What I need, colinistheman, is a quality kitchen knife that can cut a tomato into small cubes without needing sharpened every three tomatoes.

I also probably need an education on which knife would fit that bill.

The tomatoes are farm raised so unfortunately I do not require a hunting knife.

I am currently using this knife until someone recommends something worthwhile. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B003EEM1H4 It is the correct size and weight, but if you even look at it wrong it requires sharpening. I would consider it the perfect knife for my needs if it was perpetually sharp.
Hi Holliday,
what you need is a ceramic knife.

The closest thing I sell is this http://knives4bitcoin.com/products/benchmark_zirconia_ceramic_knife_kitchen_sharpest_cutting_blade_knife.php. It is the perfect blade material but I'm not sure if it's as big as you need. Ceramic is sharper than steel and holds its edge 10x longer. It basically never needs sharpening. That being said, you have to be a little more careful with ceramic knives. For example, you can't pry with them or cut through bone. But a ceramic knife is the perfect knife for cutting vegetables. I have a set of ceramic knives in my kitchen and they are almost all I use. Ceramic = what you should be using for cutting a large quantity of tomatoes.

Thank you for taking the time to respond. Ceramic sounds perfect. I've looked at them (ceramic knives) a few times, but never made the purchase.

Unfortunately, I agree that the knife you've linked is a bit small. It looks like a useful knife regardless and I may end up being a customer anyway!

It just so happens that as of tonight, I'm in the market for a different knife altogether as well (folder). I will be sure to browse your store before shopping elsewhere.
Great. Thanks.
Also, you won't regret getting a big ceramic butcher/chopping knife. Make the investment. I use one daily and I promise you will be glad you did.

Knife c is awesomely gorgeous!!!

is this possible?..

i love it!
It is possible. I have a few of them before they are sold out and never again in existence. It's called a "tracker" style knife. Very cool, and about the most badass design I've ever had.

I never thought I would use the adjective "sexy" to describe a knife before now.
Thanks. I think they're sexy too. That's why I sell them Smiley Anybody can sell knives. But what about amazing knives.

A standard Japanese or folded steel knife is your best bet for everything. Also while at it get a ceramic sharpening stick and learn to use it. These knives are done in a similar fashion, and would do an amazing job by the looks of it, it would probably be less expensive to get something more standard. http://www.knifewear.com/contact.asp?knifestore=ottawa

lovely knives by the way. I am  very impressed with your work.
