promotion via video experiencing a serious expansion, it is possible that it is a good model. Animated gifs also doing the same thing, but sometimes they unnecessarily distract.
from the publisher's point of view, I will probably never post video ads in the middle of the content. it can be quite irritating for visitors, so it is not desirable to bother them. especially when it comes to textual content, there came visitors who wanted to read, not just watch videos.
I guess it can be a more frustrating experience on mobile devices and small screens.

As a publisher, I wouldn't allow using video ads on my site. It's because it's quite annoying to me to see video ads on any site that I am visiting. There are chance publishers would lose visitors due to annoying video ads. Most probably gypsy would be allowed in my site if I had.

Same thought if I am an advertiser. I work for a few platforms and place ads for them. Often I choose a gypsy or normal banner. Haven't chosen video ads for any platforms. Very rarely do visitors watch videos from ads IMO.

Yeap. At the very least if you were to put in video ads, set it to mute by default, or better yet, don't make it autoplay. But yea, personally, seeing a video ad would be a quick pass for me when doing research on literally anything.

I'm also a publisher.

I believe that if the video ads cannot be closed, it will worsen the user experience and drive users away from my site. That's why all video ads that you see on sites, are popups that can be dismissed with an X button. Sites don't try to stop you from closing these because they also know that video ads are generally annoying to users.

But for video ads, they had better have a higher CPM than static ads.
Of course you can close it.

Remember that many people have been scammed by crypto ads, so if it is about cryptocurrencies, do not expect to get a good interaction and therefore you will not get profits from advertisers.

Try to include the recommendation from the video makers, for example, pay the content producer to include it in the video instead of displaying it as an advertisement.
In general, the way users will interact with the ad will determine its value, not the number of people who view it.

Publishers want interaction, leads, and income I have seen platforms with video ads embed on their websites as long as the ads are very much similar to the content of the topic in the platform, and besides video ads is more attractive than banners and widgets, big publications have video ads in their platform so go ahead offer video ads and see the results.
Thank you for taking your time to post! It's much appreciated.

As an advertiser, this ad format doesn't convert very well. People watch or listen to the video but rarely click or buy/subscribe on anything. Traditional formats remain more effective and discreet, all that matters is the ROI on a campaign.

As a publisher, it's a so annoying format for visitors. I personally hate it so much that even if you have useful content, I would probably prefer to close the tab and move on to something else. Why should I bother the visitors, and more when I know they'll leave the website (and perhaps never come back)?

I don't know who invented this format, it woks on TV but on the www it's something else

I have heard this before, but have also heard the opposite Sad
For it to work, it would obviously be relevant ads (in this case, crypto)

As we are about to finish up our new ad server, we would appreciate input from both publishers and advertisers.

1. Publishers: Would you potentially be interested in showing video ads in your content. The ad will show as the visitor scroll through your content, and can be closed after 5 seconds.

2. Advertisers: Would you potentially be interested in buying video ads, behaving as explained above. The ads will be sold on CPM basis.

Thank you in advance!

As a publisher, I am ok with showing video ads on my platform as long as the video ads are very much related to the content of my platform I once used ads to my platform and they are not showing ads not related my platform is Cryptocurrency so video ads should be Cryptocurrency related ads

I'm not an advertiser but if the platform that they are going to show my videos has good traffic and is related to my content then why not advertisers want a targetted audience.

That depends. If you are using ads as a publisher on your content, that's going to consume some data and have an effect on website load time. If it doesn't put much pressure, I would use it as a publisher if the pay rate is reasonable. I haven't yet tried any video ads on my content; same reason as mentioned above, but if there's enough revenue, I would certainly give it a try.
For advertisers, I guess it depends on conversion rate against text, image-based ads. If video ads are more engaged & cost effective, why not?

Never tried to apply video ads on any of my content (as a publisher), well, that kind of ads didn't exist yet on the platform(s) I used/using. Never tried it as a publisher too.

As a site visitor/reader, I remember forbes or bbc have such kind of feature idk if it's an ad or not but it's annoying when it starting to play with sounds after opening the tab, and I want to close or pause it eventually after hearing/playing the video.
