Hi

Year 2012 the price is only 10 dollar each
Year 2011 the price is only 2 dollar each
Year 2010 the price is less than 50 cent each

My question for 2012 guy, it only cost you 1000 dollar to get 100 bitcoin, so you can selling now for USD50,000, did you cash out and enjoy?

maybe buy a car or boat or something?Huh

My question for 2011 guy, it only cost you 1000 dollar to get 500 bitcoin, so you can selling now for USD250,000, did you cash out and enjoy?

maybe buy a few houses, open a few franchise business?

just ask yourself:

what happens after you sold your btc and bought a car or a boat?

okay, you have a car or a boat - anything else? no. does this change your life in any way? no.
on the other hand: you left a amazing technology and watch it from the sideline  Roll Eyes

Bought 2012 at 1btc<10usd. Still have them. I also bought a miner and that generated btc I use for buying things (investment wise should have just bought btc with that money, but that might have been less fun Smiley). I also have some btc all the time in my spending wallet and I try to use it as much as possible. Every time I use btc I buy same amount back.

maybe you can share with us how many bitcoin did you bought and did it make you rich? or you are still have to work a 9-5 job?

I was sysadmin and building some gaming cafe at 2009-2011 and my friend suggested that I should try to mine with 20 GPUS. Felt like waste of time and I didn't. Jesus I'm stupid.

I don't feel comfortable announcing any amounts, but the main reason I bought in was that at that point 2012 finally I understood BTC technology, potential to change world and hopefully also power balance and started to believe in it. Also the MtGox hack that time helped. I figured that because BTC value didn't go to 0, the technology had to be solid.

I am older than internet and seen already many new technologies arise in my lifetime. I reasoned that instead of preaching about something, as was the case with p2p filesharing, linux etc, this time I would put my money where my mouth is and not tell anyone about it for some time. I still remember the exact day when I bought my first BTC. People usually tend to think I'm crazy when I get into something. It would be nice to say my friends someday "I told you so and give them some BTC X)" If BTC is going mainstream I have enough, if not, then who cares it has been fun ride.

I don't have enough to quit my day job, and even if I had I doubt I would, but I hope I can retire at some point. That in mind I don't have all eggs in BTC basket either Wink

You assume that in 2010 it was obvious that buying $1000 of bitcoin was a great investment!

I thought even $100 was a pretty big risk at the time. I also doubt there is a man alive that would hold everything during that first run up to £30 and then back down to $2.

I certainly didn't Wink

I reread the MTGOX chart from year 2010 and below is the high and low tide

July 2010  to October 2010 - 6 cent

October 2010 to November 2010 - 50 cent peak (increase almost 1000% within a month)

14 days later drop to - 14 cent bottom (drop around 70% in 14 days)

from 14 November 2010 to Feb 2011 - USD1.14 peak (increase almost 1000% within 3 month)

Feb 2011 to April 2011 - USD0.56 bottom (drop around 50% in 2 month)

April 2011 to June 2011 - USD32 peak (increase almost 6000% within 2 month)

June 2011 to November 2011 - USD2 bottom (drop around 92% within 5 month)

November 2011 to January 2012 - USD7 peak (increase around 350% within 2 month)

January 2012 to February 2012 - USD3.8 bottom (drop around 50% within 1 month)

February 2012 to August 2012 - USD15 peak (increase around 400% within 6 month)

1 days later drop to USD7.5 bottom (drop around 50% in one day)

August 2012 to April 2013 USD266 peak (increase around 3000% within 8 month)

6 days later drop to USD48 bottom ( drop around 80% within 6 day)

april 2013 to december 2013 USD1200 peak (increase around 2200% within 8 month)

December 2013 to April 2014 USD350 bottom (drop around 70% within 4 month)

well, so I can imagine those people buying early would have to ride the rollar coaster but I just wanna know what is your strategy during that time and what exactly happened to your bitcoin?

please enlighten me

I'm from the end of 2013 when 1 BTC touched 1200 USD Cheesy

But I was lucky to get in touch with few people who mined bitcoin in CPU at 2010. They told me (though unverified) that they sold the most in 2011 thinking the peak has reached. Some of them just formatted their HD w/o keeping the private keys thinking Bitcoin is all junk scam. Some of them even bought back bitcoins @ 1000 USD later (verified). Smiley
