe it could be a little hype now that the halving is finally in, but I don't think it'll be a continuous ride. Will take months to rise to the post-halving level, if it even happens. For now, I'd either accumulate or hodl. Every time I sold turned into a regret Cheesy

As far as I see, the trend for now has been a positive one since halving took place. Hopefully it lasts long enough. Let's have some finally good news for 2020, right? Smiley

I see no much effect in this year's halving and it's because of this pandemic, maybe. Price went to over 9,100$ some hours ago and now it's at 8,500$. Next halving is in 1,367 days. I would love to see more people's reaction concerning this year's halving. If there's no pump, I don't think there will be much hype for the next one.

As I type this, there's 10 minutes left for the halving to commence. This halving is different from the past because there are the mainstream investors that became interested of it unlike before, they don't give much attention to it because that doesn't make sense to them.
Until, that they have noticed that it's a lucrative asset in this pandemic and that's why they are all tuning in. Will it pump or dump? expecting that it will dip after wards but be sure to long it because that's when the positive result will show.

First of all, this post belongs to Speculation: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=57.0

And i not agree with you, stabilized near to 9k? There is not a stable factor in bitcoin, It will always move, up or down but it will move. If you see the past mage bumps weren't right on the halving, so, if there will be one of those, I don't think it will happen today.
