Say I wanted to buy an account with high activity so I wouldn't have to wait so long for the restrictions to lift and earn better in a sig campaign, but I don't want to try to assume the identity of the previous user.
You'll probably one of the first 100 users to do so.
Could I acquire this account and delete all the old posts to put it all the way back to Newbie, but still maintain the potential activity of the old posts?
yeah, but you have to be careful. Have at least one(try two for safety) post per activity period. At any rate, most people don't mind the(previous) posts if you are open about the fact that you bought the account
Or, what would people think if this account made a post something like "account under new management as of xx/xx/xxxx" and stake a new address letting everybody know and having proof?
I believe other people(at least the ones on DT, whose feedback matters) are reasonable and moral enough to not tag the account if you openly let others know
Would just the fact that the account is bought be a reason to receive negative trust even if it was openly and plainly stated so?
What do you think?
As I said earlier, DT members, whose feedback shows up by default(if you haven't manually excluded them from your trust network), won't tag your account, unless you do something shady/promote (ponzi)scam etc.

I want to invest into my use of this forum, with a good account, but I don't want any "well you posted this here, care to explain that?" and then have to lie to protect the accounts value to me (not negged), or have my reputation in any way be related to any old post this account has made.

I don't want to do anything scammy, I just want to buy a leg up fairly just like everyone else does, but under the least nefarious means possible..
