Beautiful Bitcoin Art.. I think it reflects the general idea that
the btc logo has to be based on a qr code design..

I can't get this to work well with a real bitcoin URI containing a full address and label. A bitcoin URI plus a cute image is just too much data to be squeezed into such a small space. I prefer the old technique of bumping up the EC level to the maximum possible within your size restriction, then scribbling all over it. Again, with a long URI such as a full bitcoin address, you need either a low EC level (which doesn't give you much scribble room) or a large QR version (size) (which is ugly and needs a higher resolution camera to scan it reliably). My avatar is QR Version 5, EC Level Q, which seems to be a good balance between size and defacability.

I can't remember the site I used to make my avatar.  I'll try and find it.

Yes, I like them, clean and simple, but unfortunately the content "http://bitcoin.org" is a bit disappointing, a no-brainer, there's no mystery that one can decipher, maybe I'm just too used to bitcoin, since I cannot appreciate a simple bitcoin.org anymore...

It's pretty easy to embed colored images into QR codes and leave them functional...

Just grabbed a quick link showing some.  There are a bunch of sites that use all sorts of methods to spruce up QR codes.

Interesting.

But the one the OP is showing doesn't appear to be 'functional' in a way that it doesn't contain a valid bitcoin address.  Grin

I see how the system works: make a real code, then add a label to it, that at the end of it contains a bunch of garbage...

yes, that's the non-geeky version. but this one tempers directly with the data (the #... after the url) to modify how the data is stored and checksummed. complete new level -> http://research.swtch.com/qart :-)

Calls for a new version of vanity address generator: one that approximates a shape as its OR-code version.
