If you signed up yesterday you could've got 14 points and then 14 more today so 28 total. The activity periods are fixed and do not start when you sign up.

The dates change activity are the same for everyone. I would say you were lucky and registered before one of these dates by a few days.

In the newbie sticky post it is written that a maximum of 14activity will be awarded for 2weeks but I have registered 4days before and my activities are 28.how this is possible.
