He gave up on this thread a long time ago.  I'm going to close this thread to prevent yet another thread full of apparently helpful comments trying to convince someone they should try and mine some random something for whatever reason. If he wants to discuss it again he can open a new thread or request this one gets unlocked.

You can try to mine alts, in that case you are good to buy either R9 280X or R9 290X.

Mining directly BTC with gpu is not profitable, other coins may be.

Also because it seems that while you want to get rich you were too busy searching for a bitcoin mining calculator to see how much money are you making with your laptop or video card. Start working if you want to get rich!

The reason no one answered is you're 2 years too late for GPU mining. If you buy the best GPU money can buy and mine for a year you might earn 1 cent worth of bitcoin that you can never spend due to the small denomination and you'll have spent $1000 in electricity. Please read up about ASICs.

Here's a sort of introduction:

Ok. hi guys i just started bitcoin today and im currently mining. loool. anyways it is currently mining at the speed of 2.4 Mhash/s a few minutes ago it was at 4.5 and my laptop fan was going so fast. my CPU affinity is checked at 1. and my graphics card is i guess intel(R) HD graphics 4000. i was looking online and found this one graphics card pretty cheap coming in at 50 dollars. lol hey i just got fired and its my first yr of college, so i dont have a big budget. and i want a train horn for my car. ok the graphics card im thinking of putting into my laptop is a AMD Radeon HD 6450 2GB DDR3 PCI Express 2.1 Graphics Card is it a good one? how much of a difference will i see in overall bitcoining as well as gaming?

thanks to all you who actually care about me Smiley
