You will get your coins anyway. You may not see them, but they are at your wallet. Go to EtherScan.io, paste your address at the top right corner and press enter. At Misc section you will see Token Tracker with View Tokens button. Push it to know what you have at your wallet.

Well first of all if you want to know if you received any tokens or not, head over to ethplorer.io and enter your address there.
If you have any tokens they'll show under the token balances tab like in here

Now before you spend or use these tokens you need to add them to your wallet.
Go to myetherwallet for example. And press the "Add Custom Token" button on the right down and fill out the info under it.
Usually you'll find this info in the thread or you can simply get it from the token page on etherscan.
Fill them and hit enter. If you have any they'll show.

Can you provide an example on how to do it? I've joined multiple airdrops and haven't created a custom token. This can be why I haven't received anything.
