The most notable difference between Putin and Gaddafi is that the former leads a strong state, while the latter leads a state that is unable to protect itself due to his failed policies internally and externally.
This is a meaningless comparison, and I do not think that France will dare to confront Russia, even with the support of NATO. The Ukrainian example is proof of this.

OP, I see not for the first that you're posting complete nonsense in Politics board. What correlation you can draw between Putin and Ghadafi? Probably only relation is that both are dictators and their countries have a lot of natural resources. But rest, you can't compare what weight and influence in international politics they have/had, size of army or finally, one didn't had nuclear weapon behind himself, other one is head of biigest nuclear state in the world.

Invalid comparison expect the natural resources the ground situation in these two countries are very different and Putin is much smarter than Gaddafi and he knows how west has been using the dictators for their purpose and once they go against their interest they are eliminated through coup or by assassination. We have Saddam Hussein and Gaddafi are prime example of how west can use and throw the leaders but Putin is different and also Russia have nuclear arsenal hence west cant do much and can't even put pressure on Russia.
The similarities between Russia and Libia, is that they both have rich natural resources that is sought after in the world today and Ghadafi was anti American, same with Putin, other than this, as far as warfares goes, you can not compare Libia with Russia. The fact is clear, Russia, is not a walkover in terms of warfare, you cannot attack them and go to sleep, they have deadly weapons in their arsenal, like the nuclear weapon, so that's where the big difference between these two countries lies. I think that it's dialogue and reaching a compromise that can end the Russian, Ukraine war, not not planning to attack Russia, because the aftermath will be disastrous.
