I do understand this and have read it in multiple threads as well.

But, it says

That means you would be a Junior Member but if you made the full 480 posts you would instantly become a Hero Member.
I felt it is the change from Jr member to Hero member.

I am struck only at this line. All other threads I have read that a combination of merit and activity is the way to upgrade and has the line of grades one needs to pass. But, this particular line looked like shortcut

My best guess would be that that part of the thread was made before the merit implementation, which was on the 24rh of January, while that post was made on the 16th. *And that part has not yet been edited*
At that time all you needed were activities to grow your account.

<…> Does it mean that any Jr, Member account will post 480 post(not activities) can directly become a Hero Member? Or did I misunderstood somewhere?
Hero Members require at least 480 of Activity and 500 Merits. Both requirements need to be met, and nowadays frankly, except for a very few people, the Activity requirement is met first and the Merit requirement is met way later. Meaning that, for the average Joe, Activity is totally secondary as the Merit requirement is the one that is hard to achieve.

Now strictly back to Activity, no, the 480 posts (nor Activity) do not get you to the Hero rank as mentioned above. That was before the Merit System, and under certain conditions: 480 posts, all posted in the same week, will not get you to the 480 Activity counter. You need to post 480, and have at least posted one of them in at least 35 distinct non-overlapping two week intervals.

So roughly, the shortest requirement would be to post (providing it is not deleted) every two weeks at least once for 35 weeks, and making the aggregate over that period for at least 480 non-deleted posts. That's just to meet the Activity requirement. The Merit requirement is another matter as we know.

In addition to activity, you would also need merit:
Quote
Merit:

In addition to Activity you now need Merit to achieve each rank. The required merit is detailed below:

Brand new: 0
Newbie:   0
Jr Member: 1
Member: 10
Full Member: 100
Sr. Member: 250
Hero Member: 500
Legendary: 1000

Post count does not also automatically translate to activity, you need to grow according to the activity periods. Read through the entirety of that thread.

Was read this thread https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/faq-everything-you-need-to-know-about-forum-activity-account-ranks-and-merit-2766177

The link quotes the following:
Quote
★ You only need to make at least one post in each activity period to be able to collect the activity at a later date. For instance, you could make one post in three different periods and you would then have 3 posts and 3 activity, but a potential activity of 42. Once you made the 42 posts you would then have 42 activity but no more. If you made one post in 35 different periods you would then have 35 posts and 35 activity but a potential activity of 480. That means you would be a Junior Member but if you made the full 480 posts you would instantly become a Hero Member.

Does it mean that any Jr, Member account will post 480 post(not activities) can directly become a Hero Member? Or did I misunderstood somewhere?
