For the first time when posting a topic, Am not sure which board i should post this. Please if this is the wrong board, kindly let me know and i will move it to the appropriate board.

Back to the point, today I stumbled upon https://btcinformation.org and couldn't help but notice the similarity of its contents to those of https://bitcoin.org

My questions are;
1. Who is the person behind this site?
2. Was it created with good intentions (should it be trusted like Bitcoin.org)?
3. Should we warn people, most especially newbies about the copycat website?
I read article written in Russian language about their website and it's written that btcinformation.org is like a fork of current bitcoin.org and also another reason why they created this website is that decentralized cryptocurrency mustn't have centralized website.
Seems intentions are good at some point cause it supports decentralization of bitcoin but also the more we warn people, the more advertising support it will be of that website.

I cannot understand what is the purpose of creating a website quite similar to bitcoin.org, But I don't think it's a fishing or any other kind of scam. (I cannot 100% confirm it)

the motivation behind creating mirror websites is pretty straightforward. per wikipedia:

Quote
The purpose of mirrors is to reduce network traffic, improve access speed, ensure availability of the original site for technical or political reasons, or provide a real-time backup of the original site.

if bitcoin.org goes down, the mirror site will still work. this mechanism is really important with torrent trackers and similarly targeted web sites.

with crypto-related mirrors, there is usually an added danger that the site could be used for something nefarious, like phishing or malware distribution. even if it appears benign right now, keep that in mind.

Limited in number. Limitless in potential.
Yeah, it looks like the previous layout design of bitcoin.org website.

I don't see ads nor donation address in the website as well, and hosting/domain maintenance is questioned. So, I may think that the site is solely for educational purpose, but the negative side is it's copied from bitcoin.org (plagiarism), preferable if they made their own since google have an issue of showing on search engine with duplicated content.

From first glance it looks just like mirror website of Bitcoin.org. On this website it's stated that's fork website of Bitcoin.org. So, first question which comes to my head after reading this - plagiarism. If they haven't got permission from Bitcoin.org ownerd to use all this material, I think it's not ok.
But if there is no phishing links, misleading information and similar stuff, I don't see malicious purpose of this website. But I also don't see any good intentions here too...

Surely, Meta is not the proper section of this post.
I recommend you to move the topic to Service Discussion or Reputation.

The website has been created on August 01, 2018 and as you said it is obviously a copy of bitcoin.org

Here is what is written in About us section.

"This website provides educational material about Bitcoin. It is a community maintained fork of Bitcoin.org. All material is released under the MIT open source license."

I cannot understand what is the purpose of creating a website quite similar to bitcoin.org, But I don't think it's a fishing or any other kind of scam. (I cannot 100% confirm it)

I checked the link of Electrum wallet and it navigated me to the real website.

Here is a thread made by gentlemand four days after the website was created.
