I think it hard to admit that you are a professional trader because if we say about professional you don't have any failed trading transactions. They said that when you reached over one year with continues income in trading you will be classified as a professional trader but I think that is not enough because all we know that trading need continues learning and development.

I'm thinking about how to be qualified as a professional trader, There's a web site that I found on ads and it's called Etoro. On the website they allow users to copy a certain trader's portfolio and the website show the trader's current growth.

My question is how can a certain website know if you are qualified as a professional trader? I don't think the portfolio is enough to be trusted because it is easily manipulated by some editing skills.
I have a single metric of profitability which no website can tell you. If you are able to consistently make profit in market in 1 year then congratulation you are a professional trader. By consistent here I don't mean that you never lose. But that in last one year your capital has actually grown which means your profits are much larger than your losses. I have seen some traders having 55% win ratio in trades and still be profitable and I have seen traders having 80% win ratio but still being at loss because the later don't know the basic concept of RISK:REWARD Ratio. Basically you don't have to be a winner in market who has won 80 out of his 100 trades you have to be professional who is 80% at profit after his 100 trades no matter if he has won merely 50% trades. This gives another important lesson that Risk management is much more important than strategy.
I think you have the right idea except that I think one year is too short of a time to tell if you are qualified to be a professional trader, and I will give 2018 in this market as an example, a long term trader that reported losses during that year will have nothing to be ashamed since it was a very difficult year, but if anyone lost money during 2017 or 2019 or during the period of 2017 and 2019 then he is not a good trader and should go back to the drawing board.

You need a certificate from a random website that you are doing good or not, seems they just want to gather information about the trader's portfolio so they can get target advertisements for the upcoming crypto projects. There is no thing called perfect trader,if you are doing trading from many different point of view then you maybe called as professional but you have to make profits at the end of the day which is the intention behind doing crypto trading.
^ But OP talking about the etoro platform which is they allow users to copy the portfolio one of their best traders. Maybe that was able to recognize their trading profit and you can be called an expert in trading that allows etoro exchange platform. Probably that was a marketing strategy with them to lure people to trade even newbies will have an idea just because of copy-pasting on other's work as a reference. Nevertheless, not bad.

to become a professional trader, you need to practice a lot with the indicators and knowledge you have learned.
The knowledge for trading is very broad with thousands of indicators and price actions and models. You need to memorize it and practice with the best psychology possible.
Sometimes a lot of money will not give you an advantage but make you lose more. So you should start with the smallest amount and get used to how the market fluctuates.

Patience should always be on our side, it is just like our mother that we need most of the time to remind us 'to relax, everything will be fine, don't be too much stress'. For me to be able to become a professional trader, you need a lot of effort, a lot of failures, losses, struggles, headaches, heartaches, stressing moments, once you have overcome all of this and learning to move on immediately then for me you are a pro trader already.
If we will keep in our mind that lose and profit is part of life and if we lost we can win too, this way we can keep ourselves away from mental stress and we can increase our patience so yeah it’s really good to keep calm if you are the market is dumping and price is decreasing you should use that time as an opportunity and buy even double at lowest price.

It should be like that, we must start with small capital, all beginners in trading should really focus on what coins they are trading, very difficult to become a professional trader because you have to really master the analysis in trading, technical and fundamental analysis. Mastering both analyzes is very difficult I think, you need full time to study it.
Indeed. It is very difficult to be an expert in trading because mastering technical and fundamental analysis is really difficult that you need to a lot of experienced to master both of it. I think most traders always start from a small capital to avoid huge risks and it is the best way to practice yourself in trading. I also think that there are only few people who are professional traders because even there are traders that has good portfolio some of them can't be considered a professional trader, so i think a professional trader are traders that they can easily minimize or avoid losses in tradings.

It is very difficult, if we choose to tell our self that it is difficult, and we can't do it at all and we will never be expert in trading, so for me it is a matter of mindset, if we choose to stay and never quit trading, keep going and analyzing the things we made wrong and right, choosing the right strategy, and patiently waiting for the perfect moment where in we will become professional in trading, then it will be all worth it in the end, and you will thank yourself.

If the portfolio was the only basis then anyone can be a professional trader either editing or borrowing some photos. If you really want to be qualified a professional trader, its not only the portfolio, you must show something else like skills and how do you chart. I don't know etoro but it is currently circulating around some website and youtube ads.  What's the benefit of joining etoro as a professional trader?
There is really no one that we can call a 'professional' because being professional is having a paid occupation, the fact that on winning a trade is very uncertain it actually falls to a past time rather than professional. I've seen Etoro on youtube ads and facebook ads and personally their ads are way to unrealistic talking about how it is easy to trade and get an easy money. There is an improvement on traders but not really that being a professional on trading.
You have a point there no professional trader that we can called even he had almost all the winning streak on trading or profits. Being a professional is only by course or degree that i never heard in becoming a trader. I don't know etoro in deeper knowledge so i can't comment. All i can say is if etoro becomes a big exchange or known in the market there's i time that i will enter and try that platform.

It will take many years for you to calm down when investing in this market. I think the feelings that you have said, I have all experienced and really it is a very bad time for any investor to participate. In my opinion do not focus too much on the chart when investing because it will directly affect your psychology and if you have a small panic, you will definitely find a way to sell that coin immediately.

Best in investing, you just need to buy and set the price to sell to ensure good profits and do not forget stop lose if that coin drops suddenly. Of course people often forget this and that will affect many of your other investments.

That is one of the most important in trading, patient. Well, I think the best way to prove that they are a professional trader is by doing it live. In that way, we can be able to look actually their skills in trading and how can they be able to make earn big profit instantly. Using tools and references is trading will become you a successful trader and also qualification of being Professionals. Op said etoro exchange which allows users to have references from their own members.

For a licensed company authorized through Cyprus Securities & Exchange Commission (CySEC) compliant with European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) rules and regulated by Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) stated some as professional traders built upon their trading performance to earn profits above the average traders isn't manipulated by editing skills. Professional traders skills based on their technical aspects of trading and trends in the market to make the right calls which followed by many people.

Maybe the website has other features on how they will measure the trader's ability to trade that aside from portfolio requirement, they may have some other unique test to measure your skills on trading then they will rate it of how skilled you are. Why not join the website as there is nothing to lose if you will try.
There is a test maybe upon registering since they will only contact you if you suit in their terms like a real job interview, since if portfolio only the basis it can easily be manipulated by any and act as if they have many investment and trade experience even it's not who really them who did it, haven't use etoro yet since I read review before that the charges are expensive before but will see if it be worth a try someday.

I never thought of trading job being a professional though. Is a trader even a license? No, right? Professionals are in my opinion are those who holds a certain degree and a license so that they will be include to a terms wherein they have to fulfill their duties as a licensed professionals which I think traders have not met any of it. In additio tradering can be a self taught job. This only my opinion.

I think you will just be qualified for them but not for everyone.

How about this. How do you identify a professional trader? Is there such a thing?
They are just showing their wins but not their losses.
I am watching them all in youtube including market analyzers but still I am having a hard time to believe with what they say.
Just like you said, it could all be edited for their own to make it look good to everyone.

For sure it will affect the company reputation if they hide the losses of their traders and they will have a proper screening or rankings so that  the user will define  on which traders is good for them. If you still not satisfy with the information you  got much better to read on their site on how they choose their top rank traders.

Their website had such amazing previews to let the viewers be amaze for those successful traders, but I don't think that they have plans to reveal traders who had bad days on them. Confidential matters always fall unto the decision of the exchange site admin whether they allow it to have transparency, or a discreet information which cannot be disclosed because it affects the reputation of the exchange site.
It's more like the main stream media, every details of an article was sincerely filtered.

The one can aswer this is the admins of the etoro but for sure if someone ask they will provide those information since it's part of transparency and they cannot be called an award winning site if they hide something like that also for sure all will understand that there is a bad day for each trader and it's pretty normal since it's a real trading but for sure those traders who lost much on there trades will rank down and this is the indicator for the user that they are not worthy.

A professional trader for me have a lot of experienced they do trading almost years from now and their learn a lot of knowledge about in trading and they know how to control their emotions and many positive characteristics. We all know that we don't hve any official criteria to become a professional trader only depends on us if we think they are pro or not.

I think they also need to show every trade not just the port folio of the user ,
I haven't used it but I think they would also let you copy every move of the trader if they dump their token then that means that the system would also dump the same amount of what you hold since you are copying that's users move.
But if that's not how it works then I don't think that it would really be useful if they would just show you the portfolio of the user then let you handle your own trades.
If it would only be like that then it is just like telling some new traders to buy some random alt-coin.

There's a certain percentage on the settings on what you want to use for copying the trades of the traders and whatever result they get you will also earn the same percentage with the trader you choose and actually it's a good service for lazy traders and for newbies should nce they can earn without doing anything.

And also there's a trading stats and rankings provided for the traders aswell you can see there result whether it's positive or negative.

Yeah showing your portfolio isn't enough to show that you are a professional trader.  Achievements is the most important in my opinion. Wherein strong proofs such clear copy (not edited) so that everyone will trust.  Because mostly nowadays claiming their selves as a professional but have no specific reference.  What i mean mostly are fake.
first of all i'm not sure that the etoro platform provide a legitimate service.

i have not used nor visited the site yet , just now make a quick research about how the platform works it seems they facilitate us especially a newcomer trader who want to learn or making profit through by as simple as following other trader strategy -a professional-
but here i maybe can tell you that being professional required a recognition , as you said by having some real achievements , good trading history and maybe some relatives that can vouch for them professionally are the one who deserve to be called as a pro trader.

there is no specific qualification set by any instituion for this.

Very funny, if there is an opportunity to make a good trader by the help of a portfolio then everybody will manage a good portfolio and make themselves as a good trader, I don't know how they could think like that. if you don't have any skill then how can you recognise about the market, So I think without getting properly trained and skilled regarding this system no one can get something when you have the capacity to make money from trading then you might be called a good professional and skill trader, for me, trading should be based on your own experience and interest.

Trading portfolio on stock exchange can't be manipulated. Your portfolio there will be transparent unlike cryptomarket. Etoro is brokerage company. Which means they know if the trader really have good portfolio or not.
I think you are not that familiar on stock exchange.

Perhaps, they have some point to determine if someone is a professional trader, so by giving them your portfolio, they will determine if you can be one of the professional traders. But the portfolio cannot be a sign for someone as the professional trader because that person must have a high-skill to be the pro trader.

But after I watch some videos about copy trade in eToro, it seems that the risk is very higher because we don't know how good that traders who want we copy. We only choose them as the base to trade, and if somehow they lose, we get a lose too. I see that the system can work well if we found a trader who has high skills, but still, the risk will be there.

Yeah showing your portfolio isn't enough to show that you are a professional trader.  Achievements is the most important in my opinion. Wherein strong proofs such clear copy (not edited) so that everyone will trust.  Because mostly nowadays claiming their selves as a professional but have no specific reference.  What i mean mostly are fake.
profesional was not neccessary to prove him self.its not important to get appreciation from other traders.trading result could be edited and its not representated for traders skill at all.profesional trader prefer to analize market and find best opportunity to earn money.in my opinion its not truelly profesional if they showing off their portofolio or trading result.he just want attract beginner follow them and charge fee for it.

I don't know the real score  on how Etoro select here professional traders but for sure they are seeking base on the performance of the potential traders and possibly they will undergo on series of test trades so that they can validate that  the person they get  is a great asset and  not a noob. And also maybe these guidelines can help https://www.etoro.com/customer-service/help/1283696/how-does-etoro-choose-the-top-ranked-traders/ it's there way to rank there traders and possibly it can give you a hint on their qualifications.

Portfolio only does not qualified to be a professional trader as this can be easily manipulated. There are a lot more than meet the eyes for someone to qualify as a professional trader. It takes a lot of time, research and discipline.
You are right not only portfolio is judge the professional traders, Nowadays everyone plan the perfect way but sometimes professional traders also loose the investment on sometimes. I hope crypto investment risk factor is too large so professional are loose few money and earn huge profit.

You mean copytrade , this is common in forex trading. Person who have skill (IDK they are professional or not) about forex trade, provide copytrade to another trader who want to join they group, and trader who join this group just wait because copytrade run automatically, still can close the order if thinking the profit is quite enough. I do this for almost 2 weeks, interested to this because the bonus deposit, and must pay fee for copytrade approx 10-15% from total profit. Maybe this method common in cryptocurrency with name paid signals, but in cryptocurrency trade is do manually by trader itself.
Professional or not I don't know, maybe they called professional because their analysis more often correct.

Professional trader for what? Are you applying as a fund manager or what?
For me you can identify yourself as a professional trader if you are earning more than what you’ve loss and this title is not important if you are focus on your own goal. If you want to win in trading don’t aim for this title, aim for more winnings and build yourself as a good trader, this is what matters the most to me.

Yeah, Steve the pro-trader and Dave, the gamer.

Etoro is a licensed company, regulated and running for several years now, so I think the stats of those so-called professional traders there are legit. However, I think I read somewhere during the time I got hype by that company because of the "copy feature", that users can only see a limited detailed statistics of those pro traders they want to copy.  When I say "detailed", we must see the breakdown of their trades during a specific given timeframe e.g monthly, yearly, etc. Maybe for privacy? I just don't know if that data will be available once you finally paid for the service. Damn, I think the price was $5,000 so I hesitate lol.

To answer OP's question in general, yes, there are chances that those stats are manipulated. Now to minimize the risks and if people really want to push their desire to test that kind of service, never test the waters on those unpopular and not well-established broker company sites or any related sites that offer trading copy features.

As far as I know, etoro's top traders are gotten from different metrics like # of winning trades, winning rate and other stuffs. I've used their services in the past. I think about the 2017 bull run. But it hot bad in 2018 as their trades kept hitting stops and losses. I wouldn't advice anyone to do copy trading not even with coindash (now blox). The best way is for one to learn how to trade by themselves.

We are no one to judge or justify this is a quality for the professional trader. people will consider the person who is winning and being top in the market this is applicable for trading as well as any kind of field in this world.
Som not sure how will you categorise this person is professional and that person is not.

I know etoro from ads that appear on videos when I watch YouTube. I think it's not as easy as we think it to editing a portfolio,
there are indeed some people who have editing skills but there are very few. To know that we are qualified as a professional
trader maybe etoro has a special app or platform to test our trading capabilities, then we are interviewed live. For payment,
it is possible to share the money from investors who have joined as etoro customers.

Copy trade is somewhat popular in forex market. Apart from Etoro, there is another broker called FBS which also allows users to copy other's trade and I have tried it on FBS itself with a small amount of money! But the result was a disaster! I lost all my investment within 3 days! However, there is a very simple process to become a trader in FBS. Just check the below link,

https://fbs.com/trading/copytrade-for-traders

Once FBS approves you, your trade patterns will be open to the public and they can start copying your trade. In exchange, you will get 5% of their total trade volume as reward. I don't see restriction to become a professional trader in FBS. Etoro must be having similar policies as well!

Maybe such platform hire professional traders and verify it thru having an actual trade, interviews, or situatioan exams to verify how a trader will decide. Of course they will have proof of your trades and also will look into your portfolio.

I do not know much about eToro except its name but in general portfolio can't be easily edited. Professional portfolios are build by good trading over a time period. As far as forex trading is concerned, there is an investor password by which any third person can check and analyze trading of any trader. These passwords are used to fetch detail from broker and it builds a portfolio like how much is the winning rate, how much is dd, what is percentage of profit/loss, how much amount was invested, what was withdrawal everything we even cannot assume. I am sure eToro will also have something like this to build any professional portfolio.

I also noticed etoro ads on my FaceBook and sometimes on YouTube.
No, that is not an indication that you are in professional traders that is something like an affiliate program. Once someone copy-pasted your portfolio, you can get a 10% bonus from the investors, but you can't withdraw all these bonuses.

For further knowledge, you can read this article and they are thinking that etoro also looks like a scam. But I personally think that it is a marketing strategy to lure gamblers to join etoro. https://socialtradingguru.com/etoro-scam-or-not

Etoro's ads are everywhere, in Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, etc.

I only consider a trader a professional trader if he is focusing on it full time, or if he is earning much of his income from it, or perhaps he is employed by a trading institution as a trader, or he has undergone formal courses on it. If a trader is trading on his own and when he has vacant time only, or only if he gets to access to some other traders' TAs, then he is not a professional trader.

Simple, They joined Etoro to provide service by letting their portfolio be copied and getting a commission on the website.
Yeah might be possible because that's how they will be qualified and to show their skills. In terms of copying a trade or lets say what tools they were using i think that is kinda hard unless people who wants to copy trade will have that skills or will let that trader trade for his or her money.

We can distinguish between pro traders and the usual traders is from their history of their analysis. Pro traders are not taking a trade by feelings and news , but they always do a technical analysis before they enter a trade. So i think just from portofolio we can't say the person is a pro trader just because they have a big amount of assets there, we don't know how much capital when they start trading

No it cant be easily be edited though.I'll give you an example but for forex discussions where you can able to track out
traders history with this https://www.myfxbook.com/. Brokers would simply offer those kind of copy trading service and noobs
do easily being hooked up since you are just simply copying them as a benefit for the platform on where they would use since
commission would always be present.
