I agree with what most of you guys have stated. I use gift.com and have no concerns of carded stuff showing up at my house. Purse seems risky to me - a few bucks is not worth having my door kicked in.

How much discount do you get on ebay vouchers at gyft? is it like 3% ?

Yes everything is 3% off when paying with Bitcoin. I am not worried about discounts as much as legitimacy.

Dam there goes my dropshipping business idea lol.  Still if you are getting 25% off waiting a little time isn't so bad.

anyone use purseio lately? feedback? i just ordered a game using it and got 30% off, not sure if its really going to come or not.

what im really afraid of is if someone uses a stolen credit card to buy it. i wouldnt want to deal with that headache. but it seems that purse upped their security measures to prevent this. hopefully my small $60 order goes thru.

Purse.io seems like a cool idea since most bitcoiners are in love with amazon. My point of view is this: I want cash or product in my hand or as close to it as possible when dealing with BTC.

What I mean is, I would much prefer to buy a Best Buy or Target gc from someone on here for a better discount, order something site to store, go pick up THEN release coins after I have my product in hand. It is faster, it is less risky and probably a better deal as well.

Sometimes you gotta get off of your ass and from behind your keyboard.

3% is basically the markup you pay for using a credit card. I know that I certainly would rather get to keep that 3% by using bitcoin then having my bank get that money, especially since a larger number of purchases will eventually add up.

Using a credit card adds a layer of protection. 1-4% is a very fair price for all that extra protection you receive.

In fact with so much credit card fraud I don't foresee this kind of protection to be offered for such an insignificant value for much longer.

I really do not see how anyone would be able to offer any larger of a discount in any significant amount of volume if the gift cards being offered are legit.
Usually the larger the volume the larger the discount.

But as far as I know that doesn't apply here. Gyft and purse are 2 completely different business models.

I like Gyft.
I find their support really awesome.
And if Purse are using stolen credit cards I don't want anything to do with it. That is someone's money that is stolen.

Any real evidence that purse is actually a fraudulent business?

Whenever Purse announced people ould buy your Bitcoins, red flags popped into my head.

Looks like more and more are facing this lesson through first-hand experience now.

I would suggest that you use gyft if you are wanting to buy things on amazon with your bitcoin, although you will receive a significantly smaller discount (3%), but will have much lower risks/issues
i also vouch for gyft, its extremely easy to buy giftcards there. and i think they have a sign up promo where you get $5 off your first gift card(worth 15+), but to use the promo you gotta use paypal.
3% cashback is pretty decent imo.

I don't vouch for gyft but I understand your point. You get what you pay for and peace of mind is expensive.

3% is not decent in my opinion. 3% or full price is the same thing. Unless it's a very expensive thing it's not worth it.

Pretty sure its 5% some days on promotion with gyft. But this is legit, and fully legal. If you where to buy an expensive item on amazon.com with this, lets say a macbook pro for 2000$, thats saving of 100$ which is pretty good because your not using stolen credit cards or anything.

I think that buying from purse is overall going to be a bad idea because of the high chances of someone using a stolen credit cards/gift card in order to pay for your items. I don't think whatever discount you actually end up getting is going to be worth the risk of having the police show up at your door questioning you about a purchase you made on purse.io

I am not intimately familiar with how purse works on the buy side, however I would presume that the orders getting cancelled is an indication that someone (or some people) were trying to use a stolen gift/credit card to fill your purchase. You were protected in these cases. I do think however that if you were to offer a lower discount that you would end up with fewer of these cancellations (do you really think there are *that* many people who are wanting to buy bitcoin at a 25% premium?).

It is probably not a good idea to release escrow prior to you receiving your items because the buyer could have potentially cancelled the order, and even if he didn't, he would have less of an incentive to work with Amazon to resolve any issues.

Ok, so I've been using Purse.io for the last two weeks. I've grown to dislike it.

1) first of all it takes FOREVER to get your item, as in something I ordered on the first day I used Purse, still has not arrived.

2) buyers can cancel on you. I've had one item in particular that has been "purchased" then "canceled" MULTIPLE times.

3) bad feedback abounds because obviously the purchaser wants their bitcoin, and when your item takes forever to arrive they blame YOU.

4) GIFT CARDS CAN NO LONGER BE PURCHASED. I ordered a gift card for GameStop, and went to GameStop to get a Shell card, and it worked like a charm to get 25% cheaper gas. However when I tried to do so a second time an Administrator cancelled my order because "Gift cards cannot be purchased".

5) One if the items I ordered never arrived. The buyer got all furious with me, that he claimed the item arrived and I'm telling him it is not physically here. I ended up releasing the bitcoins out of escrow to him in spite of not getting the item, and he still gave me bad feedback. I complained to Amazon and they are sending a second item to replace the one that never arrived. (This is a separate item from #1 on this list.)

6) You do not really get 25% off. You get 25% off if you order something cheap, and are lucky. But you select what percentage you want. Reason dictates that if the item is expensive, less people will be inclined to purchase it for you, so you need to make the discount less, and also time is a factor - if you want it soon, you will make a less discount. Also, several of the items I ordered with a larger discount were "cancelled" several days after they were "purchased"

Based on all the above, I'm pulling the bitcoin out of my Purse.io account and I won't be using them anymore.
