We know how the Media can sometimes not be trusted and can come under heavy manipulation and influence people's opinions on specific matters, having this at the back of my mind, i can't help but wonder if there is a possibility that Putin has been painted as completely bad to the benefit of others who are in disagreement with him.

-Is Putin's issue with the west and Ukraine a personal issue or really a Matter of National interest?
-Do you think Putin's invasion was unprovoked?

(I want personal opinions and not media generated opinions)

its a human rights issue, zelinski/his regime violated human rights in ukraine was invaded to remove his corrupt regime.
the western elite thinks if its a jew and a democracy at the top it can't be wrong but they will wake up.

regards

No, Ukraine was invaded to annex Ukraine to Russia.

Putin outlined his plans in his papers.  He does not consider Ukraine as a separate country.

BTW, there were absolutely no human rights violations in Ukraine before Putin's army invaded it.

Is Putin's issue with the west and Ukraine a personal issue or really a Matter of National interest?

It is both for national and personal interest. National interest because Putin has always seen Ukraine as inseparable brother to Russia. The 2013  Euromaidan protests, which removed pro-Russian leader Viktor Yanukovych, changed everything. Putin is now jealous that it is loosing its relationship with Ukraine to the West. Ukraine joining NATO will endanger Russian security because of its strategic location. Russia is also loosing investment because the West is now Ukraine's major arms supplier.

It is personal because after the toppling of Viktor Yanukovych, Putin and his corrupt cronies are no longer making money from Ukraine.

Do you think Putin's invasion was unprovoked

Technically, this war is between Russia and NATO. Ukraine is just a scapegoat. I would say NATO provoked Russia. Unlike America that uses economic sanctions to punish stubborn North American nations, Russia lacks such economic powers, hence they are using what they have. Also, Ukraine and NATO crossed the red line when they refuse to guarantee Russia that like Ukraine will never be admitted to NATO. It is believed by Russia that U.S. Secretary of State James A. Baker promised former Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev that there would be no extension of NATO’s jurisdiction for forces of NATO one inch to the east.

Read his papers on the subject.

His issues are deeply personal. They are rooted in his personal insecurity.

Ukraine did not attack Russia.

Noone attacked Russia.

Russia invaded and is occupying parts of Ukraine and Georgia.
