Good news. Redeeming my Bitcoin Cash worked flawlessly without any issues. Appreciate you guys reaching out for the prompt help.

Has anyone redeemed their Bitcoin Gold?
Yep, I did not find good wallet for mac, so I used Coinomi or Guarda mobile wallets(do not remember exactly). To claim them you need private keys of your wallets.

Hello my fellow Bitcoin junkies. I have sort of an ambiguous question about the Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash wallets. I currently have my Bitcoins stored on an Electrum 3.0.1 wallet where they have been since early July of this year. I'm interested in redeeming my Bitcoin Cash, but am weary because I have not found any information, videos, or walk-thrus of anyone downloading both Electrum and Electrum Cash to their hard drive while also redeeming their Bitcoin Cash. I'm worried that downloading Electrum Cash may potentially overwrite my Electrum files and delete my existing Bitcoin. Does that make any sense? Any help or guidance is appreciated.

I have both on a Mac OS X, and don't have problems. But you are right to think that anything that might go wrong, probably will.

What I suggest is you find a key that had funds (preferably a very low amount) on 8/1/17, then be sure it has no funds today, if it does move them out. Transfer the private key for that key pair into the electron-cash wallet.

Just do one key and get it right.

Then you'll be confident to do some more, right?

How do I create a new wallet seed for my original Bitcoin wallet on Electrum? Just want to play it safe.
File -> New/Restore -> Write the name of the new wallet (different from the already existent one) -> Click next and follow the steps.

Don't forget to save your seed!

If you don't want the idea of using BCH wallets or (you mean Electron Cash?) , you can consider using Coinomi. I used Coinomi for claiming my bitcoin cash then transfer it for exchange for fast trades. (Like I said if you just want as I don't have experienced using those other wallets for safety purposes).

For reference you can check out here: (Head to bottom of the page for instruction)

Wallet in electrum just a file and password for this file. Save file somewhere and password(in different places).

You can also save Wallet->Private keys->Export. But do not show those keys to anyone.

First of all backup your wallet(in case you did not do this earlier). I have both Electrum and Electrum Cash and do not have any problems
