If you're in the UK I worked out a way that you can essentially get a temporary one use'drop location for free anytime you want it and you don't need to use your real name or use ID. All you need is a pick up code and they give your package to anyone as long as they have that. You're essentially using a loop hole in some of the 'pick up points' that retailers use so you can go pick up your purchases from a store for convenience. It could be used as a way to sell bitcoins for cash or anything else anonymously as well.

Could you give some more detail on that, it sounds really useful.

There is a much simpler alternative. Create an alias. You tell to the person that your name is

Satoshi Nakamoto
21 Boulevard of the chancellor crypto
Zip code city
country

On your mailbox, you add a tag with the name Nakamoto and voila...
If you live in a building then no way to know your apartment # and ID

Not much use in the UK where it isn't customary to put names on your mailbox, just the apartment number. Also useless if you live in a house.

Yeah it's a personal choice.

There are a lot of pro.i ent members here on the forum that are completely known. There are some that  are completely anonymous with one account or many.

Personally I joined and began to make some trades with Individuals before I even considered remaining anonymous. I feel it's the price of doing business. Especially when buying as some deliveries to my town require a name to be on the package, and a fake one would prevent me from picking it up.

You just have to find your comfort zone and role with it. If you need the anonymity others have tossed out some good suggestions.

You could use a reship service, but be careful, some apparently ask for KYC, and these are a little costly, I used one recently and paid around 70$.
Also, aTriz almost got doxed because of sharing his personal info, so better not share any personal information.

One of the golden rules on here for me. At no cost should anybody reveal any sensitive RL info on this forum (especially if you own a good number of bitcoin’s).

So many scammers & opportunist thieves reside here.

This can be quite tricky and depends on a number of factors. For instance, a lot depends on the delivery service that is used for the final delivery to your home. In my country, you can pick it up from the office of the delivery service also showing your identity card or even ask the delivery guy to come to a point near your home and then collect it from there. I will still not take this route for a coin as things can get complicated if it is misplaced.

First of all, I didn’t know where to place this post as this is a meta-question on goods bought on the auction or the goods sections of the forum. I will move it if needed.

When you buy a physical good, let’s say a silver bitcoin coin, do you give your personal data and have it sent home? Or how do you do it?

That's entirely up to you. You can give them all your details if you trust them but remember that user could do what he wants with them. I wouldn't personally have anything sent to my home address from here even if I thought they were very trusted, nor would I ever give out my real name or address because I'm sure there's a fair few people who would like to be a nuisance with it. If you want to remain private then you're going to have to find a way to have something shipped to you without them knowing who you are and there are likely several options. The most popular one would be to invest in a PO box but these aren't cheap and you will almost certainly need ID and proof of address to open one but this wouldn't be available to the person you were giving the PO box address out to. Usually you would have to purchase them for a minimum term too (which would probably be at least a month so probably not cost effective just for one item). You could have the item sent to someone else as a proxy but this of course then opens them up to possible abuse. And this thread is probably more for trading discussion, but maybe Meta is ok too.
