Soooo....
Tested with 2 other phones. (Guy from the OnePlus forum had 2)
Wiped all 3.
Installed latest beta on all 3
Installed Mycelium on all 3
Worked on one of his, but not the other. Still does not work on mine.
Both of the 2 that did not work are from the original batch.
His 2nd one he got a few months later. So, it's probably a HW issue.
Going to follow up with OnePlus, since on the surface it looks like a HW revision issue, not a Mycelium issue.

Where did you download the firmware? Can you link me?

Hope you are flashing the stock rom not a modified rom. You can download the firmware directly from onePlus, here is the list of stock rom check it here http://downloads.oneplus.net/devices/oneplus-3t/

My guess, maybe your phone is infected with a monkey virus or other viruses like Ghostpush and the Sexy virus that even you do a hard reset or flash it to a new firmware your phone still infected...

You can try to use this tool https://www.4shared.com/rar/FKQZ9lUNce/All_ANDROID_Monkey_Virus_Remov.html

And hope it can delete viruses from your phone. If this tool not work, then you need a box like Chinese miracle or Volcano box to scan the whole system file of your phone and remove all viruses, but only technician have this kind of tool like me.

Anyway, you can try the tool above and the phone must be rooted first to get this tool works.
The link you have for the firmware was the one I used.
Since the older stock firmware works but the betas do not, I am guessing it's a OnePlus issue.
That and the ones that don't work are the the 1st shipped 3T units and the one that did was a later shipped one just point to that.

You could also create an issue on Mycelium's GitHub repo[1]. Maybe someone can help you there.

It's only you for now I guess.

Maybe it's a bug issue with your phone firmware since you tested the lower version better to stay with that version until they release a new firmware for your phone.

I am using mycelium for almost 2 years and never encounter any problem with scanning QR code or anything.

Do you have a backup of your coinomi wallet?

Try to hard reset your phone after you flash your phone into the latest firmware and install the coinomi and mycelium wallet and try again if the issue persists it is not a phone problem its a firmware bug.

How about the other firmware which is 5.0.2 just found from XDA-developers.
Check the source here https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3t/how-to/firmware-modem-collection-flashable-zips-t3565535
If the 5.0.2 didn't work better to stay at the 5.0 version just to keep your qr code scanner work.
I am 99% certain it's a firmware bug.
I think the problem is, and for it to happen to you 3 things have to be in place:
1) You own a OnePlus 3T
2) You use Mycelium wallet
3) You run the latest and greatest beta firmware as soon as OnePlus releases it.

I am guessing that it's a very small group of people.
However, I did think that it would be more then just me talking about it here.

Through the OnePlus forums I found someone close to where I work with a 3T, who is running the beta. He does not use bitcoin but did agree to let me install mycelium to check on his phone sometime next week. Just to eliminate some odd hardware issue on my phone.

I'll also check out the XDA firmware you posted.

And 3T OxygenOS Open beta 23 (came out last week) kills the QR code reading again.

As I said in the 1st post this only happens in Mycelium.

The bitcoin.com wallet still reads QR codes.
The Coinomi wallet still reads codes.
I removed the bither wallet so I can't check that.

I can't be the only person with this issue, can I?

So it was the 5.0.1 firmware update all along messing up your phone’s QR code scanning capabilities. Funny thing is, my mycellium never gave me same problem in the same time frame as yours did. Anyways, I'm just glad that it finally worked for you.

Yes, what was really odd was that other apps could scan. At a guess it was some security thing. Is could activate the camera but it was not really talking to it. I saw something  years ago with another app on another phone. The camera looked like it was working, but when you took the picture and tried to send it all you got was a black image.

Rolled back to firmware (5.0) that was released in November. Installed nothing but Mycel and it worked.
Did the 5.0.1 release from Jan 11th and QR codes stopped scanning.
Installed the beta from last night and it worked again.

That's 4+ hours of my life I am not getting back.

It's from the play store itself so I don't think that's the issue.

No malware found with various scans.
I also just as a test, did a complete wipe and same thing it will just not recognize the code. Copy & paste works fine.

Since the other wallets work I am starting to think that the January 11th phone update that broke it. The last coin I sent with that wallet was on the 14th. And I can't remember if the update was installed before or after that. Going to see if i can do a rollback.

-Dave

Feel free to do the update rollback. If that does not work, try and scan in an area with brighter lights. Also gently wipe off your phone's Camera lens to remove any strain or dust left. I know that the other wallets on your phone are scanning without issues but a little wiping off of dust will not kill.

I was about to say your mobile device is the problem till I saw that you mentioned other wallets are able to scan QR codes.

It is possible that you've got some malware on your mobile device or you are using a malicious/hacked version of Mycellium.

Having an odd problem. OnePlus 3T phone.
Mycelium will not read QR codes.

Coinomi does
Bither does
bitcoin.com does

Mycelium does not. It just stares at the QR not picking it up.
Uninstalled and re-instsalled, same issue.
Any thoughts?
