mining isnt rly that good these days
I have read some threads in the 'mining' section but am still confused. Some articles are written in 2010 or 2011, so I'm not sure if the instructions are still applicable to today.
So if I want to start mining, for example I want to know how to mine using my own computer, which software to install, how to join the pool, etc, is there a simple, clear and up-to-date instruction on mining, that can be helpful for newbies?

First, you won't get rich mining, most likely you won't even break even.
Mining with your computer, if your computer has an ATI video card you can mine with that. Nvidea, not so good. You can also buy an ASICminer USB miner on eBay for way too much money and use that to mine. You can use just that or that and you video card.
The most popular Mining Software seems to be Cgminer. Depending on your Operating System and what hardware you are using. It can be really easy to set up or extremely painfull to set up. GUIminer works ok on windows XP. my only experience is XP and Ubuntu Linux. Setting this stuff up isn't always for the feint of heart. You can always ask for help in these forums, just don't let the snarky people get under your skin.
oh yeah, pools, that part is pretty easy just look in the pools section. Slush & BTCguild are my faves.
