This seem to be a specific cue I can interpret that a moderator will not change the moderation state on an already published thread whether it has one page or more than five page. As I said above that I still have a way to prevent spam in the thread by reporting the post to the mod if the thread no longer change to self-moderation. Actually I'm not in a pressing situation to hope that the thread changed to self-moderation, but I'm just wondering if I have a chance to get one. Hope some of your suggestion can be a guide for me in the future.

You cannot change that from non self-moderated to self-moderated thread or vice versa after you published the thread.
You're half correct: you can remove self-moderation status by (temporarily) moving the thread to a board that doesn't support it.

Create a new thread with the same content may never be appropriate while the previous thread is still active. If I create a new thread with the same content, I'm afraid I'll get repeated post in the thread which could be categorized as spam from many users.
I'd make a post with a link to the new thread, and just lock it. Like I did here. You could even move the old thread to Archival

it will even be wrong for it to later be self-moderated. Some people wouldn't have posted on the thread if seen as self-moderated, and you can not now deny those people of their rights.
Correct, so it won't be made self-moderated.

That is a long thread already with six pages. What I can advice is for you to just leave it as it is, no need to demand for it to be self-moderated. If you see spam, then report it, if truly is worth deleting, moderator will delete the post reported. Next time, do not forget to mark any thread you yourself want to moderate as self-moderated.

There is nothing admin can not do, which I believe moderators will also be able to do it too, but the fact that the thread was not self-moderated before, it will even be wrong for it to later be self-moderated. Some people wouldn't have posted on the thread if seen as self-moderated, and you can not now deny those people of their rights. Any self-moderated thread can be completely controlled by the thread creator, so given you the power of moderation over that already existing long non self-moderated thread is highly not right, so do not expect admin or moderator to make it as self-moderated, it is highly impossible in this regard.

So, that thread can not be self-moderated.

You cannot change that from non self-moderated to self-moderated thread or vice versa after you published the thread. I remember many users also request such feature before on some thread that has >10 pages yet its still the same today
It's for this reason that I'm asking the question while I never know if anyone has managed to get a moderator to change it before. I know that I and others can't do it alone if the thread has already been posted, but my guess is that moderator have the authority to do so if needed.

What you can do is to create a new thread a self-mod., close the previous thread and let everyone know that you made a new thread, or just let it as is.

If I create a new thread with the same content, I'm afraid I'll get repeated post in the thread which could be categorized as spam from many users. Maybe your second suggestion is my consideration because basically I can still report useless and spam post to the mod for deletion. But right now I'm still trying to ascertain if the mod can act to change it.

Limited in number. Limitless in potential.

Some time ago I had the idea to create a thread on a local board Indonesian to beware of scammer attempt.
Usually, to prevent spam or low-quality post in thread, I always enable the self-moderation feature for each thread I create especially on the local board. But unfortunately I forgot to activate the feature and only realized it after the thread was published. I'd like to edit and enable that feature, but there doesn't seem to be an option to do so. In this case, can admin enable self-moderation feature on published thread?

You can find the thread here: [PENTING] Pemula Waspadalah Terhadap Scammers
