Not missing anything, that pretty sums it up.
The one thing you *are* missing though is reliability. When they 1st came out the T9 (not T9+) was more reliable than the s9, only slightly slower and slightly more power hungry the the s9. More to the point the T9 is no longer more reliable - yay Bitmain...

Personally, now the only miners I buy are the Avalons from Canaan.io
Very very few problems reported with them, 2-year warranty and even better -- if something does go bad Canaan will send you the replacement part unlike BM that requires you to send the whole miner back to them.

There is no "s9-" its just the S9.

One of the most important pieces of information to know about a miner is its power efficiency. The T9 plus is way less efficient than an s9.

For example, a 14th s9 uses about 1400w. With $0.10/kwh power the s9 will cost $100 a month to run and produces a profit of $150

A 10.5th T9+ uses ~1530w. With $0.10/kwh power the t9 will cost $110 a month to run and only produces a profit of $80

So a pair of T9+ will only make about the same amount of overall profit as a single s9, hence why the T9 is half the price.

Hey all - just getting really interested and invested with bitcoin mining. Late, I know, especially with my rank and time I've spent here.

At this point, I think I have a general understanding on bitcoin mining and I was taking a look at Antminers, specifically the T9+ vs. S9-. Comparing hashpower, two T9+'s outweigh the S9-, and equate to similar prices; is the only reason that S9s are bought more often due to power consumption (2x miners vs 1x), or is there something I'm missing here as well?

Thanks in advance.
