For managing ebooks, my preferred software is Calibre.
But if you want an excellent electronic reading experience - why not get a hardware ebook reader?

The default android app does a pretty good job of emulating page turns.

"Soda PDF 3D Reader is a completely free application featuring our patent-pending 3D technology to flip the pages on screen like you would with a real book!" says the website for it.
http://sodapdf.com/

I was looking for programs to read text and picture collections like a book, and Soda PDF is almost perfect, except it repetitively raises and lowers the corner of the first page of a PDF (as an invitation to "turn the page), and there doesn't seem a way to turn it off. The repetitive page raising is not good for a PDF of pictures, in my opinion.

Perhaps we could all send an e-mail to the company for the feature to be disabled, but do you know of some other "book-like" PDF viewers, and some "book-like" viewers for other types of files?
